My Rolling Wheels

Today's card is for a local swap - theme is "Merrily We Roll Along." Yes, I realize that song is more nautical - but when I think of rolling wheels, I think of my trains. So I made a Christmas card spotlighting my favorite Christmas theme - the Polar Express.

Hello, Mom and Dad

I'm a newcomer to Scrap Africa and wow!  This blog is so stunning with its beautiful inspiration - and I love the rustic colors.  Thanks, Scrap Africa - so happy to be entering my first challenge with you (#69)!
This page is one page out of four scrapbooks I am making for my husband's siblings of their childhood.  It's not my usual style to have the cutesie sentiments you see, but I found these among the boxes of photos and decided to include them as they were of some importance for my mother-in-law to keep them.

Digital Embellishment

With this post, you can see how easy it is to create a clean-and-simple card using a digital image.  Intended to be a congratulations card, the inside sentiment is "Holy Cow!"  The image is "I Love Moo" from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

Create and Celebrate my In-Laws' Wedding

Today I was inspired by Lasting Memories Color Challenge #280.

I spent a leisurely Saturday afternoon playing with the Rustic Stack from DCWV.  It has the rustic colors that I see in the sand and taupe - then added some Bazill, Bo Bunny, and a bit of Simple Stories to bring in the blues.  Totally my cup of tea.

I absolutely LOVE how the finished page turned out! This is the fourth page using this photo of my in-laws (making scrapbooks for all my husband's siblings).  This layout has to be my favorite.

Memory Keeping

Isn't Feeling Sketchy's Challenge #139 amazing?  For some reason, it kept screaming layout at me - rather than card.  So today's page is of my grandson crawling beneath a chair - hiding from Mommy.  Unfortunately, parents don't allow me to share my wonderful memories - so no baby picture.
Be Happy - this is a stickie rub-on sentiment covered with glitter.  These rub-ons were so very popular when I first began scrappin' 11 years ago - I still remember the ah-hah moment I found these in a Ben Franklin . . . that day was full of them - wandering into the craft aisle not knowing there were so many cool scrappin' toys!  Still brings chills to me. LOL!  Same chills as I used this sentiment today to find out it's still sticky - still such an awesome embellishment that leaves such a clean, classy image.

February Birthday

My stepdaughter, Ashley, is just beautiful.  I know you may think I am biased, but I remember shopping trips with her with little old ladies stopping us to tell her how pretty she was.  As a young woman now, I enjoy visiting her Amazon wish list and seeing fun party dresses she's selected.  I think this birthday card will go great with my birthday purchase.

March Scraps

I have become a master of saving all kinds of scraps.  Today, I put aside an hour or so devoted just to figuring out how to use some of that pile.  Most cards aren't worth sharing - but I'm pretty pleased with these two.

Christmas Cactus

What's a crafter to do? I was playing with my new cactus images - made a few cards that ended up in the trash. Got up to get a cup of tea - and pretty much simultaneously knocked over my packet of Christmas paper and red bling - What's a crafter to do? Make some cards with Christmas Cacti, of course! Just a couple of quickies.

Sketch Challenge: Wedding Layout

470
Happy Monday, Everyone!

Popping in with an entry for Sketch #470 at Scrapbook Challenges.  It was a paper kind of day - but I'll be quiet for a while as I get my St. Patrick's Day cards ready.

For this challenge, I made a layout of my in-laws for one of my hubby's siblings.  I am using the fabulous papers from DCWV - The Rustic Stack.  It's a little bit country - and little bit elegance...but always puts out an adorable project sure to delight my in-laws.
The sentiment is from Baer Design Studios - the digital image is I Love You by Kajsan.  Wishing you a great week!

How to Get New Ideas

I'm often stuck in a creative paper rut - so I turn to challenges and sketches to get more creative with my work.  Today's inspiration comes from Scrapping Everyday Miracles February Sketch Challenge. The card itself is one of many I am making for residents on Neebish Island, Michigan.

Creating with Heart

Today's challenge at Get Creative Challenges is all about using hearts...sponsored by Robyn's Fetish.  My design uses Tommy Valentine Toad.   Be sure to join in the fun!

Can You Case It?

Happy Super Bowl Day!  I hope you enjoy today's game!  I also hope your team wins.  Me?  While I await the fun commercials, I'm spending the day playing with some beautiful papers and fun challenges.  This post shares my entry to Can You Case It #106 - Sketch Challenge.

Lots of Challenge Inspirations

I am always impressed when I visit bloggers who make a card entered into challenge after challenge after challenge.  I am always so focused - I pick out that one challenge requirement and concentrate on that.  Today, however, I broke out of that mold - with the help of Amy's Amazing Cards.

Here is my entry - a Valentine's Day card for my hubby.  For his gift, I will be treating him to lunch at the Crystal Palace in Tombstone - and take him shopping for a new Stetson.  Thanks, Challenges, for your inspiration!

Allsorts Inspiration- Clean and Simple

There's a Clean-and-Simple challenge at Allsorts Challenge Blog (Week 349)!  And all you have to do to enter is link up your clean and simple project, so enter today!  Here is my clean and simple entry.  The image is from Art Vintage 1800s - already colored.  I've printed and cut several to have on hand when I need a quick Southwest card...so perfect for this challenge.
Additional challenge entries:

Valentine Paper Piecing

Sami Stamps Challenge #34 calls for paper piecing - and that's what I love most about Valentine Rose - so much fun to paper piece.  I used scraps of cardstock to create the card. I enlarged Rose's heart haif and used them as embellishments at the bottom.

Seeking approval to use digital files to teach papercrafting classes could be a full-time job!  Little Scraps of Heaven wants to know what I teach, so made a quick card to hopefully explain my purpose better.  So using their one of their freebies, I whipped up this quick card to send as an example.  I fell in love with the plaid paper years ago and still had some left - loving it even more with the dotted paper.  Add a cute image, and you have all you need for a quick and easy card.

Haunting Halloween in the Desert

I've always loved making Halloween cards - seems you can slap some orange and some black and a ghost or two on it - and everyone loves it.  I wanted to make some desert-themed Halloween cards - and I'm having a harder time with that.  But here's one - inspired by the challenge at Moving Along with the Times #13 - Things with Wings.  Let's take a look . . .It's simple - but it's a star.

Throwback Thursday for my In-Laws

Thanks for joining me today for the first page of the family album for my husband's siblings - where it all began with their parents' wedding.  The layout is inspired by the February sketch challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.

Celebrate a Birthday

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 131 Inspiration Piece (image)
I wanted to make something simple tonight.  When I saw the Papercrafting Challenge #131 - the New Yorker Magazine, I quickly put this card together - Inspired by the colors of the magazine cover. I have penguin images left over from a scrapbook.  I added a birthday hat - and a quick sentiment.  Some pretty embossed cardstock just finished the card off.
