We Are 3's Vintage Carnival

Can you believe it's the end of the month already? I can't! But I've just finished all my designs for the July release, so it must be true! Today I have a layout that uses Vintage Carnival for accents.

The Eclips Users Group Masculine Challenge

How about that? I finished two masculine bags for the Eclips Users Group challenge. Woo Hoo! So here is another really simple gift bag. I just LOVE it!
The papers I used are from DCWV - Natural Luxury.  That cute little bowtie is from Paper Bow Layers.  It all reminds me of the roaring 20s.  #eclipsecalmaker

Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper Challenge

This week at Splitcoast Stampers, we're celebrating Vervegirl as the Featured Stamper. Was there any doubt that mine would use my Eclips? I've actually been wanting to make a similar card, but just haven't taken time until I saw one of Vervegirl's in her gallery. I printed a Reindeer with Snowflakes, then used Lattice 18 for the top design. The reindeer and sentiment are by Miss Kate Cuttables and the lattice work from Monica's Creative Corner. I love her lattice svgs. But, of course, their delicate nature makes it difficult to adhere to the card, so I pulled out my can of spray adhesive. Think it needs replacing, as it did leave some of the lattice work a bit gunky.

Creative Confetti - Just Color

Today's Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge is to just color. It's true - I don't often just color. About the only time I do this is when traveling by plane. Even though, I always pick an image that I could use on a card or scrapbook layout. So today, I got caught up with my designing and thought I would do just that before getting caught up on my scrapbooking - just color. I chose an image I'm not likely to use in a project - a wedding chapel by Cuddly Cute Designs.  And - following advice from Jessie's Monday inspiration - we don't have to finish in one setting.  I have already gone back to the chapel to add some texture to the wall and doors.  Not really sure if I'm finished yet.  :D  I do see that the lamp could use more detail.  LOL!
Now if I really get motivated, perhaps I'll add some landscaping around the church.....we'll see.

Nadia with the Progressive Freebie Challenge

Where has the time gone? I think I missed June completely - here it is the last week. My card today is for June Progressive Freebie challenge at the Outlawz - with Nadia, an image from M Medel Illustrations. For some fun, I added a princess crown from Little Princess Birthday The Hungry JPEG and a birthday sentiment, also from the Little Princess Birthday.

How to use this image was a bit of a challenge.  I'm not one to use people images, but did want to participate in the challenge.  Finally I was inspired by a simple card at Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper challenge.  I was pretty pleased with my design - but before posting it, I browsed through those already entered....and there was this one.  I'm feeling a spiritual connection because the design was so similar to what I had used!

Mother's Day with Adrian

The Stick It Down Sketch Challenge this month has a challenging layout. I had a hard time making this sketch my own. This does not at all look like what was in my head when I designed it....and at some point I had to say, "Oh, well....good enough." I know the color scheme I picked out for this grandson's current album is dark - and I think this sketch is just more well suited to pastel colors and a feminine theme.

Now pop over to the Stick It Down Challenge Blog to check out what others are creating with this sketch.  I'm going to give the two-page layout a try today....I hope I have better results.  Stick It Down has three great challenges to play along with.  And there is a prize to be had!  Wishing you better luck!

We Are 3's Vintage Carnival

Slowly, but surely, things are getting to our new normal, and I'm managing to crank out some layouts. For this layout, I used paper from We Are 3's Vintage Carnival collection...surely one of my faves.

Use Your Scraps

This week at Paper Ala Mode, we're featuring scraps! Woo Hoo! Now we can get rid of some of our stash! I decided to use just a couple pieces of scraps from my last set of cardmaking. Click HERE for the image from our sponsor, Createful Heart Designs...Ms. Scarecrow with Squirrels.

