Meet the Couple

Meet Camille
Camille is the daughter of the late William and Sadie Timoszyk.  She is currently the Executive Director for East Central Michigan Education Consortium.

After graduating from Northern Michigan University with a B.S. Degree in Business and Office Education, Camille made her home in Ubly, Michigan.  She taught commercial courses at Ubly Community Schools for ten years, evolving from teaching typing and shorthand to computer skills.  As careers requiring computer skills were opening, Camille  moved on to teach Vocational Data Processing at the Huron Area Technical Center.  She later became Placement Director.  Her experience in curriculum development at the Tech Center somehow qualified her to become Curriculum Specialist for Language Arts and Social Studies for Huron County.

Desiring to get back into computer training, Camille moved on to Tuscola Intermediate School District as Technology Coordinator.  She later accepted the position of Executive Director for the East Central Michigan Education Consortium, overseeing professional development programs for teachers in eight counties and supervising the School-Land Security Program for schools in East Central Michigan.

During this time, Camille "patiently" waited for love to complete her life.  Meanwhile, she filled her life with work, bowling, friends, family, her '65 Mustang, and a love for trains.  She even had the opportunity to engineer "The Polar Express."

Meet Gene
Gene is the son of Joyce Hadden and the late Eugene Short.  Gene is the stepson of the late Robert Hadden.  Gene has a son, Eugene, and a daughter, Ashley.  Gene currently works for NBC Truck Equipment in the Engineering Department.
Gene attended Kirkland College.  Before pursuing a career in the truck-equipment industry, Gene worked for the railroad.  He is an avid hunter and fisherman.  He also enjoys his vintage 1977 Harley-Davidson Sportster.  He enjoys keeping old things running - his Harley, Camille's 1965 Mustang Convertible, and Camille herself.
Gene brings with him two children.  Gene's son, Eugene, is stationed at Norfolk, Virginia, in the Navy.  Ashley is in high school.

How We Met
Camille and Gene met online July, 2001.  After enjoying an "e-mail" romance for several months, they finally agreed to meet Halloween Day.  Their first date included a trip to the Trackside Bar in Reese.  Having never shared their interests in railroads before this meeting, both were surprised at having this common interest.  Camille called their visit at the Trackside "fate."  When it came time to plan their wedding, they actively sought the help of the General Manager at Crossroads Village.  Camille and Gene were fortunate to be able to board all their guests on the Huckleberry Railroad to witness their exchange of vows.  Since that time, Camille and Gene have enjoyed several train excursions, planning to celebrate each anniversary with a train ride.
