Meet Bob...Bobby Bones

October is here, and the leaves are falling.  Hopefully the majority of you are experiencing some wonderful colors.  I've been having fun with some new papers and made a Krafted with Copper autumn scrapbook layout.

The title is computer generated using Word.  The papers and embellishments are from Creative Memories.

There's Never Enough Boos!

The Outlawz have another new Progressive Freebie this month - they are celebrating October with sponsor Odd Ball Art with a fun ghost AND sentiment.  Even though it's only the 9th, I still feel like I'm late to the game because I usually like to complete these right away before I forget.  Odd Ball Art generally creates some quirky designs - but they also have some cute and traditional images - like this beautiful ghost and sweet holiday sentiment.  You can see lots of ghostly inspiration on the Outlawz Freebie Progressive Blog and their Facebook group.

I cropped the sentiment to separate and use the parts with different sizing.  I added a shadow to the BOOS in my eCal software and added a banner to the top line.  I really had fun with this...hurry, you still have time to share your BOOS!

But It's Not Halloween Yet!

Well, even though the weather here is gorgeous in the 70s, I decided to play with backgrounds and found it fun to make some Halloweeny backgrounds.  The backgrounds were created digitally with Jolee's sentiments.  Easy peasy!

New Challenge at the eCal Users Group

A brand new challenge starts today at the eCal Users group with the theme of Fall tags.  Halloween is always a fun theme because it seems if you put anything together with Halloween colors - it works.   Yes....I'm not sure if Halloween is what they think of as Fall, but with temps here still 100+ - not sure what Fall even looks like any more.  So I couldn't resist a tag featuring one of my favorite holidays - Halloween.

I started out with a tag from my stash - just one of the many tags I already have cut.  I topped that with a smaller tag from my stash in a different shape.  Worked out great and I'm two tags less of a hoarder!  I forget where I got all the Halloween goodies - all in my stash except the BOO - from Free Digital Scrapbooking.  #ecalscalmaker

Weekend Sponsor at Crafting of Hue

As Weekend Sponsor at Crafting of Hue, We Are 3 is offering Watercolor Samples for $1.00.  I love this paper collection.

Big surprise - I used pastel-colored papers for a Halloween card.  I do find the purple/yellow combo great colors for Halloween - as well as Easter.

The card itself is pretty simple.  Perfect design paper - a witch from Dream Tree - added a sentiment from Halloween Wishes cut in a doily cut with my Eclips.  I added a black ribbon and some gems and called it done.  Come join us on the Crafting of Hue Facebook page and see the amazing inspiration samples using Watercolor Samples.  We'll be there all weekend.

Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper

There's a new Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers.  A while back I was selected at Featured Stamper, and this fabulous honor is awarded to a new crafter each week.  The Featured Stamper's gallery is inspiration for the rest of us - each choosing a project to CASE - this week I thought this was the perfect card for me to CASE.  It's simple (I'm still working with very little in my craft room after tile installation).  I wanted to share a stencil technique with my 14-year-old pen pal - this offered plenty of room to demonstrate the stencil technique.

The papers are from 2012 Halloween Papers from Tsunami Rose.  I added the orange stencil technique (digitally, of course), using a stencil I bought at Walmart years ago and never used.  Finally I added a sentiment from my stash.  I thought the orange flourishes using the stencil were a nice touch.

Be sure to visit Splitcoast Stampers and see the wonderful Featured Stamper projects - if you would like, join us!  Check out details here.

Mostly Dots - Make it Witchy

It's nearly St. Patrick's Day!  Well, you would think I'd have a shamrock-filled project today, but instead I have a Halloween project!  Can never begin Halloween treat holders too early! As I began thinking about how to use the new Mostly Dots collection, I browsed through my list of project ideas - Inspiration I find and stash away.  Back in 2012, I had stashed away a Halloween lollipop holder idea - the inspirational photo used patterned paper in shades of gray and autumn colors.  I just had to use Mostly Dots for this project!

Along with Mostly Dots, I used Autumn Flannel from We Are 3.

We Are 3 Painted Strokes

I'm gearing up for Halloween - well, when I looked at myt scraps of Painted Strokes, I just thought a small Halloween treat would be perfect.  This small treat carrier uses a piece of paper only 4-1/4" x 2-1/4" - and a simple embellishment.  Great use of scraps and stash!

Zoom Layout from Snippy Scrappers

I'm back today with another layout from a Snippy Scrappers Zoom session earlier this month.  I used Kawaii Ornament Digi Kit from Little Scraps of Heaven.  The photo will be my grandson decked out as a zombie courtesy of Halloween.

The fab zombie came from Creative Fabrica, and I think my grandson is gonna love it, don't you?  Good zombie embellishments are hard to find.

The journaling came from my daughter-in-law's Facebook thoughts, and it totally cracked me up with the photo.

Stick It Down Layout Sketch Challenge

This layout - inspired by the single-page sketch at Stick It Down - was a pretty quick layout.  I improvised by using a Minions Halloween treat bag (Kadoodle Bug) instead of the tree.
The background paper is from Dragonflies in Flight by We Are 3.  The title is from my stash, and the date was added with rub-on alphabet letters.

New Autumn Images

I love Halloween - so was looking forward to a Halloween gift bag for our local gift bag swap this weekend. I went more for an Autumn look, rather than Halloween for a little more usefulness. I have tons of Halloween goodies, but I was dying to use the new Harvest image from We Are 3. I found the bag at Hobby Lobby for like $1 - cheaper than paper bags! Printed Harvest on printable iron-on transfer and cut it with my cutter - and to give it more of a Halloween touch, I added a tag using the Boo Pumpkin. I'm so excited about sharing this at the swap - I'm guessing they'll think I took the easy way out and bought the bag already printed.

Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper Challenge - J R Holbrook

This week at Splitcoast Stampers, Judy Holbrook is the Featured Stamper. After being inspired by several of Judy's creations, I finally settled on her Before the Storm to case. It seemed to be an easy single-layer card.
For the background, I used beautiful Ceremonie digital paper from Sarayane.

I used Dreaming Tree's Scarecrow Paper Scape file for the scarecrow, and then added Bat Boo from Miss Kate Cuttables.  The twine at the bottom was knotted a few times to resemble Judy's dimensional fiber.

I matted the single layer with black and orange.

Be sure to check out Judy's fabulous creations HERE...you will want to come and play along.

Paper Ala Mode: Halloween sponsored by Fred She Said

Happy Saturday!  Here I am again with another Paper Ala Mode design!  Halloween is near....and Halloween is our theme.
For this card I used Rosey Halloween by our sponsor, Fred She Said.  I created two layers to I could pop-up her head and broom for some dimension.  I found the sentiment in my stash.

Halloween

Here are cards for the current challenge at the Sizzix Eclips Users Group - Fall with a Focus on Wordart.  I used the Eclipse Technique - which is impressive in person, not so much in a photo.  I'm obviously loving this technique - as I made eight to abandon during my next San Diego trip.  Love this technique.

Web Works by We Are 3

Today I am sharing a shaker frame I created using papers from We Are 3.  I started with a new background pattern called Web Works.  For contrast, I added a decorative layer in black.  I topped it off with a pattern from the Fall Inspiration collection.  Inside the shaker, I used Watercolor Batik.
I used an image from Jennifer Nilsson called Happy Jack.  I added a variety of small "fall" leaves and sequins inside with the image to make the shaker.

Happy Owl

This card was created for the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast - I love participating in the Featured Stamper and having the opportunity to CASE so much inspiration work.  So much fun!
