Apple Delight

Here is my attempt to turn a gingerbread house into a "summer cottage." I thought papers from Apple Delight and Dotted Swiss were perfect to give this gingerbread house a touch of summer. Now hurry to the We Are 3 Facebook Page to see more fab inspiration! Lots of fun new collections.

We Are 3's At the Beach

There are so many cool and fun giveaways going on over at Kit and Clowder.  I'm beginning to feel a bit stressed - a slow computer is not a good combination with my switch to digital work.  It took me all day to do this card!  With this card, however, I got to use a Kit and Clowder giveaway - Summertime from All Dressed Up - with We Are 3's new release - At the Beach.

Happy Birthday One-Layer Card

Hope you're all having a good week!!!  I made this cute birthday card from the Once Upon a Time Collection.  It's a one-layer card  kind of a collage of three of the different patterns in the collection.  I used the new Window View and Window Layers for the focus point . . . just perfect combination with the Once Upon a Time papers, don't ya think?  I added a sentiment from the Special Birthday collection.
Hope you like it and that I've inspired you to try making a one-layer card using your photo-editing program.  It went together quickly, and I really like the end result!  Let me know what you think.

It's All About Christmas in July

Just a fun Christmas card I made using Fairy Mail, a July Release from We Are 3.
I love the collage look of We Are 3's Fairy Mail digital papers.  I wanted to see if I could turn these papers into a Christmas card in non-traditional colors.  We are all used to the red and turquoise Christmas Decorations - and pink and white.  I was curious was I could do with brown - LOL!  I had loads of fun with this card!  The background paper is already a terrific collage pattern.  On top of that, I stamped brown snowflakes - and added a brown snowflake embellishment.  This card is quick and easy, actually - and I was having so much fun, I made three additional cards immediately.

July Release - We Are 3

The July Release means lots of new samples over at We Are 3.  This month, the papers are all about beautiful, rich colors.  I hope you check out the Facebook Page and check out the new papers, images, and sentiments.  If you haven't used digital papers, you should really give it a try, as it's really nice when I want to make something, I only print the paper I need and don't have packs of paper in my stash.  Here is today's example using Fairy Mail digital papers and Hope Sentiments.

In Love with Dove - and Heartfelt Creations

At the last Scrapbooking Expo, I learned about Dove Blenders - I know, not a new product. Hard to believe I could be scrappin' so long without learning about these! But it is now one of my go-to tools - a must have for every scrapper who colors images.

My first project with the blenders is a graduation gift for my hair stylist. She loves western, so I used Heartfelt Creations Western Collage stamp (embellished with Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch - oh, and the paper is Heartfelt Creations Raindrops on Roses). I colored the image with my ink pads and Dove Blender. For me - a Copic amateur - this process went much faster.

Teach-Me Tuesday - Top of the Morning to You!

Good morning,

I hope you are having a great week so far. Now, on to some scrappin'! Here is a card I made in about 15 minutes.

First lesson - If I purchase a paper pack for a specific project, I try to keep all my scraps from that project together...storing them in one plastic 12 x 12 storage envelope That way, when I need a quick card, everything in that envelope is color coordinated - and I have fewer decisions to make. I used scraps from Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters Collection. I've been working on St. Patrick Day cards for a couple weeks now - so cut a whole page of shamrock accents (freebie from Images by Heather) in different sizes on a piece of scrap green-patterned paper. So I already had some of those laying around.

I began with these scraps.

I began with a cream card base - 5-1/4" x 5-1/4". I used a deckle blade to cut three sides of the striped cardstock to be the card front - 5-1/2" x 5-1/2". The other scraps - I pretty much cut five rectangles. The only measuring I did was to mat a couple of the scrap rectangles. Just used whatever size rectangles I could get from the scraps I had left...starting to just glue them down wherever! I did decide I needed something to bring it all together - so added a green border matted with purple.

I popped up the last couple pieces of scraps I selected - and added a couple of the Shamrock Accents.

Come back to visit us as we keep posting new ideas for using scraps.

Keep Warm

Morning, all!

For today’s card, I am still with a basic card that lets images be the focus of the card. I love cards like this - so simple to make if you have some fun images.

I used images from the Place in Time collection from Graphic 45.
So, enjoy the card! And....remember....What Day is It?????

Collage Card

Morning, all!

For today’s card, I'm continuing using some leftover images from a Place in Time by Graphic 45.  I am intrigued by the simplicity of this card idea.  It's basically just a collage card.
