New Color Challenge

Today I'm showcasing the Bumble Bee digi paper collection from We Are 3.  Since the current color challenge at The Outlawz is shades of yellow, I thought this would be a great time time to get a little caught up on my grandson's scrapbook - which is shades of yellow and blue.   

The bumblebee theme I'm using in this scrapbook is so much fun.  You can always count on We Are 3 to inspire with papers with beautiful colors.  Come and join the color challenge and show us your yellows!

The Outlawz Color Challenge

A fun color challenge at The Outlawz with shades of purple.  Woo Hoo!  Right up my alley since I am currently using GranMargaret's Flowers for my scrapbook.  I made a layout using many borders.

Creative Confetti Challenge

This week's Creative Confetti Challenge is Taking Cues - meaning Color Cues. Waiter, There's a Parakeet in my Teacup is from Power Poppy, the patterned papers from We Are 3.

Tuesday Color Challenge

The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge is featuring purple/pink this week. I was pretty excited about this one because I knew I could find something that would work in my stash. The paper, ribbon banners, and sentiment are from We Are 3. I figured I'd finally get to use my Kadoodle Bug Bunny with Flowers - so that was sitting in my stash just ready to be popped on. 

This card was quick and easy - because I had all the hard work finished.  It's because I just really have too much in my stash!  When I need paper, sentiments, or images - I like to print a sheet full at the same time - so always have useful items in my stash.  Now that's just me - and I am often overwhelmed with how much is actually in my stash!  So I basically just slapped all this on my card and called it done.  These simple cards are generally more versatile than the creative cards anyways.

              

Creative Confetti Challenge - Power Poppy

I was so excited to see Power Poppy provide a freebie (Filligree Tree) over at Kit and Clowder because I can never get enough of Power Poppy - their images make such elegant sweet cards. This week's Creative Confetti is a color challenge - monochrome blues. I thought this new freebie would look wonderful in blue - reminds me of the old-fashioned blue/white ceramic - I think from the Dutch? Not sure - just that when I see it, I also see the Tulip Festival in Holland. :D I originally planned to have all blues and white in my card, but I think the silver background helps my blue tree stand out.

The Outlawz Color Challenge

My printer needs a part that won't be in for another week or two, so digging into my stash for a challenge or two.  This is a combination of Look Up paper and a Darice embossing folder.  The Look Up pattern is from We Are 3.  The challenge is a Color Challenge at The Outlawz using a Bingo card.  My diagonal line calls for brightly-colored sequins and pink swiss dot ribbon.  I really love how it turned out.

What a fun challenge this week at The Outlawz Color Challenge! But once again I failed to "remember" the details - and my card does not include a reflection! Of course, I couldn't resist still sharing the card with you.

The Outlawz Color Challenge - and Farm Life

It is nice to prepare early and have card ready to mail out for special occasions.  I live in Arizona, so Southwest themes are popular with my friends.  Today I created a pretty card using the beautiful We Are 3 Farm Life digital papers.  The colors are inspired by the current Color Challenge at The Outlawz.

Summer Fun - Surprise at the Beach

This is a card I designed for The Outlawz - both the Wednesday Sketch and Tuesday Color Challenges.  I used TLC Creations' beautiful free image Summer Fun - Surprise at the Beach.  Just seeing this makes me want to dig my feet into the sand!

When I first saw the sketch, I imagined creating a card very similar including a butterfly and a tag.  My butterfly turned into a sandcastle - and I thought the sand pal and shovel was just the perfect tag to complete this card.  The Color Challenge was Tic-Tac-Toe - I chose Bathing Suit, Orange, and Palm Tree.

A card for Hues to Use at Power Poppy. This week the colors were our choice from this photo of a paperweight.  The flowers are Black-Eyed Susans from Power Poppy.  The Sentiment comes form the Smiles collection from We Are 3.

Card for Tuesday Color Challenge and Featured Stamper #591

Here is another card for today - this is one I made for the Color Challenge at The Outlawz - also inspired by the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers.  Another card using papers from Winter Serenity and Winter Splendor - can you tell I love these papers!!!!  They are just so soothing!  The image is a new freebie from Anne Fenton - available at The Outlawz.  It is an image that was fun to color - I just love lilacs and playing with the purples and blues was fun.  This was just a fun, easy card!

Hues to Use at Power Poppy

Just wanted to show you a card I made inspired by this week's Hues to Use at Power Poppy.  I broke down today and bought myself a new stamp set - Sweet Simple Things.  I LOVE this image!!  My background paper is from the Framed Neutral Collection from We Are 3.

Quick Layout

Today just a quick layout as I come near the end of making four scrapbooks for my husband's siblings - only two more pages to go, and I already know what I want to do with those.  Yeah!  Here's my latest layout - pretty simple.  

For this layout, I decided to do something a little different from what I usually do and colored up some mushroom and butterflies - I've been practicing my shading and I'm pretty happy with how these turned out.  I love the Hues to Use colors from Power Poppy last week, so used those colors for my mushrooms and butterflies.  The Mushroom Butterfly is from Angie's Digital Stamps.  I cut the butterflies off two of the images and glued them together to make the butterfly at the top of the page.

Power Poppy Hues to Use - Hollyberries

Hi there!  Today I'm sharing a card I created for Power Poppy's weekly Hues to Use.  I chose to highlight the gorgeous Hollyberries.  You can see the beautiful hues in my coloring.

I used paper from the cute Once Upon a Time digital paper collection (We Are 3) on a gorgeous background from the Framed Neutral collection (We Are 3).  

 

Wish You Luck Shamrock Cards

Today I am featured as Guest Designer at Power Poppy.  My card uses Power Poppy's Wish You Luck stamp set.  Inspiration comes in many ways - today's comes from the Hues to Use challenge.  To give my card dimension, I used two copies of the bouquet, crumpling the top layer.  I hesitated about using two layers.  It looked quite nice with just one layer, but I do love dimension.
