Shelly's Shower

I finally get to share this today - the gift and card I made for my future daughter-in-law's shower.

For Shelly's shower card I began with Doodle Delights WordArt from Digital Scrapbook Place.  Then on with my favorite embellishments - Heartfelt Creations Malabar Clematis stamps and Piccolo Card Decor Set #3 - both embellished with Piccolo Vintage Gold Enamel Powder

As part of her gift, I made her a Wedding Advent Calendar - to help her count down the last 25 days to her wedding...and to let her know how happy we are to have her join our family.  The pattern for this calendar is the Classic Advent Calendar from  SVGCuts.  Each door contains a small gift she can enjoy with her morning coffee.  The calendar is also embellished with Globecraft Memories products - Piccolo Card Decor Set #11, Pure Sparkle Gold Glitter, and Vintage Copper Enamel Powder.

Remember, you can order Piccolo Card Decor, Piccolo Enamel Powders, and Piccolo Glitter - not to mention all kinds of fun items - from Globecraft Memories - Use Discount Code TS25 to get 25% Off your entire order!

Shelly, I enjoyed the short but sweet virtual attempt!  Thanks for making me feel part of the festivities!

Scrappin' fun - with Scraps!

After decorating some packages  with Heartfelt Creations Daisies, I had a few left over...with no paper to match to make a card.  Curious to see  how they would look glittered...and to see if the stamping would show through the glitter, I covered them with Glitter Ritz - Plum Berry.  I liked the dark color...and the stamping showed through just enough to add some depth.

In my ongoing effort to get rid of scraps I can't use for classes, I found a piece of silver cardstock I'd been saving for something.  I matted it on black with a photo corner punch...and added a sentiment.  Wanting to bring out the black on the daisies, I made the centers with Glastique covered with Piccolo Texture Black Enamel Powder (unheated).  I'm too impatient to let dry!  But I managed to stay away for the evening...and I LOVE the textured result I  got!  These daisies just may be a staple in this year's Halloween cards!

I then embellished the card with Piccolo Card Decor - Vintage Lock and Keys.  The lock is covered with Piccolo Texture Black Enamel Powder; keys are covered with Piccolo Micro Silver Enamel Powder.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Vintage Lock and Keys...in fact, loving all the Piccolo Accents.  I want all of them!!!

Put Your Paper Aside

With cooler temperatures and Halloween right around the corner, here's a tip to put your card making aside - a side-step, that is!  One of my favorite ways to make a card special is to add dimension...and unique folds is a great way to do this.  This side-step card is just another way to give your card some dimension.

Quick Quotes Friday Challenge 17

This is the third card in a trio of cards celebrating Life's Moments...Now that I'm finished, I find it interesting to note that I began with a sympathy card, then a wedding card, then a baby card...not quite the order we generally experience these life moments.  I first created the sympathy card to meet challenge requirements or Friday Challenge 17 by Quick Quotes -  to use a die cut or punch.  I chose to use the same die for each card - Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals Die to go with their Open Petals Stamp set.

This card is a simple step card, using a picture from Graphic 45's Little Darlings Collection, then embellished with the Petals - and, of course, embossed with Piccolo Vintage Copper Enamel Powder from Globecraft Memories.

Quick Quotes Friday Challenge 17

For Friday Challenge 17 by Quick Quotes, the challenge is to use a die cut or punch.  After making a first entry using Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals Die, I was so pleased with the outcome, I wanted to make more.  This time I was inspired by a card I saw a while back on svgcuts.com.  While my card nowhere met the standards of the inspirational card, I was able to incorporate what I generally admired about the card - a wedding card - cream on cream...and I added Heartfelt Creations Open Petals Stamp/Perfect Petals Die.  The church pieces and wedding couple were cut using Sure Cuts a Lot.

Of course, as usual, I embossed the flower/leaf petals with Piccolo Vintage Copper Enamel Powder from Globecraft Memories.

Quick Quotes Friday Challenge 17

For Friday Challenge 17 by Quick Quotes, the challenge is to use a die cut or punch.  I decided to use a stamp/die combination I purchased long ago (Heartfelt Creations - Open Petals Stamp/Perfect Petals Die)...and have maybe used only once.  The blues/greens make a soothing sympathy card.

In addition, I embossed the flower/leaf petals with Piccolo Vintage Copper Enamel Powder from Globecraft Memories.

Never Forgotten

Today I'm back with patriotic inspiration with a small memorial to fallen soldiers using the Little Fancy Oval Bubble Frame from Globecraft Memories.  This frame is made in memory of Army Sgt. Jeremy E. Depottey from Newberry, Michigan, and our cousin, Army Master Sgt. Anthony R. C. Yost from Flint, Michigan. Fallen Heroes Memorials were erected in their home towns.  This project is a gift to my sister, Lori Miller, who devoted an extraordinary amount of time leading fundraising activities for Sgt. Depottey's memorial.

Globecraft Products used in this project
Little Fancy Oval Bubble Frame
Scrap Chipboard Piece
Piccolo Enamel Powder - Vintage Copper

Other Products:  Cardstock - United Paper (Authentique), Cardstock - Block Party Jamboree (Bo Bunny), American Flag Sticker (eksuccess), Never Forgotten Sticker and Gold Star Sticker - Americana (K & Company), Wafer Thin Velcro Fasteners

Instructions

The Bubble Frame comes with three oval layers.  I did not use the middle layer - but it will come in handy for another project some day.  Globecraft makes good use of all the chipboard cut and sells scrap pieces by the bag.  These bags generally contain insides of cut frames in various sizes.  So the bottom layer of this project is the inside scrap piece from Classic Rectangle Bubble Frame. I covered the bottom layer with United Paper, the middle layer with Block Party Jamboree, and the top layer with Piccolo Vintage Copper Enamel Powder.

I next constructed the inside to be dimensional.  The picture is a picture of Sgt. Depottey's memorial.  To give the memorial dimension, I printed three copies.  I left one copy untouched (bottom layer), I fussy cut around the entire memorial (middle layer), then I fussy cut around the boots and helmet.  Note:  Before printing my pictures, I edit them in Photoshop and use the cookie cutter oval about 1/8" larger than frame dimensions.  That way I have an idea of how the picture will fit in the frame before printing.

.
I layered the memorial pieces using pop dots.

I added a flag using pop dots.  I constructed the bubble frame using Wafer Thin Velcro Fasteners.  I added a thoughtful sentiment from K & Company - and a small star at the bottom to cover the alignment pin hole.

Two Lumps of Fun

I had two lumps of fun as I used Graphic 45's Hallowe'en in Wonderland and Happy Haunting paper lines to make bridal shower party favors.  Shelly, my future daughter-in-law, is having a Mad Hatter-themed bridal shower - so you know I had to put my two cents in with some cards for guests.  Here are just a sampling of the cards.
