Sweet and FREE Digi

Since I learned Print-2-Cut on my Sizzix eClip 2 - I just love using images in a new way without taking much more time.  Here is a free digit from Angie's Cards and Digis - paired up with some scraps leftover and a birthday sentiment I won from Heartfelt Creations.  The grapes are free clip art from Apple Clip Art.

Scrappin' Background

Page 18 of Nathan's scrapbook - and I'm running out of mojo and running out of coordinated papers.  But still pleased with the simplicity of this page...can't wait to have pictures of Baby Nathan to insert.

Page 16 with Baby Nathan

Today I was going for a playful page for not-yet-born Nathan (Page 17).  The page is accented with a Cute Penguin by Raccoon Girl Design. The fun background is Daily Junque by House of Three (misted with white paint)...and the layers some scraps from previous pages.  My inspiration for the layout comes from Scrapping Everyday Miracles January Challenge.

Layered Paper Play

This layout is inspired by the challenge at One Stitch at a Time #254 - Anything Goes with Tic Tac Toe.  I chose the top row - three of more layers, lots of blue, and pearls.

I used Bo Bunny Double Dots Brilliant Blue for a fun and bold background and a variety of layers.  Strip pearls add a subtle finishing touch along some edges.

Playing with Scraps

It's easy to use us scraps to achieve a customized look.  This zig-zag design was completed in just a few steps - cutting the scraps into parallelograms.  To save time in lining up the scraps, I took an old sheet of 12 x 12 - and cut the image in the middle.  Placing that template on top of my page, lining up the scrap pieces took no time...creating a fun and unique background.

Focus on my Stash

Do you collect extra cuts you make?  I dipped into my stash of extras to embellish this layout - adding extra circles here and there for color.

Create Your Own Bouquet

This card is for a swap for a local group SALSA - Mystery Item - with the Mystery Item being bead clusters.  I wish I had taken a picture of the original item so you could see the transformation.  I used come complementary patterns to show off the mystery embellishment in the form of a bouquet of flowers in a pot.  Simple but eye-catching.

Using my Stash

When I'm in a hurry, I choose to simplify my design processing using Googled photos of layouts.  Paperclipping shares a layout that inspired me to incorporate a variety of patterns and embellishments for, hopefully, an eye-catching layout (Nathan's Baby Shower Scrapbook - Page 13).
Entering into Challenge at Simple Create Too - Something New (New Baby).

Making Words Work for You

This card is for for a card swap with our local SALSA group - the theme is Words.  I went for a Valentine theme - with Valentine words....using Tagul....a quick and easy method of making word clouds.
We also swap tags - this month's theme is Valentine.  To save time, I used the same Tagul heart - quick and easy.

Scrappin' with Penguins

I slacked off yesterday, so made up for it today with a two-page layout for Nathan's book (pages 10 and 11).  I wanted a different way to incorporate penguins (theme of book is "Baby, It's Cold Outside." So I enlarged the images to be a major focus on the page...and am loving them!

Playful Patterns

The current challenge at Use Your Stuff #207 to use three or more patterns inspired this layout - mixing and matching patterns to create a fun way to showcase a single photo.  The colors I chose go with the rest of Nathan's book (this is Page 9) - a variety of blues to welcome Nathan in March.  The patterned papers I used for this layout include Daily Junque - Numbers (Pink Paislee), Treasure - Divine (Authentique), and Mother Goose (Authentique).

Customized Baby Layout

This page (Page 8 of Nathan's book) incorporated Mommy and Daddy's favorite football team for a fun pop.    A die-cut title from Miss Kate Cuttables was used and a Cute Penguins digital image from Raccoon Girl Design.

Spray Mist Background

I tend to steer away from spray mists - but today added some white to my background with some homemade spray mist - for almost a tone on tone background. - Page 6 of Nathan's scrapbook baby shower gift.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Cute penguins are key components of this page.  "Baby, It's Cold Outside" is the theme for my former coworker's baby shower.  This is one page of the photo album gift I am making for her - the photos on this page will be her invitation and others at her shower in February.

This layout is inspired by the January Stash Challenge #34 from Scrap Our Stash.  The inspiration is the cover of "The Cat in the Hat."  I used the blue/cream colors shown on the cover for my backgrounds...as well as the snow for my "Baby, It's Cold Outside" theme - embellished by the penguins standing in snow (white paint).

Another Circle Background

Since I had the cutting file all ready to go, I decided to use the same idea as my last post for a circle effect (inspired by Michigan Scrapbooker, Winter 2011-2012) using my electronic cutter.  A nice simple layout.

Adding Interest with Circles

Set your scrapbook layouts apart with some simple cuts - such as circles.  The circles (inspired by Michigan Scrapbooker, Winter 2011-2012) add fun and texture to the background.  These circles also make this the perfect entry for the current challenge at Moving Along, With Time - Spots and Dots.

Big and Bold Beginnings

An electronic cutting machine such as my Sizzix eClips is great for personalizing projects. My next project is a scrapbook for a former co-worker's baby-on-the-way.  This is the first page - their big announcements.

Dotted Paper Play

A bold, clean and simple card using Bo Bunny Paprika Double Dotted cardstock and Posy Patch stamp from Heartfelt Creations.  The sentiment is from Baer Design Studios.  A nice simple card to enter into challenge at Moving Along, with the Times - Spots and Dots.

Fun and Fast Cardmaking

For this card, I'm using a fairly large image (Blomsterflicka from Carinas Freebies) as the anchor - embellished with a posy from Heartfelt Creations.  I used Photoshop with red, black, and white to tie the image together with the cardstock used from Bo Bunny.
This card is being entered into the challenge at CCC Digi Creations - Anything Goes.

2016 - Get Creative

NEW is the focus of this week's challenge at Get Creative.  We have a unique sponsor for this challenge - Rick St. Dennis.  His work is fun and quirky - I could not resist using his image "I Got Decorating to do."  I am very close to becoming this woman since I've retired - so for me it was a good reminder that perhaps New Year's Resolutions do have some merit.
Check out the challenge at Get Creative - we are starting off the year with some fun inspiration from the design team.  Then share your link to a "new" project.

Pittsburgh Bound

464
Grandchildren provide lots of fun photos to create a scrapbook of photos, memories, and scrappin' techniques.  For this layout I was inspired by Sketch 464 from Scrapbook Challenges - an arrangement that's pleasing to the eye.  For a slightly different effect, I turned the layout on its side.
This is the last page of my Grandson's second scrapbook . . . and will be Pittsburgh bound tomorrow morning.  We don't have much contact with our grandson - parents too busy to Skype with last Christmas being the last time we visited online.  We've been able to visit Pittsburgh only twice - when he was born and when he turned one in May.  So he doesn't know us at all.  I wanted to at least provide an image that maybe he will at least be able to put faces to the names Grandpa and Grandma.

I also recently purchased the Fuse Tool and have been trying to find time to use it in a layout.  So we video taped a special message for Adrian and hid it beneath the third photo, as shown in this next close up.  This is fast and easy, once you get the hang of it!  The real question is will it withstand the tiny hands of a one-year-old boy.
The message contains a code to STKR.IT.  When scanned, he will see this video of us blowing kisses to him.  I
