Let's Eat Fruit (and Cake)

Okay, I have a crop tomorrow, and all my goodies are packed up - but I still wanted to craft tonight.  So I actually colored and created this single-layer card tonight because all I have available are my computer and printer.  This cutie is for the Power Poppy Blossom Challenge (Eat Your Fruit and Veggies) with the sweet Tea Cake with Strawberries image by Power Poppy.  Thanks, Power Poppy, for sweetening up those strawberries with a delicious-looking cake!  It's colored digitally, and I added a new favorite sentiment from We Are 3 (Life Moments) - because I do believe I am in the presence of wonder when there is a delicious dessert in front of me! 

The Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Here's another one using a sketch from the Creative Memories Virtual Crop a few weeks ago.

I stumbled upon Monica's Creative Room's borders earlier this month and am dying to use each and every one of them and thought these particular borders are perfect for this sketch.  I added embellishments from my stash.

I do like to print Monica's fancy files pretty small....so I generally print them instead.  Faster, too!  

Ho Ho Ho

I've been a busy girl prepping for a local crop this weekend - but today I got to begin a new scrapbook.  Beginning a new scrapbook is liking a new year in school....a fresh beginning and getting to pick some new paper collections.  The cute papers I'm using here, from the Shabby Christmas collection, is by We Are 3.  The title is a new sentiment from the Vintage Holiday set.

A local virtual crop kept me in today and playing with some of We Are 3's new goodies.   

I made this Christmas card.  I love this black and blue color scheme - might have to be making more of these for the holidays.

I love the embossed cactus I bought years ago - just couldn't resist using my leftovers from classes on the last 8 pages or so.

Thought that window view I pulled from my stash would look cute, as my best view of my ocotillo is from my craft room window.  WOW!  I was so impressed that I was able to pull all my embellishments out of my stash!

Zoo Visit Layout

Wow, I've had a whole week to post my Creative Memories Virtual Crop layouts...and I still have many to go.  Creative Memories offer fabulous inspiration on their blog and a number of tutorials.  Thank you so much, CM.

I really enjoyed this gorgeous layout - I did it all digitally except the photos and poinsettia.  I've gotta say, digital layering is more pleasing than cutting all those little scraps.  I really lucked out in finding the poinsettia in my stash and, miraculously, it fit perfectly with my layout.  

Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Last week Creative Memories held their weekend-long Virtual Crop.  Our local Snippy Scrappers held a virtual crop coinciding with Creative Memories.  They are such a fun, supportive and inspirational group.  I love playing there.  I try to never miss the crops.

Everyday Wishes with We Are 3

Today I used another patterned background from the Black Essentials collection.  I wanted a clean and simple masculine card.  I added a new sentiment from the Everyday Wishes set. 

Bling at the Kerst Christmas Challenge

I can hardly believe it's time for the September Challenge at the Kerst Christmas Challenge.  I have enjoyed every minute being on this team.  Our September theme is Bling, and I made a card using the gorgeous Wisna Xmas available here on the Mirtillamente Craft Shop.  

The image was colored digitally.  

She's fussy cut and popped so that she doesn't get lost in the white background.

New Paper at We Are 3

I spent today playing with some of the new goodies from We Are 3 - the Black Essentials paper collection.   

 

 

I made these package toppers using the Black Essentials papers and the Silhouette Scenes set.  I cut and matted the toppers in different shapes from Love SVG - then finished them off with digital images from the Silhouette Scenes set.  Definitely different than my usual style, but they make great toppers for plain packages.

Playing in the Desert

I've got yet another layout inspired by the Creative Memories Virtual Crop last weekend.   

I just couldn't resist a desert layout and was able to use one of my sentiments from We Are 3's Cactus Thoughts set.

You Don't Look 8

It was the Creative Memories World Virtual Crop this past weekend and we had a fun virtual crop of our own with Snippy Scrappers.  I'm kind of late to the game getting my layouts posted, but finally managed to find some time.  The adorable baby here is our oldest grandson.

Florida Memories for the Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Wow - I finished nine layouts during the Creative Memories Virtual Crop.  They offer fabulous inspiration.

I really enjoyed the few days these pages depict when my sister surprised me with a visit while I was attending school in Florida.  I've gotta say, I didn't do much sightseeing until she showed up.  These pics also bring back fond memories as during this visit, I remember early phone calls I had with my now-hubby Gene.

World Virtual Crop with Creative Memories

Creative Memories held their World Virtual Crop all weekend - I played along with the Snippy Scrappers as we all worked on the fabulous sketches provided by Creative Memories.  Scrapping with the Snippy Scrappers is such a fun, supportive, and inspirational time.  I enjoy having the opportunity for their feedback.

I try to never miss the virtual crop - I was inspired to complete nine of the layouts.  LOL!

Celebrating with David and Vickie

I had a ball creating these cards featuring a silhouette from Designs by Juny for a friend's request.  For the colorful card, I used Paper Rainbows from Design Bundles...quite a soothing background, I'd say.  My first thought was the black and white....but then couldn't resist making a second card with color.  I used a Laced Frame from Monica's Creative Room.   

Another for the Stick It Down September Sketch Challenge

WooHoo!  I've completed both sketch layouts at Stick It Down for this month!  I'm beginning a new album and trying to select a new collection -  ran across this Brick Fire Station collection in my stash - I love the colors and patterns in this collection, and I think it'll be perfect for this new scrapbook. The title was digitally colored with the paper patterns from Brick Fire Station and Print2Cut on my machine.

A Quick Layout for The Outlawz

With winter fast approaching, I am trying to finish last year's Christmas album for my niece. 

So here's a layout from her Christmas holiday.  (Unfortunately, I cannot share the photo.)  She was in a hotel room with all white bedding...eating Cheetos.  Amazingly, the bedding does not yet show signs of orange.  Here I used the sketch from The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I enjoy turning these sketches into layouts because I get a clean and simple look compared to many layout sketches available.  Love it!  I did rotate the sketch 180 degrees.

For my papers, I used the Frozen collection from We Are 3.  The "journaling" is computer generated.  I purchased the Frozen elements on Etsy.

Mirtillamenta meets the Kerst Christmas Challenge

It's September, and that means a new challenge at Kerst Christmas.  This month's theme is Bling - Pearls and/or Gems.  I like this image (Scented Chocolate) we are using from Mirtillamente.

The image is colored digitally, fussy cut, and popped on top of a ferny evergreen stem.

New Monday Greetings Challenge at The Outlawz

Here's one for The Outlawz Monday Greetings - Sweet Greetings - using the adorable Tea Cake with Strawberries by Power Poppy.  I made a card inspired by this week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast - with a frame from Monica's Creative Room Laced Frame collection...adorned with extra strawberries 'cause what better way to send Sweet Greetings?

The cake and strawberries are colored digitally.  Sweet Greetings to you!

Progressive Freebie for The Outlawz

I'm loving the new embossing folder I just received from my sister and couldn't resist making a card using The Outlawz Progressive Freebie with this folder because it's nearly a mirror image of the photo we're using - Autumn Fall Reading Girl from Star Stampz.  I was worried I made the stamp image too small....but - this doesn't happen - but the car is exactly as I envisioned.  This is a busy image, so coloring the details was more than a bit challenging, but it was fun.  Just don't look too closely!  I just love the image, though.
