Blended Canvas with We Are 3

I'm excited to share a new paper collection with you featuring blending and texture...Blended Canvas (We Are 3).

For my card pictured above, take notice of the color variations in the background and the textured embossed design of the paper.  I increased the size of the paper to really make the texture pop.  This subtle background adds a lot of interest to the card.

Documenting Christmas with A Cup of Sweetness by Mirtillamente

Hello, Everyone!  they say it's finally fall - though the temps here are still triple digit.  However, cooler temperatures are on their way and following is Christmas - inspiring me to create!

Today I'm excited to share a Christmas card - infused with paper designed for fall using the newest paper collection available at We Are 3.  I incorporated the beautiful Autumn Shadows and the fun A Cup of Sweetness by Mirtillamente on this card to celebrate my two favorite seasons.  Mirtillamente is sponsoring this month's Kerst Christmas Challenge.

The monotone colors were perfect for this, and I used several of the paper patterns to digitally paper piece the hat, scarf, and teacup.

I cut several copies of the image and layered the pieces to provide dimension.  Then I added a single poinsettia.  This paper collection is perfect for fall, but the gorgeous patterns and monotones are so rich!

To add additional contrast and texture, I added a frame from Monica's Creative Room.

Sketch Fun with Paige Evans

Here today with a layout using a sketch.

When working with sketches, I try to envision which elements I can make digitally to help the process go smoothly.  Grab the computer, keyboard, and mouse!

Using Word, I created the concentric circles. Paige used stitching...so I changed the line type to be dashed.  I adhered flowers along the circle lines.

This is a red, white, and blue background - so I made the large flowers grey to stand out...accented with red and blue flowers.

For this layout, I used a title from my stash - Sweet Child of Mine.  Unfortunately, I don't remember who created the title.

Once I had the elements together, this is when I selected a splash from - Yeah, don't remember where it came from either.  For the flower centers, I used Stickles.

Happy Times

Autumn is my favorite time of year to create goofy little projects.  Cute critters and fall flowers are wonderful accents to fall projects.  I am joining a weekend crop with a new bunch of scrappin' friends, and I'm taking this fun little project to share with everyone....this little guy will be a fun embellishment to the pages we create to remember this weekend.  It will be an exciting accent that will take us right back to the weekend when we look back at our memories.  This project is a combination of a Facebook craft I saw and the Autumn Gnome from Dreaming Tree.  I simply reduced the size of the hat and sunflower to fit the leaves I have in my stash.  I couldn't find any wood noses to fit that would be delivered before the weekend, so I compromised with some autumn glitter balls....I kind of like it.  I hope it really does look gnomish.

Autumn Gnome Decor by Dreaming Tree

Autumn is my favorite time of year to make special projects - probably because we don't really have autumn here in Arizona!  Dreaming Tree's many autumn projects are perfect for decorating your home quickly and easily.  The Autumn Gnome Decor is a great way to add fun to your decorating.  This svg file is available at Dreaming Tree.  This weekend some of my scrappin' buddies have been invited for a weekend crop - with a "gnome" theme.  I put this together as a hostess gift for the gracious scrapper who invited us.
