Hey There, Sweetheart!

Hello!  It was probably ten years ago that I started "collecting" digital papercrafting files.  I know when it's time for me to move into "the home," I'll be lucky if my entire apartment is as large as the craft room I have now.  So I got to thinking how best to downsize - and determined that I probably could have lots of crafting fun with just my computer, printer, and digis - become a digicrafter rather than papercrafter.  Recently, single-layer cards have become popular - and the more challenges I enter with this twist, the more I enjoy them!  So here I am - ready for my apartment with a bed, tv, computer, and printer - and guardian, of course.

Today I would like to share a single-layer card with you.  I'm getting pretty good at whipping these out, so my apartment will probably still need lots of room for white cardstock and ink!
For my print layer, I used patterned paper and a flower from A Sure Sign - Sekada Designs.  I used a sentiment from Whimsical Words of Love - Robin Gough Designs.

Hues to Use Challenge

Hello, Everyone!  Hope you all had a wonderful day!  I had an awesome day creating my own background paper for the Hues to Use Challenge.  I had a blast!  After several starts, I was able to get the look I wanted.  It's a color challenge again over at Power Poppy today.  The colors are inspired by Tight Malachite during Marcy's visit to the Smithsonian.  These colors are so much fun - I had to join in.  But then again, Hues to Use and Featured Stamper at Splitcoast are my two greatest reasons to avoid housework!  Be sure to stop over at Power Poppy for all the details and check out the amazing inspiration from Julie.
My background is created using one flower - Josephine Clematis (Doodle Pantry).  My background is inspired by Jessie's card at Power Poppy yesterday where she enlarged a floral design, creating a background.  I took the one flower and printed several copies in different sizes and different colored patterns.  I added some borders, along with adding a sentiment and a butterfly.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Love (Robin Gough).

I Hope You Dance

Hello, Everyone!  Happy Tuesday!  I've had an awesome time taking dancing lesson with my hubby over the past several months.  I now have to admit there is no hope.  I have this dancing thing out of my system!  We did have so much fun, though.  I made a quick thank-you gift for our instructors that I am sharing with you today.

Three-Patterned Multi-Media - Light of Day Tag Swap

Hi, Everyone!  Happy Monday, All!  Last week I took a little time in my craft room to make projects for swaps with a local papercrafting group - SALSA.  As usual, they were all last minute.  Today's project is for a tag swap - Light of Day.  I decided I wanted a kind of multi-media look for this swap.  I love that look, but do not like the mess!  So I've been playing a little with trying to get the same look in a digital format.  I cut my tag base from the U are a Star Card svg (My Scrap Chick).  I selected three different paper patterns - using a woodgrain pattern for the base.  Using the photo-editing paintbrush, I brushed on an silver embossed pattern around the edges.  I then edged the whole thing in a blue checkered pattern using the paintbrush.
I added a butterfly flourish from Miss Kate Cuttables on the left, and the sentiment was created in Word.  I added some embossed triangles, sequins, and a gold sun to finish it up.  The gold sun is an accident - it was supposed to be a shimmery gold, but I grabbed the wrong paint can.  A little darker than I envisioned in my mind - but I do like my finished project.

Hot Pepper Wishes!

Today I have a "hot" card I made using a "mystery item" for our local SALSA group.  The mystery item was the patterned paper used in the left panel, complete with red and green peppers.  I found some complementing red and green papers from We Are 3's Holiday Letters collection.  I cut out some peppers from the mystery item to embellish.  Don't you just love the red-glittered peppers?

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

Hello, Everyone!  Hope you're having a good weekend.  Today I made a another layout for my wedding album.
I debated how much I wanted to say about how much I disliked my wedding cake.  The baker, bless her heart, did a wonderful job!  We were on the phone so many hours trying to get her to understand what I wanted.  This is the first cake she's made that wasn't a traditional five-tier cake.  Then my florist was to supply white flowers for the tops and pastel lavender ribbons to match my colors.  The story about how I learned I wasn't getting what I wanted from our custodian is fun - what I love about small towns!  My wedding venue was 40 miles south of where I lived.  My florist was 40 miles north.  So the florist's daughter worked at a gas station next to my baker...thus the flowers ended up there for when the baker was ready for them.  The custodian's daughter also worked at the gas station...word travels fast in a small town.  :D  I decided to add some of the story to my layout - just to remind me that you just have to laugh at the small things...and I had to admit the wedding cake was a small thing.  I do want to make it clear - it was never my intention for my wedding cake to look like a collection of Easter bonnets.  :D

Power Poppy Hues to Use

Hello, Everyone!  Power Poppy has a wonderful weekly challenge called Hues to Use where wonderful colors are given to inspire.  There are so many beautiful color combinations they share.  Please be sure to check it out and join in!

