The new More Christmas sentiments are perfect for holiday cards - and you still have plenty of time to prepare for the holidays. I made a simple little Christmas card using a sentiment from More Christmas, paper from Sentimental Canvas, and some Mistletoe.
I personally happen to think this project is one of my favorites.
This layout didn't go exactly as planned, but I'm happy to say I finished all six challenges at the Creative Memories Virtual Crop.
It's Saturday, and that means another Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers. I kept the card quite simple because of the striking paper I am using - but added a fun and fancy border to my sentiment.
Today the Outlawz Design Team brings fabulous inspiration to the Paper Ala Mode Challenge using products from We Are 3. Our current challenge is Music - you can find the challenge here. I made a gift bag using paper from the Just a Song and Gingham Pastels paper collections. The musical note is added from the Notes set. The tag is layered using solid colors. The bow and pearls were added during assembly.
The new sentiment set Magical Wishes just calls for fairy cards. There are a number of gorgeous sentiments in the set, but I really love this one with a play on words. I colored a fairy image digitally.
We have another fabulous Halloween sentiment release. This is my first Halloween card of the year, and I wanted to keep it simple.
So, I just found that Beccy's Place has a monthly challenge - I'm so happy to have found her blog. AND once again I failed to read the instructions before making my card. Thought I only needed to use one of her images - but no - it was to include embossing, an easel, a button, birthday wish, and a TRADITIONAL stamp! Who even owns those anymore! I just took bags full to the White Elephant yesterday - no way am I returning to purchase one back. LOL!

The card itself is pretty simple. Perfect design paper - a witch from Dream Tree - added a sentiment from Halloween Wishes cut in a doily cut with my Eclips. There are new releases at We Are 3 this week and they are really wonderful. Today I'm using one of the new sentiments from the Magical Birthday set. These sentiments are "fairy" wonderful, so I wanted to use a fairy image - but wanted a clean and simple card. My paper choices are also from We Are 3 - Enchanted and Shirley's Roses.
Can't believe I forgot to post the first sketch challenge for the Creative Memories Virutal Crop - a fun-filled weekend where we receive a three sketches each day - the challenge must be completed by Sunday evening. I've been playing in this for several months - but it's not always easy to keep up. This weekend, I informed my hubby I was busy! LOL! This certainly helped. I do appreciate the timeline, though - because I could take forever to complete a layout. I am an expert at procrastination - and I don't always like the sketches - then lose interest. This weekend I didn't take time for that - just got busy. And although I was not thrilled with my first layout here, I'm proud for pushing through.
. . . there was always a book in my hand - then I discovered papercrafting. LOL! I thought the Once Upon a Time papers (We Are 3) were perfect for the sentiment from the new It Is Magic set.
I printed the sentiment on one design from the paper pak and cut the side at angles. Then I printed another design from the collection and cut it just a bit larger to mat. The background is another pattern from the paper pak.
Welcome to Day 2 of the Virtual Crop - a fun-filled weekend of sketch challenges sponsored by Creative Memories. My first thought on these days is usually "What's the next sketch?" I do spend the weekend just trying to keep up. Everything else takes a step aside. 
For the third sketch, I made a quickly layout for the Creative Memories Virtual Crop. The papers are from the Preppy-Abstract Dot collection.
For the second sketch challenge at Creative Memories last weekend, I used papers from the Creative Fabrica Garden of Roses paper pack. I then resized and cut several flowers from the free Blush and Charcoal Floral set to add for embellishments. The circle sentiment is computer generated.
There was a virtual crop at Creative Memories this weekend, and that's a perfect way to get some layouts completed. Here is used Garden of Roses (Creative Fabrica).
Here's a little bookmark I made using the fabulous Nautical collection, just one of the amazing digital paper collections available in We Are 3's Etsy shop. I added a sentiment from the Mermaid Wishes set.
My card today is a Binder Card. I began by printing the bunny silhouette (Silhouette Scenes) onto a design pattern from the Watercolor Samples collection.
This sentiment is Hugs Your Heart by Digital Scrapbooking - one of my faves. I made a fairly clean and simple decorative round. Just some digital paper, a simple bow, and a few sparkly branches for interest.
The new challenge started last week at The Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge with the image New Car from Twinkle Lane Designs. This is a month-long challenge. It is sometimes tough to come up with ideas for the freebies we receive. I finally settled on a simple card. I featured the freebie car image riding a two-lane highway. Honestly, I was at a loss for a sentiment until I found the Over the Hill sentiment in my stash. How PERFECT!
Once I started coloring, I was pleasantly surprised. New Car came together quite nicely - in face it was a joy to color. I did get confused and kept wanting to color it with tail lights instead of head lights because Twinkle Lane Designs is in the United Kingdom. Hah! It just hit me know I could have flipped the car so that the steering wheel would be on the left!!!! LOL! All the coloring was done digitally.
Both background design papers are We Are 3 (Canvas Scenes). I used a Swiss Dots embossing folder for the dotty background.
I think the sentiment was computer generated - can't remember for sure. The bow was from a jar of bows I bought at our old S&S for a buck - probably ten years ago and that jar is still stuffed with bows! I thought the green bow helped bring the color of the car to even out the design. I'm pretty proud of myself for not shying away from an image I thought would be too difficult to turn into a card - and I'm more than pleased with the results. I'm so excited to finally be crafting again after a two-month "hiatus" for tile installation. I started with The Outlawz Festive Friday challenge. The background is Bows from We Are 3's Christmas Fun collection. Sure is a FAVE for holiday projects. I'm beginning a new album using Red, Black and White which is one of my FAVE color combos - the Bows fit well into this color theme. I also used design paper from the Minimal Preppy Black and White Dot collection from Hungry JPEG. I used Christmas embellishments from my stash on the bottom. I love the way it turned out.