SALSA Citrus Card

This week at Power Poppy, the Creative Confetti challenge is Background Check. I just admire a beautiful background - but seldom think to use them. Now I know why....not my strongest talent! LOL! For my card, I used Power Poppy's Graceful Still Life - with a touch of lemon. I wanted to combine the Creative Confetti challenge with a local SALSA swap - the SALSA them is Citrus. So I added a couple lemons to the Graceful Still Life. I'm not real happy with my background - came out a bit darker than I planned....and my choice of violets began to get muddy. I added my shadow - didn't really want to include a shelf or table for the books to be sitting on - but looking back, probably really needed it.
I wanted to make the hat look like my hubby's favorite hat (can you say Elmer Fudd?)  I am proud of that hat - I nailed it!!!!  That hat is just so dirty - I'm not even sure what the original color was!  LOL!  I added a little embossing to the card - actually pulls my eye down to my favorite part of the image - that hat!

So now it's time to hop on over to the Creative Confetti Challenge to see wonderful inspiration from Julie - and to enter a creation of your own.  There are soooo many beautiful images at Power Poppy.  The prize challenge is a $25 shopping spree - can't get any better than that!

Kit and Clowder Butterfly Class

A while back, Kit and Clowder had a good deal on technique classes. I finally finished the first class - Butterfly! I don't think I've ever seen a pink butterfly! Did just Google it - and saw a beautiful pink butterfly with white dotted accents. Wish I had seen that while I was coloring! LOL!
This card is a 5-1/2" square.  This will probably work for a variety of occasions.  The black textured paper is from my stash from when I first started scrappin' almost 15 years ago!  That's why I don't throw anything away!  The pink floral paper is from the Pinkalicious collection at We Are 3.

For this layout, my matting around each of the photos is from We Are 3 - Little Star. It's hard to see, but the patterns look great on the original.

Creative Confetti World View

Free Polish Grunge Flag Vector
Late entry for Power Poppy's Creative Confetti challenge this week - took a quick weekend trip to celebrate our anniversary. I love this week's theme, though - World View - we need to make something inspired by a country's flag. My mind immediately went to a flag I'm familiar with due to my heritage - the flag of Poland. In checking my memory, I was surprised to learn the Polish flag is merely a white strip above a red stripe - my surprise results that my family always used a variation that includes a white eagle.  So my card uses those two colors of red and white.  For my image, I used Power Poppy's Irresistible Peonies.

Featured Stamper - Valentine Card

The Featured Stamper for May 26 had a beautiful, simple card that worked perfectly with some flower die cuts I was friended many years ago. With all the cards I make, I often forget that sometimes less is more. I was determined to use these beautiful die cuts - and it looks like I'm being successful, as a I had few flowers to choose from. The sentiment was something I pulled from my stash.
The die-cut flowers have layers to pop for dimension - I think it turned out quite pretty.  Be sure to stop by Splitcoast Stampers on Sundays for the Featured Stamper challenge - you'll have the chance to view galleries that offer both simple and elegant cards.  There's always wonderful inspiration - and a great way to honor some wonderful papercrafters.

Kim Cameron - Let's Go Cowboy

I'm really excited about this gift bag because I found a use for some free papers that have been in my stash for quite some time....not to mention the cute digitals, also resting in my stash. LOL! Not creative or elaborate - but cute nonetheless.

Eclips Users Group Challenge - Masculine

I've had to miss a lot of challenges lately due to life issues, but I had a chance to participate in the Masculine Challenge at the Eclips Users Group....well, this time I made three projects! Woo Hoo! I'm also working on another project - a Gift Bag of Gift Bags - so each of the entries was a gift bag.

We Are 3 - Watermelon

This month at We Are 3, we are celebrating Summer. What's my favorite summer treat? That's a no brainer - and a fun way to celebrate that treat is with We Are 3's new release Watermelon. I added a computer-generated sentiment to the patterned paper. Then I cut out individual watermelons from the same pattern, adding them and some black tear-shaped dew drops to a contrasting pattern from the Watermelon collection.

SALSA - Florals

This gift bag was inspired by SALSA's theme of the month - Floral. The image is a freebie from Kajsans.

