Blossom Challenge with Power Poppy

It's a new Blossom Challenge at Power Poppy.  My electronic cutter doesn't like me today - but I did manage this post using a previous win from the fabulous Power Poppy.  I won this beautiful digital stamp from Power Poppy called Black-Eyed Susan - you can get yours here.  I colored the stamp digitally.  The papers are from Fairy Hugs and Creative Memories...I obviously went shopping through my stash.

I'm really disappointed in the color of my flowers - or should I say my crummy computer.  My flowers in my editing program were deep purple....exactly like that lone flower in the inspiration photo...yet it printed pink!  I need a new computer so badly!!!!!

Christmas Textures and Spider Thoughts for We Are 3

I had a couple weeks off from crafting, but did spend time watching sessions of the Card Maker Success Summit.  Going back now to review some of the techniques there.  Lots of foiling....but I never felt the traditional techniques for foiling were worth the trouble or cost.  One participant though threw out there that she uses metallic vinyl as her foiling technique.  Eureka!  So here is a card with a bit of glimmer with the help of a frame cut from metallic vinyl and ironed onto my card front.

My pop of glimmer is the pink/purple frame - it is a little difficult to tell in this photo that it is metallic.  The frame was cut using a Laced Frame from Monica's Creative Room. I added some flowers and leaves from my stash.  The background paper is from We Are 3's Christmas Textures.  The sentiment is from the Spider Thoughts set from We Are 3.

Black-Eyed Susan

I was particularly thrilled with this month's Power Poppy theme of Glassy-Eyed.  I could use some practice with glass.  I enjoyed playing with this vase.  I am particularly fond of the Black-Eyed Susan

The flowers and vase are colored digitally.

Be sure to scoot off to the Blossom Challenge to see lovely inspiration from the Bloom Brigade.  Hope to see you join them - the contest is in full swing.

Power Poppy Blossom Challenge

It's Day 4 of the new Power Poppy Blossom Challenge - although I'm not using "Spring" flowers, I was already creating this card using Power Poppy's Black-Eyed Susan - so I'm feeling pretty good sharing this in the challenge.  There is so much inspiration from the fabulous Bloomies - it's mind boggling.  There's almost a month to go to get your entry in.  Wow!  Today I'm sharing a card using papers from the new Graduation collection from We Are 3.  They have lovely bright colors.

I used the papers with the stars and "confetti" which are appropriate for all occasions.  The sentiments are computer generated.  While this card was created for someone who is very ill, I hope the beautiful bright colors will bring some joy for her and her family.

I'm thrilled to be showcasing Sky Scenes.  I added to the scene with some Power Poppy Black-Eyed Susans.

The lovely flowers are colored digitally and cut with my Eclips.

Making Paper with Digital Stamps

I had so much fun today making my own paper design using digital stamps, inspired by Elizabeth's Inspire Me Monday technique over at Power Poppy - Making Japanese Paper-Inspired Designs with Digital Stamps. For my paper, I began with a patterned paper from We Are 3's Textures collection. I then downloaded a Lattice 40 from Monica's Creative Room and used it as a digital stencil. Using the stencil in Gimp, I "spraypainted" a gradient design over the textures paper. I topped this off with digital flowers - Black-Eyed Susan from Power Poppy. Is that paper not gorgeous?!?!?!? Here is a purse giftbag I made using the paper. A pic of the paper alone is shown below - I just love it!!!!

The purse file is an exclusive file made for Sizzix Eclips Users Group by Trina Struckman.  There is a "wallet" to go along that carries gift cards - hope to make that tomorrow.

My final entry for the Power Poppy Power & Spark Challenge - Go Ahead, Inspire Me. I had so much fun with this challenge this month!!!! Thanks, Power Poppy Brigade, for pushing me to spend time on those posts you all work so hard to post for us.

Hues to Use

I thought the colors used for Power Poppy's Hues to Use Color Challenge would make super cute cards. I had some fun with it, adding a bit of pearl-outlined flourish.

Supplies used include digital papers from We Are 3 - Watercolor Batik, Spring Letters, Distressed Burlap; digital image from Power Poppy - Black-Eyed Susan; and flourish from Miss Kate Cuttables - Wave Flourish.
