Birds and Balloons - Shadowbox

Thanks for joining me on my blog today!  I'm pleased to share with you another Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge - Anything Goes with a Twist.  Today's twist is layers.  Since the card I hoped to finish today has a layer or two - perfect for the challenge.  Today's card is a shadowbox card using the digital image Balloon Birdie from 2 Cute Ink.  I layered some blue paper over the purple-checked shadowbox - and layered some extra balloons for an additional festive look.

I love playing along with Suzy Bee's Weekly Challenge - this week's challenge is ATG with sparkle!  Be sure to take a peak at all the sparkly entries!

My inspiration today came from Kim Paley at Crafts U Print with her Butterfly Scroll Frame.  However, I didn't care for my first card....though I like the idea of the butterfly frame.  So more searching lead me to SVG Cuts Butterfly Garden Frame Collection...I was so inspired by the Butterfly Garden frame - but wanted to move the butterflies around.  After hitting a variety of buttons - I found by using Exclude on eCal I could weld the butterfly to the frame and get the cut I want.  I had an amazing time....made eight cards, with four more to go!  here are four I made with "sparkle" - glittered butterflies.

My first class at Hobby Lobby will be basic cards with a masculine theme.

For these cards, we will be using Idea-ology paper stash from Tim Holtz.  We will also be doing a little embossing to turn plain buttons into gold embellishments.  With clock embellishments, these cards are wonderful any "time" you need a card for the men in your life.  Some of the papers you will use may vary from the samples shown - but all will be from the Idea-ology paper stash.

Green Shamrock

Good Morning, All!

I have more St. Patrick's Day cards for you all.  

For today's cards, I wanted to use the Kiss Me Green Image from Fontaholics.  The colors and design of this image is perfect for St. Patrick's Day!  I though it would make fantastic St. Patrick's Day cards.  I added a sentiment from Lazy Daisy Designs - and on the second card, a doodle frame from Miss Kate Cuttables cut from patterned paper.  Other than that and some help from my eClips, the majority of the cards are made up of just patterned paper left over from my grandson's green scrapbook.

Last week I shared some of my Valentine's, and this week I am working on St. Patrick's Day.  I always seem to fall back to SVGCuts free Scalloped Shamrock - I love this simple file so much I wanted to show you guys!

Since this file is so simple to cut and put together, I am joining Suzy Bee in her first challenge of the year - Anything Goes with a Twist - the Twist being Clean and Simple.

Valentine

It's just a habit of mine to save time by mass producing cards - with a twist.  This time my Valentine card is made with scraps from a variety of paper collections - Christmas, Graphic 45 Place in Time, and Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters.  

Because I used the heart shape on my Christmas cards, I was on a roll in changing the message and getting these cut quickly.  Now I'm finally able to take advantage of eClips' Print-2-Cut function - thanks to Santa Hubby.  So I'm saving lots of time by keeping the cards basically the same - just changing up the paper and design.

So... here's another card. 

Scrap Valentine Card

Good Morning, All!

For my Valentine cards, I want to use SCRAPS!  I have a TON of scraps, and this is just one card I made for Valentine's Day.

I love creating cards using my scraps (in this case, elements from Heartfelt Creations paper packs), because it's an easy way to clean my craft area.  And when you have lots of sheets of patterned paper from various collections, it's fun to combine all those papers in a creative way.

I also played with my eClips Print-2-Cut feature finally - for the heart.  Not exactly how I wanted it to print....and still need a bit of practice aligning the laser to the registration marks - but will definitely save time when I have some mass production to do....not to mention a much nicer fussy cut.  :D

More than likely, posts for the next month will be Valentine's Day cards made from my scrap piles . . . Enjoy!
