At the Beach Digital Papers - July 2018

... and At the Beach works for Christmas!  Not so simple to make - but special for the festive season is the pop-up Christmas Tree Card.  Ideal for those who want to make an impresssion!  I love using non-traditional colors for Christmas cards - and the new At the Beach collection makes for a beautiful card.

Hollyberries and Warm Winter Wishes

This month's Power and Spark Challenge at Power Poppy is inspired by their Inspire Me Monday posts.  What fun to have such encouragement to revisit some lessons!  Today's card was inspired by Jessie's Ruffled Up Video.  I chose this because I found the way Jessie used her watercolors to be very simple - and I wanted to practice this watercolor look.

I used Hollyberries for my design along with Winter Sentiments from We Are 3.  I decided to also CASE Jessie's card simple card design.  My golden "watercolored" background came out beautifully - but some reason did not photograph!  I am very pleased with my holly leaves!  For sure this is a technique I will now use often. Owl Playing Baseball

Today's card is for the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers.  It's a card using a retired image and sentiment from Miss Daisy.

The Featured Stamper's card was very simple - just a fun image and a little embossing along the side.

Black, Grey, and White

Today I'm sharing an entry for Power Poppy's Hues to Use.  The image featured here is Black-Eyed Susan.

The Hues to Use this week are monochrome black, grey, and white.  I've been wanting to color in greytones - so I really enjoyed this particular challenge, as it gave me the push to finally try it.  I wasn't too sure about using a floral image until seeing the sample design by Tosh on the Power Poppy site.  I now think the monochrome works wonderfully for floral images.  Here is a close-up of my flowers.

Wedding - Bride on the Train

Today I want to share a layout for my wedding album.

I used Burlap Beach on which I printed some journaling.  That's matted on top of a retired pattern from Nature Blends with a background also from Nature Blends.

 

Sunflowers and Pumpkins

I'm excited to tell you that the August Release is now available at We Are 3.

Three of the new products are digital paper collections - Bumblebee, Dog Love, and Sunflower.  For today's card, I used Sunflower for a little fall theme.

Along with the digital paper collections, the August Release also contains two sentiment collections - Bee Buzz and Itty Bitty Birthday.   AND, that's not enough! There's also a fun image - Bumblebee - both precolored and black line.

Today's card features Raccoon at the Beach and At The Beach digi papers from We Are 3.  The sentiment is Life is a Beach from Design Bundles.  The faux stitching comes from We Are 3's In Stitches.

Smiling Swimmers!!

I'm back with a very simple layout.  I hope you all like this....worked on this layout for maybe all of 20-25 minutes - including printing the paper and cropping the photo.  I used patterned papers from the Vintage Carnival collection from We Are 3.

Paper Ala Mode Make - Free Coffee Sheep

The Paper Ala Mode challenges have changed to having one sponsor for the entire month.  I've kind of enjoyed this as I'm actually getting to know the artists, rather than getting an image, making a card, and moving on.  Today I have a fun card I created using a freebie image - Coffee Sheep - from our sponsor Sasayki Glitter Designs.

I'm back with a layout....I haven't created a layout for this grandson for quite some time.  I enjoy layouts for his album because the paper collection I chose - Little Star - is nice and bright.

My colors and papers were inspired by Hues to Use at Power Poppy.  My papers come from the Roses are Red Collection from We Are 3.

I hope my card will inspire you to play along at both the Progressive Freebie and Hues to Use.  I sure am looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Summer Kisses

For today's card, I played again with combining different patterns to form a mixed-media type of collage, this time using the new release, At the Beach.  I love this mixed media look - but hate the mess!  So by combining the papers digitally, I have the best of both worlds.  I teamed the new sentiment from the Sending You collection with some juicy lips for the July Tag Theme of Summer Kisses at our local scrapbooking swap.  I love the combined look of all these different paper patterns!

Beautiful Sea Holly by We Are 3

Today I have a fun card featuring the new Sea Holly (We Are 3).  I digitally paper-pieced the basket using Distressed Burlap and Dreamy Creamy.  Then I added a double dose of the new Sea Holly and a tag from the Tea Tags collection - and matted on top of some paper from the new At The Beach collection.

   

Summer We Are 3 Style

This month there's a summer theme at We Are 3.  What's summer without a beach destination!  My first card using the new At The Beach collection features the new digital images over at We Are 3 - Retro Gracie and Beach Umbrella.  I thought it would be lots of fun to have a sandcastle in the background - Fairy Sandcastle.

Garden Rose Gift Card Holder

I got the idea for this gift card holder from a demo at a local papercrafting group, SALSA. The card is super simple to make. The Garden Rose (We Are 3) is colored for this week's Hues to Use at Power Poppy. Papers come from the Peppermint collection (We Are 3).

                          

Card for Paper Ala Mode

This is a card I made for this week's Paper Ala Mode Challenge at The Outlawz.  Since I no longer use rubber/acrylic stamps, one thing I miss is embossing.  So I'm practicing more on how I might be able to get near the same effect with digital papers.  I'm loving some of the "gold foil" digital textures that help me get some of the same effect as I used on the gold matting here.

The matting comes from Gold Foil (Paper Farms).  The striped background is Oh, So Pretty (Digital Scrapbook Experts).  I did alter the stripes using Gold Glitter Textures (Creative Fabrica).  The image is The Gorgeous Bride from All Dressed Up.
