Birthday Party - oh, what fun!  I used this new collection for this festive card.  The image came from Kenny K Stamps - so much fun!

Sunshine

Hi, Friends!

Hope you have had a good week! Today I am sharing a card featuring Tim Holtz's Snowflake Rosette Die, along with a favorite technique of mine!  The first time I needed a denim pocket, I couldn't find any denim paper!  I found a perfect substitute....took an old pair of jeans, cut a swatch, inked it up with blue ink, and used the fabric as a stamp. I scanned that (so I would always have a denim swatch handy).  Using Photoshop, I added a yellow pocket shape on top of the denim.

I created the really cute sentiment using Word - and adhered it to the front of the card.  I finished this card off with a Prima flower and a "sun" rosette (rather than a snowflake)!  This card was made for a local SALSA swap with a "pocket" theme.

The swap also includes tags - this month's tag theme is "New Beginnings."  Here is my tag.

Father's Day and Sailboats

Last night I had a little more time to spend at my craft table, so decided to make something with the paper-piecing Sailboat file from Miss Kate Cuttables. It was fun to get away from the traditional nautical colors.

Queen of Cards #1 - Thank You, Dad

Today I have a really simple card for you. I love cards like this that have a splash of decorative paper and the sentiment is the main focus.

Scraps to Treasures - Birthday Blog Hop

Happy Birthday!  It's Scraps-to-Treasures birthday month - and we are celebrating with a Birthday-themed linky party.

I have a fun birthday card to share - made for my 2-year-old nephew who is celebrating his birthday today with a John Deere theme.  I made a step card with a tractor in the background - embellished with a tree die-cut, a jeans 2, and a fun banner in the front.  Scroll down after the card to see a close-ups of the embellishments.

Operation Write Home - Sketch Challenge #231

The Fourth of July is looming, and so in celebration I'm filling an order for some Any Hero Cards.  Since I do try to relax on Sunday, I enjoy Operation Write Home's Sunday Sketch Challenges - they allow me to accomplish a lot of crafting with very little thinking on my part.  Today's Sketch Challenge is #231.  You'll find their sketches are always useful - really versatile - and their linky parties provide you with plenty of inspiration - perfect for birthdays, celebrations, and general everyday card needs - not just for Any Hero cards!

Bursting with patriotic colors, I decided to forego the usual gorgeous embellishments and floral papers for a simple red, white, & blue card with a splash of sparkle with the silver foil background. I also turned the sketch upside down.

My second card adorns a dog tag - compliments of my financial advisor who always sends a little something for the 4th of July.  I included a small envelope on the inside of the card to hold the dog tag chain so the recipient can use the dog tag for some other purpose.

Check out Operation Write Home's Sketch Challenge - and don't forget to join in the fun and share your creation(s) with us all on the Operation Write Home blog!

Pocket Full of Sunshine

Today I am featuring my Pocket Full of Sunshine.  The denim pocket was made using a technique shared by Crafting with Sue.  It's an awesome (and simple) technique if what you're working on just really calls out for denim!
