Simple Beauty

It's a busy week for me!  So I'm kicking off the week with a simple card using leftover scraps from a class.

Floral Pleasures

Using preprinted digital images can be so convenient, especially when you are short on time (as well as ideas).  However, it is always fun if you play with different paper colors and patterns to achieve different results.  Today, I am sharing a quick and simple card using Pure Prairie Bouquet along with some Craftsmith cardstock to make a quick and simple card.

Hi There!  I'm back today to share a birthday card for my hubby's golf buddy - inspired by First Hand Emotion.

Glittered Daisy Patch

Daisy Patch was one of my first Heartfelt Creations stamp/die set - and still one of my favorites.  Today I'm showcasing die-cut flowers and how they work great all glittered up on colored cardstock, while still keeping their simplicity. I wanted to keep the flowers the focus of my card, but they needed something, so I embossed the background using the Houndstooth embossing folder.  My photo doesn't do this gorgeous card justice - the glittered flowers are something you just have to see in real life!

Out of Yellow Ink

Maybe next time your printer runs out of colored ink, you can just keep printing - why not?  I'm treating myself to a new 12 x 12 printer - but had a stock of ink for my current printer.  So I decided I'd run this ink dry before investing in the new printer.  This was a fun thing - the flowers on today's cards are the same as the flower on yesterday's card...in the meantime, I ran out of yellow ink - so instead of the vibrant yellow and orange flower, I have these pretty pink and white flowers.  A true scrapper never lets anything go to waste - therefore, these faded flowers needed a home on this pet sympathy card.  Think twice about replacing your ink cartridges too soon - maybe you'll end up with something completely different from what you expected.

Pure Prairie Bouquet

I am finding using digital stamps for my cards is so convenient, especially when I am making more than one card.  I adore the results I could get from using Heartfelt Creations floral stamps - but they haven't joined the digital world.  Power Poppy is the closest I've found, but they don't design build-a-flower sets like Heartfelt does.  What's a cardmaker to do?  Oh well - maybe in my next life I'll be a digital artist?

Today I am sharing my first card using Power Poppy's Pure Prairie Bouquet.  It was a pretty simple card once I realized I needed to adjust a setting on my cutter - It took me three hours, but what I learned will save me $$ as I discovered that I can use off-brand blades that cost 1/3 brand-name blades.  Yeah me!  Anyway - here's the birthday card I made.

Twisted Thursday - Buttons

Hi there!  I'm back this afternoon with a layout for my grandson's scrapbook.
I made the layout a bit more interactive using my Fuse Tool to add a pocket containing three additional photos.  You can see the finished product below.

Paper Studio meets Crafts U Print

I needed a quick hostess gift - made a small package of notecards.  I wanted to keep the focus on the bright colors, so I kept the designs simple by adding only some lilies using flowers from Oriental Lilac Parasol and Fan Lady (Crafts U Print) and adding leaves from Martha Stewart's Leaf punch.

The Little Mister/DCWV

One of my favorite things about baby cards is that they pretty much only need to be blue or pink!  For this card, I used paper from The Little Mister collection (DCWV), added a baby banner, and a cute wood baby I picked up at a gender-reveal party.

Butterfly Garden

I wanted something quick and simple today, so I pulled out an old kit using the Butterfly Garden digi stamp (2 Cute Ink).  My photo doesn't do these gorgeous colors justice.