I have decided to stretch a little and go with a person, rather than flowers for a change.  I chose Miss Typewriter - since I, myself, used to be Miss Typewriter!  Other than that, I decided to go quick and simple.
I started out with a black base, adding some "Be Bold, Be Bright" paper designs I purchased at Hobby Lobby before I retired three years ago!  I found the image from Mari Digis and thought it would be something different for me to try.

Pick up the Pink!

Hi, Everyone!  Happy Tuesday!  Haven't abandoned anything in a while, so finally took some time to make something to let go.  Not sure where yet, but planning to abandon this gift pack of six cards.

Don't ya just love these colors?  I used papers from the Sweetheart Collection from We Are 3.  The sentiments are from the Little Things Sentiments.  I embossed some of the cards with Buttons folder from Darice.  On some I attached a flower or butterfly to finish the cards up.  I love pink and grey together!

Have you abandoned your papercrafts yet?  Please be sure to stop over to the Art Abandonment Facebook Page and let's see if someone enjoyed finding my card pack.

Family Goodness

Hello, Everyone!  Wow, can you believe this weather???  It's 25 years ago today that I visited the Southwest and fell in love with the weather. It's so beautiful this time of year - great time for the Midwesterners to get out of that cold and come visit.

I'm finishing up scrapbooks for my hubby's siblings.  Here's the latest.

Take Time to Fly

Hello, Everyone!  My layout that I would like to share with you today is using Vintage Carnival from We Are 3.  I just love the colors in this collection.  The photo will be of my grandson riding a plane ride.
The cute plane is cut from Toy Airplane (Miss Kate Cuttables).

Enjoy the Simple Things

Over at Kerst Christmas, the challenge is Anything Goes.  I decided to go quick and easy - again.  After all, I've got loads of scraps to use, have I not?  I do like my poinsettias and find a tone-on-tone card to be so simply elegant!
My card uses one of my favorite papers - Christmas Tree, and I've also thrown in a bit of Storybook Christmas for a touch of contrast.  Pointy Poinsettia is the flower - I love it, is so elegant printed with a gold outline.

Day Filled with Music

Hello, Everyone!  Hope you're all have a good week!!  I would like to share this simple layout that I made for my grandson's scrapbook - a photo sharing his talents as a new drummer.
The adorable papers are from We Are 3's Little Star collection enlarged for larger stars.  This collections has a fun color combination - I just love it!  The QR code when scanned takes you to a video of my grandson playing drums for the first time.  Pretty quick layout - which I love!

Valentine Treat Bag

Hello, Everyone!  I hope you're ready for Valentine's Day.  It's hard to believe we are celebrating another holiday already.  Where does the time go?  This passage of time brings us to the monsoon season here - guess our beautiful winter weather will be leaving us for a while - not my favorite time of year.  This evening I wanted to share a fairly quick treat bag.  It has many possibilities - I made a rather generic bag, but plan to use it for some Valentine treats.

This little treat bag comes from SVG Cuts - Spring Pals Treat Sack.  I topped it off with Josephine Clematis from Doodle Pantry.  The paper comes form Digital Scrapbooking Experts - Blessings and Baptism.  I did recolor the houndstooth pattern inspired by this week's Hues to Use at Power Poppy.  These colors are soooooo elegant!!!!!

Woodland Christmas with an Owl

Woodland Christmas digital papers make a great background to this Owl Doodle.

Grandson - Hanging Out at the Mall

Hello, Everyone!  I hope you're enjoying your Monday.  I would like to share a layout I did for a picture of my grandson riding a truck at the mall.  Of course, as you know, I can't share photos of the grands.
I cut - I mean tore - the left two panels from We Are 3's Vintage Carnival.  Very quick and simple layout - that's what I've been shooting for lately as I am so behind in my scrapbooking.

Happy, Happy Christmas!

Hello, Everyone!  I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!!  Can you believe it....2nd post today?  I wanted to share samples using more of the Celebrate collection - remember the sale price is 80 cents - good only through the 15th!  So I had this idea in my head of coloring snowflakes using the metallic pattern to give kind of an embossed effect.  After paper piecing those snowflakes digitally, they were more beautiful than even in my head.  I then layered those metallic snowflakes over ... wait for it! Paper from the OUTER SPACE collection.  Yes, my background is full of craters.  I added Stickles to most of the craters - and voila!  A shimmery fun Christmas card!  I finished it off with some glittered matting and one last metallic snowflake.
Then I got to wondering...what would the same snowflakes look like if I used a Confetti pattern.  So I paper pieced digitally the snowflakes with the green confetti.  OMG - I'm telling you the photo does not do these snowflakes justice!  But they have an almost holographic look!  I used the Galaxy pattern from the same - wait for it!  OUTERSPACE collection.  The results look like small snowflakes among the holographic snowflakes.