Hello Friend - Cone Flower

For this month's new release, our dear Designer Bonnie has created some gorgeous papers, images, and sentiments.
For this fabulous background, I printed the black and white floral design in the collection on top of some lavender cardstock.  So that background can pretty much be any color you desire!

For the papers, I used Cone Flower Love.  The flower itself is precolored Cone Flower.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Summer.  I used my cutting machine to Print2Cut - so changed the color of the sentiment to white to show off against my dark background.

Be sure to drop by the Etsy store to see  what else Bonnie has made for us this month.

Filigree Bows from Crafts U Print

I've never used the Filigree Bows I purchased from Crafts U Print, so set out to use each of them on my gift bag project. For this bag, I cut the filigree in some gold glitter digital paper.

Creative Confetti Challenge - Do It For Dad!

Happy Saturday, Everyone! The Creative Confetti Challenge this week is Do It For Dad. I used a deer from Deer Trio (Doodlebug Pantry) to make a masculine card. Hah, just realized I made a Valentine's card with pretty non-traditional colors! Think I was going through my stash, matching colors - but not really paying attention to my Valentine sentiment. LOL! That's okay - my hubby will be so impressed with my coloring of the deer, he won't even notice!!!!  I must say - I'm pretty impressed myself!  LOL!

We Are 3's Watermelon June Release

This month at We Are 3, our sweet designer chose watermelons to celebrate the summer season. I created a simple card using the Watermelon Cupcake and Watermelon digital paper. I included a background frame for the cupcake from Love SVG. I also added some larger watermelon pieces by resizing the paper and fussy cutting them.
I added the images in layers to achieve dimension.  This was fun!  Be sure to stop by We Are 3's Facebook page to see the variety of projects from the Design Team.

Sketch Challenge at Stick It Down

I LOVE scrapbooking and making double page layouts. You can use more photos and larger images. Is there anything sweeter than have a great sketch to follow? This month's Stick it Down sketch is fun - it allows for a simple layout like mine, or more elaborate embellishments (if you are feeling creative and have time). The papers are from the Look Up collection from We Are 3. I used scraps for the diagonal lines except where 12" paper wouldn't fit - then I used some paper tape that was gifted to me. For my embellishments, I added just a few butterflies and small black beads.
As usual, there is loads of inspiration at Stick It Down, so pop by their blog to check it out.  There are always fabulous entries for the sketch challenges to win a $20 credit for Spiegelmom Scraps.  Be sure to join in the fun!

Cone Flower Love at We Are 3

This month at We Are 3, our sweet leader created a wonderful collection called Cone Flower Love. Of course, our first thought of designs go to cards - that's just how this project started. I added the rolled flower, though - and only saw gift bag. So this was a very simple way to jazz up a gift - I cut two hearts from the Cone Flower Love pattern, along with shadows. I added a rolled flower and a butterfly - both from my stash. Just happened to have a black bag in my stash, as well.

Starry-Eyed Santa from We Are 3

I love We Are 3's Starry-Eyed Santa and decided to make a quick and simple gift bag. I had holly already cut and glittered in my stash. I used the holly to make a "border" along the top of the bag. To give a little more dimension, I popped up Starry-Eyed Santa on a patterned gift bag. I had an empty spot in my holly, so added a simple sentiment. Click HERE to purchase Starry-Eyed Santa.

Bah, Humbug! Color Me Christmas!

To create this simple Christmas gift bag, I used a sentiment from Color Me Christmas. As for snowflakes, I just grabbed a couple out of my stash.
I really love how this turned out.  It doesn't photograph as well as it looks.  I like its simplicity...I think it's pretty and elegant.

We Are 3's Cone Flower June Release

Would you believe it's June already? That's right - and, as always, We Are 3 has a New Monthly Release! I've used the new digital Cone Flower collections - Cone Flower Love paper and a pre-colored Cone Flower image...as well as a sentiment from the new Itty Bitty Summer sentiment collection. I tied some twine around the card for a little dimension.
