Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge

Merry Christmas to you all! Well, the season is over - and I finally have my decorations stored. Now, what better time to get started on next year's cards? This week at Power Poppy, the Creative Confetti challenge is a sketch challenge. I decided to use the Hollyberries. I used soft blues and We Are 3's January release, Snowmen paper collection.
You'll be amazed at all of the adorable cards entered into the Creative Confetti challenge, so pop on over there.

Shore Do Miss You - the Featured Stamper Challenge

This week's Featured Stamper is Love Ribbons - I chose this card to case. Ooooo, Fun! It just so happened that I have an old freebie from Kadoodle Bug that would be perfect for a case - Seashell Cricket. I also used We Are 3 Christmas Magic paper for the "water" and sequins for bubbles.
Other stampers did an amazing job with this challenge, and it's fun.  So come and play along.

We Are 3 Look Up Layout

To be honest, I wasn't all that excited about our first snowfall this year because I moved to Arizona to live in the desert!  I used We Are 3's Look Up paper collection for my backgrounds.
Well, I've got to say that once I heard the neighbor kids giggling as the played in the snow, my spirits lifted - and this also turned out to be a favorite layout.  Pretty simple.  I added some old distressed alphabet stickers in my stash.  I dug into my Christmas stash for a snowflake.  Cool, huh?  (No pun intended.)  Be sure to pop over to the We Are 3 shop to see all the fabulous and creative papers Bonnie creates.

Pineapple Bouquet - We Are 3

Pineapple Bouquet is probably one of my favorite digital images - but before now, I haven't taken the time to color it. You can find the image at We Are 3.
My incentive for coloring this image today is the current Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy - to use a fruity image. I had to make a digital card, as my printer is out of commission - hopefully the part will be in this weekend....and praying even more that I'll be able to figure out how to exchange parts! I'm having withdrawal symptoms here without a printer and the ability to make cards. I need a card for my neighbor's birthday and ended up sending the image to Walmart for printing. Will be interesting to see how that turns out!

The Outlawz Color Challenge

My printer needs a part that won't be in for another week or two, so digging into my stash for a challenge or two.  This is a combination of Look Up paper and a Darice embossing folder.  The Look Up pattern is from We Are 3.  The challenge is a Color Challenge at The Outlawz using a Bingo card.  My diagonal line calls for brightly-colored sequins and pink swiss dot ribbon.  I really love how it turned out.

The SALSA Gift Bag Swap

This month at our local SALSA group, we are beginning a gift-bag swap - this month's theme is Hearts Galore. I enjoyed making this gift bag and am pretty pleased with the results.

Featured Stamper meets Twice as Nice

I really enjoy the Featured Stamper challenge CASING others' work - and I especially love it when I can combine this with my local SALSA swap. All of the featured stamper's cards this week were soooo cute, but I chose this card. The floral image made me immediately think of using a two-flower image - perfect for my "twice" theme. I cut the circle for the shaker, the frame, and the flowers on my Eclips. I added a computer-generated sentiment both on the front and inside of the card - "Have a nice day... ...then another one" for my Twice as Nice theme. Woo Hoo! The sentiment idea was the hardest!

It's so much fun playing along with the Featured Stamper because there is always amazing inspiration.

Paper Ala Mode Winter Snow Challenge

Don't you just love it when a challenge truly inspires you?  I was thrilled with this week's challenge at Paper Ala Mode with a Winter Snow theme.  Our sponsor has lots of fun digis - include lots of FREE digis - that work so well with this theme.  In fact, I used two digis for this card - Snowfolk and Pine Forest.  The gold trim is from my stash of Elizabeth Craft Designs stickers that I haven't used in ages.  I was inspired by a card on Pinterest that used these border stickers around an oval - I had never thought of using them that way.  I think the end result is just yummy!  Be sure to stop by the Paper Ala Mode challenge and see how the Design Team rocked this challenge!  You'll be amazed!

Look Up - It's Snowing

This month at We Are 3, we have lots of new releases. For this layout, I chose Snowman Wonderland and Snowman Scene for my embellishments - I thought they fit nicely with my holiday photos. The patterned papers are from the Look Up collection, and the holly accent is from the Holly Berry collection. I printed small version of the snowmen and created tags, accented with burlap string. Be sure to take a look at all the yummy cards the design team has created for the January release.

Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge - Half and Half

What a fun challenge this week at Power Poppy! Julie chose to make a card with contrasting colors - thus a split card front was our challenge. Of course, as I read the post, I picked up on certain words and didn't process the rest. So yes, my card is a contrast of two colors - but I chose a lattice pattern rather than split my card in half. Maybe it's old age speaking - but it sure seems I've been making up my own rules lately!  Technically my card is half and half - half purple and half white.  Entering my card anyways, though - as I am very proud of my pansies that took me nearly all day to color!
The flowers are from the Pansies digital set.  These just could be my new faves.  The background is Lattice 46 from Monica's Creative Room.  I added the contrasting border embossed with Swiss Dots.  I offset the flowers and colored two sets (different sizes) to make my bouquet a bit larger to balance my design.

Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge

In honor of the New Year, the Creative Confetti challenge last week was to create a card featuring either the New (baby) or Father Time (masculine).  I used Elephant (Sasayaki Glitter) because I thought it would made an adorable baby card.  Isn't it cute?  I finished it off with a tiny blue bow.
I'm loving Power Poppy challenges - really improving my coloring; and you don't have to use Power Poppy images to play along (though they are my favorites!!!)  I have a new image I purchased that's been burning a hole in my computer wanting to be colored - lol!  Just wasn't a good image for this challenge.  But I see this week's challenge will be perfect for the image.  Can't wait to get started!

The Outlawz Crash Your Stash Challenge

Isn't it fun to find new challenges? You never know what you're going to find. Hop on over to The Outlawz - they have a fun new challenge - Crash Your Stash. This just might be a good way of using up that stash you bought years ago and never used. This month's challenge item is eyelets. I have to admit I had a hard time finding where I stashed my eyelets or the tools to use them. I finally remembered a variety pack of 4th of July embellies I bought several years ago - and here's how I used them.
The image and papers are from We Are 3 - Snowman Scene and Snowmen digital papers.  These fun new papers provide inspiration for fun and simple Christmas cards.  If you haven't checked them out, you must by clicking here.

The We Are 3 January Release

This month at We Are 3, we have some cute images and papers. Here's some simple inspiration. I used patterned paper from the Snowmen collection. The sentiment from the Snow Days collection is nice and simple - printed on the patterned paper from the Snowmen collection. I added some faux stitching. The image is Hello Snowman, and I added additional snowflakes to balance the card. I just love how the three layers of the same plaid pattern looks. This was a fun card to make. Why don't you check out the new winter papers, images, and sentiments at We Are 3!

We Are 3 January Release

Below is the first card in a long time that I took some time to give dimension. I printed two copies of Snowman Wonderland and hung with a burlap string through a die-cut opening in the front of the card. Yeah!!!! I'm off the "simple" train!
The Snowman Wonderland is a We Are 3 pre-colored image, and the sentiment is a digi stamp from We Are 3 - Snow Body collection.  The patterned papers are from the Snowmen collection.  If you want to get started on next year's Christmas card, you can't go wrong with the fun images and papers Bonnie has over at We Are 3.  Only 350 more days 'til Christmas!  But there's still time!

The Outlawz Color Challenge - Reflection

What a fun challenge this week at The Outlawz Color Challenge! But once again I failed to "remember" the details - and my card does not include a reflection! Of course, I couldn't resist still sharing the card with you.
Be sure to stop by the Color Challenge, though, to see all the fabulous reflective creations...please go play along.

The Outlawz Progressive Challenge

The Progressive Challenge this month is to use Sheepski Designs Bear Love. Isn't it cute?
I decided to digitally paper piece the "love." I finished it off by adding some faux stitching and simple layering. I'm loving the Progressive Challenge - and what a fun way to get a surprise digi and challenge each month.

Featured Stamper and Eclips Users Group Challenges

I've been wanting to learn to Scan 2 Cut on my Eclips - so took some time on New Year's Eve for the Featured Stamper Challenge. The video I watched was not at all easy to understand - yet it must have been better than I thought, as my first cut was perfect! All in all, I like the way the card turned out.

More Paper Ala Mode

Just a simple card today - but so much fun coloring this image (Five Golden Rings) from Beccy's Place. That fur!!! I embossed just one corner of the card for a different effect. The papers are from the Dreamy Creamy collection from We Are 3. The sentiment is computer generated and framed with a scalloped oval. Then just added some pop dots. Simple, quick, and relaxing coloring.

A Vintage Pop-Up

Here's a fun vintage pop-up card I made - Pinterest inspired. It was a fun card to make....and fairly easy, as it is a simple pop-up.

I designed the pop-up on my Eclips.  I used new We Are 3 papers and fun elements.  The papers are from the Vintage Bird collection, including the birds in the birdcage.  I added the birdcage from Raccoon Girl Design (Birdcage Silhouette).

The new Winter Windows and Window Layers are popped up for added dimension.  The Argyle borders added some texture.  Some simple embossed lines around the edges were added to enhance the front.

I used a sentiment from my stash - conveniently sized, and matted with some Vintage Bird paper.  This was really a fun card to make.  Be sure to stop by We Are 3 to see all of Bonnie's fabulous new designs for January.  They are only a download away.
