Creative Confetti: Make a Wish Challenge

It's another week at Power Poppy, and this week's Creative Confetti Challenge is Make a Wish. They want us to use a flower we wish was growing in our gardens. This wasn't difficult for me because I wish I HAD flowers growing in my garden. That's not entirely true - I do have some beautiful Mexican Birds of Paradise and some Bottlebrush - but other than that....my potted garden flowers are all silk....and terrible faded, unfortunately, as my desire to stay out of stores these days makes it difficult to refresh them. Although I'm not a gardener (even my fake flowers look awful!) - I do love flowers....all kinds! So for this challenge I chose the Black-Eyed Susan - and in this case, blue Black-Eyed Susans?  Yes, I realize there are now blue Black-Eyed Susans, but when I color, I take full advantage of coloring flowers any color I feel like that day. :D These Black-Eyed Susans from Power Poppy were so much fun to color.

The doily was a freebie from Monica's Creative Room.  The sentiment is from We Are 3's Number Birthday set.  The beautiful mint doily is cut from Watercolor Strokes by We Are 3.  Because of the intricate cutting, you can't actually see the strokes - but the color is gorgeous!

                    

Decorate Inside and Out Challenge

As soon as I saw the Floral Doily, I couldn't wait to play. It is a beautiful collection! I added a sentiment from the Hope set. The card was made using Watercolor Strokes.

Look What's New at We Are 3

Check out the fab newbies in the We Are 3 shop! For today's card, I used Watercolor Strokes, Floral Watercolor, and Floral Doily - all new! I added a sentiment from the Hope set.

                           

Shower Gift with Xpressions Creative

WOW, I was so excited when I found the "Party My Crib" SVG from Xpressions Creative - I looked at a lot of SVGs trying to decide if I should just design my own or go for something not truly creative. This SVG, though, is fun and offers a lot of opportunity to embellish. So, this turned out to be a fun, but inexpensive, baby shower gift. The plaque was under $3 - and I was able to use scraps for all the vinyl. (The SVG was $1.25 - it will get lots of use!)

The Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge

The week at The Outlawz, the Monday Greetings Challenge is themed Masculine. My hubby today told me he expected an anniversary card - so I combined the Monday Greetings with a local SALSA challenge to make his card. Secretly, I hate making cards for my hubby - I just never have good ideas.

I chose handmade paper my sister sent me.  This is a "nested" gatefold card, as shown below.

Creative Confetti "All Boxed Up" Challenge

This week the theme at Creative Confetti is "All Boxed Up." Tell me that's not a fun challenge!

I found these deer images from Star Jam Lines - of course, I just HAD to use them for a new scrapbook for my new niece.  They are colored digitally.  Inspired by the Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy, I placed both images in boxes - somewhat "out of the box" - and cut the entire image including the background box.  The papers are from Digi Crea.  Here is a close up of the colored images.

Paper Ala Mode Pets are People, Too with The Outlawz

By now you should know that the Paper Ala Mode Challenge runs every two weeks on Saturdays. We Are 3 is the sponsor - and the prize is always some digital fun from We Are 3...not to mention a badge to display proudly on your blog. The current challenge beginning today is Pets are People, Too. I could resist coloring Puppy Dog from We Are 3 - so precious!

I think the dog turned out pretty darn cute.  I printed a sentiment from the Dog Love set.  I planned to finally use the cardboard inserts for embossing that allow you to emboss around a sentiment that I purchased years and years ago.  That was a total fail!  So instead I did the usual - cut the sentiment in a rectangle and mat.  Disappointing.  :(

                                                      

The Outlawz Progressive Freebie and Wednesday Sketch Challenges

Well, it's another month and a new progressive freebie - this month our image is Pony Plait from Hatty Clare. Tell me this isn't a fun image!

This has been one of my favorite images to color for the Progressive Freebie Challenge.  The design is inspired by both The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch and a shadow-box card class I took from Susan Bossiere.  Pony Plait is colored digitally - the flowers are pre-colored from Digi-Crea.

Have a Merry Christmas

Well, triple-digit temps are here! But I'm thinking snow. Now my background might now speak snow - but I like an album to be consistent in papers, so my holiday theme is brought out only in my embellies. The layout is made with We Are 3 digital papers - Dragonflies in Flight, and the embellishments were in my stash.  I do have lots of iridescent sequins to represent snow - but they did not photograph well at all.

Creative Confetti - Share Your Fave

On a simple white card base, I cut and embossed a small square, then added Power Poppy's Hollyberries and Poinsettia on top, added some beads...DONE! I'm entering this in the Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge (favorite Power Poppy image).

Good Morning! The new Paper Ala Mode Challenge at The Outlawz was chosen by our dear sponsor, Bonnie, and she's chosen Encouragement for our theme. My card is decked out with Seaside Anchor from We Are 3. I embellished it with pearls. The papers are from We Are 3 - Strawberry Jam - one of my favorite collections. The sentiment is from the Hope set.

Thank You using We Are 3

This week I spoke to a Tucson friend who got stuck in California quarantine while visiting her son. Here in Arizona, the Saguaro cacti are blooming - and she's missing all that. So am sending her a card using digis from We Are 3.

It's a simple card - but I did want to add some interest with dimension. So I printed and cut a second cactus. I scored it in half and glued only the left half to the card base. I added flowers to the front of the cactus. Fold at the score line, and the second half of the sentiment is revealed. I added more flowers to the open cactus.

                        

Welcome to our new Nephew

This week we welcomed a new nephew - I had some fun making him some quarantine shirts.

So there ya go.  It's been a while since I've made any shirts.  These were fun - quick and easy.

Featured Stamper Challenge

When I saw this week's Featured Stamper gallery - this card in particular - I knew I'd be using goodies from my stash. I kind of enjoy selecting a card to case and THEN seeing what's in my stash. Pretty fit for a cat lover - and clean and simple enough.

Stick It Down (Sketch Challenge)

Oh, what a challenge from Stick It Down this month! Simple scrapbook layouts - I love simple!!! I used Little Star papers to create this two-page layout. I flipped the sketch horizontally, added some Washi tape and borders from my stash, and used some alphabet die cuts that I think I purchased 15 years ago when I first started papercrafting!

Fabulous Darcy's Garden and Florals at We Are 3

Happy Spring! This month our sweet and talented design team member, Darch, is celebrating her birthday. For her birthday, Bonnie created some beautiful papers and wreaths - Darcy's Garden and Darcy's Florals. This is a pretty simple card - but it doesn't take much to dress up a card with Darcy's Florals.

With the popped-up wreath, this card really does look cuter in person.  

                    

Darcy's Birthday Celebration

What a fabulous way to celebrate Design Team member Darcy's birthday month - Bonnie made some unbelievably cute papers and printables - Darcy's Garden and Darcy's Florals. Tell me these aren't the most precious digitals ever! I cut the center out from the background of a layered doily to make a frame. I pulled the beautiful Florals through the frame.
