Quick and Simple Desert Layout

Happy Thursday! This week I've spent time getting caught up on some scrapbooking. For this layout, I dug into my stash and used some things that complimented my cactus photo.
Now, if you're in the mood to see some beautiful desert foliage, be sure to come out and visit us to see the gorgeous cacti - they are sure to put a smile on your face, especially if you are leaving dirty winter weather in the Midwest Spring.

Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy

It feels good to be catching up on my scrapbooking - here's another layout - this one for the Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy using their daisy from the free Kindness is the Way set.
It's a pretty straight-forward layout - layers and flowers.  LOL!  For a little dimension, I cut two sizes of daisies, made a few snips, and curled the ends for dimension.  Here's a close-up of the flowers.
The paper is from We Are 3's Dragonflies in Flight.  I love it!

Splitcoast Stampers - Featured Stamper Challenge

This week at We Are 3, I've been in the Christmas spirit. I've had fun playing with the Christmas ornaments. I kept this card simple just adding some ribbon, along with the hanging ornament. Mighty simple! Be sure to stop by the We Are 3 Facebook page to see fabulous cards by the Design Team. They are pulling out all the stops!

'Tis the Season at We Are 3

I'm really enjoying the new Christmas release. I so love the Christmas ornaments - they make it easy to make some elegant cards. I can see myself printing/cutting lots of different sizes for last-minute cards in December. Remember, these come in blackline, as well - so you can personalize your ornaments with your own colors. The paper is from the 'Tis the Season collection - the ornaments are called "Tis the Season Ornament and Shabby Christmas Ornament.
Arranging the ornaments is really fun.  I use scraps from some copper foil stickers for the hangers.

Life's Too Short

I created this layout for the single-page sketch challenge at Stick It Down using a few bits from We Are 3. Patterned papers come from Look Up, and the wreath sentiment is from the Early Bird collection (certainly should have been printed larger). You can buy We Are 3 at Etsy

Stick It Down! - Sketch Challenge

After a long hiatus from scrapbooking (to work on other projects), I created this layout for the Sketch Challenge at Stick It Down. I must say I missed a few of my favorite challenges terribly. The book I am making for my sister's friends is using Dragonflies in Flight as the color scheme. Although this is a Christmas layout, I still used the same color theme - just adding a Christmas touch with some ornaments ('Tis the Season Ornament  and Shabby Christmas Ornament). The flowers are cut from a pattern from the 'Tis the Season paper collection. I matted all the photos in gray and added some sequins. Remember, if you love scrapbook sketches, Stick It Down is the place to be. There's two layout sketches every month.  I also used a sentiment from Tea Tags.  All these products are from We Are 3.

Creepy Cute Halloween

I did this one for The Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge using Creepy Cute Cafe from our sponsor, Lizzy Love at Oddball Art. You can buy it HERE. It a color challenge today, using Autumn Colors. So, of course, with that for inspiration, I just HAD to color the Creepy Cute Cafe. The Cafe is colored with a mixture of digital coloring and digital paper piecing. I create four copies of the image and popped up some pieces for dimension...then added a little fiber.

The 70s and Another SALSA Swap

Today the card swap theme for SALSA is That 70's Thing.
I used Cool Hippie Flower Power Peace Van from Oddball Art - I received this image as part of the Design Team at Paper Ala Mode.  I have to say, this was one of my favorite images to color.  For background paper, I used some hand-marbled paper from Heidi Marie Finley.

The Gift Bag Swap with SALSA and Pumpkin Delight

This month the gift bag swap at SALSA is Fall/Thanksgiving. Well, I did have my troubles as I think I've pretty much lost all my mojo. The image is from Pumpkin Delight....the rest scraps from my stash.

Anything Goes - Eclips Challenge

Friends from Traverse City spent last week with us. One night Becky gave my hubby a break and prepared dinner. So I made this towel for her. The towel already had the cactus image - I just added the wording. Pretty simple - I was able to make after she went to sleep one night...fortunate I had the right colors in my stash. :D

Eclips Users Group October Challenge

Here's a project I did with my favorite tool - the Eclips. I've kind of always wanted some Wall Art Sayings - but not sure what to do. I received this beautiful painting for my birthday. My hubby wanted it in the kitchen, along with the framed artist bio next to it. He wanted it placed on the wall where people didn't have to climb over chairs to get a good look....which left half the wall bare. So I decided to try my hand at Wall Art. When I had the quote on the cutting mat, I worried it would be far too large for the wall, even though I measured "carefully."  Hah! It's far too small! My hubby's fix is to hang our wedding wall hanging....but I didn't quite leave enough for it to fit. Not liking the look - but perhaps after the holidays I will remove the quote and attempt an off-the-mat quote - nice and large - and hopefully in a nicer arrangement that allows me to hang the wedding wall hanging.

Think Rain in the Desert

What to get a seven-year-old for his birthday? My neighbor visited me a couple weeks ago, and I asked what he wanted for his birthday. He said he really wanted an umbrella - black with blue. He said his mom doesn't think he needs an umbrella (we live in the desert). So I got him a black umbrella and added some blue raindrops - and a sun, 'cuz a lot of people here use umbrellas more for sun than rain. I swear - you would have thought I bought him a pony!!!!!! He was soooo excited....then his 4-year-old sister - who is never jealous when her big brother has a birthday - comes to me in tears because she doesn't have an umbrella. So she has her order in for a pink umbrella with rainbows. Think I might have to invest in a lot of umbrellas for the little munchkins I know. Didn't realize they are a hot item. LOL! Didn't get a great photo of the umbrella, unfortunately.  But Lucas' enthusiasm makes an old lady happy.

Featured Stamper at Splitcoast

This week at Featured Stamper, Diana Gibson is featured.  I was inspired by her Rustic Christmas because I had some stamp images in my stash I could finally break out.  But they didn't work for me after all, so I pulled out a Christmas sentiment instead.  I embossed the background with none other than woodgrain.  Pretty simple - I just added a rumpled bow.  Be sure to stop by Splitcoast to see the fabulous cards inspired by Diana.

Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper Challenge

I was a little late for last week's Featured Stamper Challenge - but made up a card nonetheless. I chose the sweet and wonderful Frost Covered Flowers for my inspiration. I wanted to do something a little different, so I pulled out Santa and the Tucson skyscape. The inspiration from Kari's card came from her printed background. I made a Christmas card using paper from the Electronics collection from We Are 3. The sentiment came from my stash.
Be sure to stop by the We Are 3 Facebook Page to see what the design team has been cooking up.  You can always count on them to bring a smile to your face.

Pink Ribbon Challenge

We received some of the coolest images from Oddball Art, and I couldn't wait to use these adorable flowers from Lizzy Love for this week's Challenge at Paper Ala Mode. Tell me these flowers aren't beautiful! I printed the original stamp on the larger portion of my step card, then printed another copy, fussy cut the flowers, and strategically placed them on the front portion of the step card. The Grandmother sentiment is from my stash.

Be sure to stop by The Outlawz to see more adorable cards with pink ribbons (theme).  We have a new challenge every two weeks.  Also visit The Outlawz Facebook page where ideas and inspiration abound.

Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge

I really enjoy Power Poppy's challenges these days because they force me to practice my coloring. By far my favorite digital images are flowers. This week's Creative Confetti asks us to make a card using flowers that match our personality.  I chose Power Poppy's Luminous Bouquet - its main focus is a large peony...a flower "regarded as an omen of good fortune and a happy marriage." My mother used to grow purple peonies. I colored the rest of the bouquet in yellows, as I love purple and yellow together.
Coloring was really fun!  I used some paper from my stash for the background - and a frame using Spring Butterflies, Too from We Are 3.

Fall- Themed - World Card Making Day Challenge

Saturday was World Card Making Day, and Power Poppy is celebrating with a Fall-themed challenge. Pop by HERE to join the fun.

I have to say, coloring these fall leaves from Love SVG was a challenge - but I'm happy with how they turned out.  I had to wait for my order of Un-Du to arrive today before completing my card, because I was so excited with how my leaves looked, I put my card together upside down!  The leaves are from Love's Fall Leaves.  The paper is from We Are 3's Howdy Autumn.

Be sure to pop on over to We Are 3 to see all the cool cards created by the Design Team...and join Power Poppy's challenge, and you can win a $25 gift card to their store.  You still have time - challenge open until October 10.

Freebie Progressive Meets Cute Halloween

Time for another challenge at The Outlawz Progressive Freebie! This month it's Winnie Wednesday Dogbat from Polkadoodles. I decided to paper piece Winnie Wednesday's outfit using patterns from Cute Halloween (We Are 3)...the bright orange background also comes from the Cute Halloween collection. I teamed her up with a haunted house. How fun! I cut both on my Eclips and pop dotted them on a layered-doily heart-shaped card. This card is also for the Stashbuster challenge for Eclips Users (I pulled the heart svg, house, svg, and moon sticker out of my stash).
This image is so sweet....soooooo cute!  Now if you love Winnie Wednesday and her Batdog, you MUST check out the Freebie Progressive Challenge.  If you're not familiar with the challenge, be sure to read the rules on how you can receive this digi FREE.

We Are 3's Halloween Night

Today I chose paper from the Halloween Night collection. The Gnomes is my Garden is from Beccy's Place - isn't he fun?
Of course, I did a bit of popping on my gnome to made him three dimensional.

The sentiment is computer generated.  Be sure to stop by We Are 3's Facebook page to see fabulous creations by other Design Team members - and remember, we love it when you share!
