Winter Delight with We Are 3

My card today features digital paper from We Are 3 called Winter Delight.  I created this using a pattern I put in my stash years ago.

Beautifully decorated house doors always make me happy at Christmas - that's what inspired me about this design.  When I saw the wreath, I  thought the texture from the Winter Delight circles would make a perfect wreath.  Here's a close-up of the layered wreath.  Each wreath layer was attached with foam squares to add extra dimension to the card front.

To bring a little sparkle to the card, I added glitter to my torn layers of snow.

Featured Stamper Challenge Inspired by suepms

Featured Stamper is inspiration for card makers - you can bet I try to participate every week.  It's fun to visit the gallery of each week's new recipient - and other papercrafters making and sharing!

I hope you've had the chance to check out the phenomenal gallery of this week's Featured Stamper.  I'm usually trying to get a sneak peak each Saturday evening.  This challenge is so inspiring.

This card by this week's Featured Stamper (suepms) appears in her gallery from June...just a happy design.  My plan was two-fold in completing this challenge - make a pretty birthday card a friend requested and complete the challenge.

Like Sue, I added a strip of cardstock to set off the sentiment, placing it at an angle.  My sentiment is larger as I just pulled something out of my stash.  I finished it off with a flower because my sentiment is not centered in the circle.  The flower, from Fred She Said, is one of my favorites to keep handy....always seems to work.

Now the ball is in your court.  Find a card in Sue's gallery and create a card inspired by it.  I'd love to see what you create, so be sure to use the keyword FS863 when sharing!

Patterned Paper with We Are 3

This card has two layers of the same patterned paper on it from the Apple Delight Canvas collection.  Look closely at the pattern, and you can see texture that mimic a canvas.

Layering the layers on top of each other is a simple way to give the card dimension.  After printing the sentiments, I also used foam adhesive to adhere them...as well as the  final embellishment - a glittered hat.

August Christmas Inspiration

What better way to add dimension to a card than with a cascade of layers to create the background? I used an image from the cute Santa's Band set from Last-Minute Manda to create this card (these reindeer are Christmas perfection) - I used a few Framed Topper layers from Monica's Creative Room to create my background.

To make sure the card is festive, I added a layered snowflake embellishment.  I kept it in a color near the background so that it doesn't draw from the bear.  A bit of dimensional adhesive is all  you need to make your card pop!

I hope this inspires you to add dimension to your next card.  I cannot wait to see what you create for the Kerst Christmas Challenge that includes an animal.

Saying it with Borders

I am so excited to share today's layout with you!  I won a challenge for challenge ideas in the SCAL Users Group - Woo Hoo!  I can always use an extra $10!  Better yet - they used my idea to this week's challenge.

So the challenge is to make a border.  So my border began as an image from Creative Fabrica (Mountain Landscape Black Silhouette). I manipulated it to get three separate layers. I colored the mountains in Ecal and did Print 2 Cut for all the layers....as pictured in the reply. Then I added them to the layout with each layer popped up. I LOVE the end result! I also cut the cacti using a freebie from LoveSVG. I didn't plan them as a border....but they sure would make a nice border!!!!

Kerst Christmas Challenge: Santa's Band with Last-Minute Manda

Hello, Kerst Friends!  I'm here today to share a new card and an old technique that will have you adding layers to your images!  Today's card is inspired by this week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast, and using an image from Santa's Band (Last-Minute Manda), I created a tactile element to the card which is always fun for me.  What a fun way to add interest and dimension.

A Train Layout

Hello!  Here today sharing a layout I made using the Gem Tones by Creative Memories.  If you're a scrapbooker, I know you totally get how much I swoon over this great paper collection...lol!

The patterns and colors are timeless, and I can see so many uses for these neutral patterns.  For this layout, I played up the color difference between two patterns.

I know these photos are probably 12-13 years old - but you can never go wrong in scrapbooking old memories!

A Train Layout

Catalog images of the USPS Railroad stamps are a great compliment to Brick Fire Station digital papers to create a train-themed layout.  The title is computer generated.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Got all four sketches for Creative Memories Virtual Crop completed this past weekend.  I couldn't resist using a beautiful shamrock svg from SVG Cuttable Designs.  I originally planned to center the shamrock, so made a "matching" background to appear transparent.  However, the photos covered the shamrock, so I offset it...thus, the gingham background really doesn't match.  Oh, well....looks better than my original design plan.
Then it was just a matter of adding the journaling border and some stickers from my stash.

Pine Trees by Ink and Dot

I like the new Creative Memories Virtual Crop setup - getting all the sketches up front - I accomplished so much more and didn't feel the "urge" to complete each one immediately.  These pine trees are some of my favorites - from Ink and Dot.   To be honest, they are one of my go-to embellishments.  This is a layout of my grandson joining the Memorial Day gathering at his uncles.  Naturally, at nine years old, he wasn't thrilled to "socialize" with old family members....so he spent most of his time wandering the grounds - with a wonderful backdrop of pine trees.  Watching him explore is what made this Memorial Day special for me.

The title is from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

New Delightful Pastel at We Are 3

Here's the beautiful Delightful Pastel collection. Isn't it delightful?

I used a card from the Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper challenge for the design.  They've helped me out numerous times when I've been struggling with a design.  I changed the paper and the sentiment.

Tell me you're not excited about this paper collection!  Check out the fabulous inspiration from the We Are 3 Design Team on the We Are 3 Facebook page.

Introducing Painted Kraft and Holly Wreath from We Are 3

Today I  have one for the Kerst Christmas Challenge.   I used coordinating papers (Painted Kraft) from our sponsor, We Are 3.  The wreath is Holly Wreath - also by We Are 3 - and the sentiment is computer generated.  The little bow comes from a jar of bows I purchased over a decade ago....the jar may never empty.

Another for We Are 3

There's been lots of updating and creating over at We Are 3 - things are really rolling.   The background is from the Night Scenes collection from We Are 3.  I used this adorable digital stamp from Elizabeth Bell called Fairy Fleur.  I colored her digitally.    I created a single-layer card.

I'm struggling once again with my colors.  I purchased a new computer....the colors always seemed so washed out.  I was excited with this higher-quality computer to have vivid colors on my screen....but now they are printing in washed-out colors....and then taking a photo is even worse!  She's still beautiful - but my colors are so much more beautiful on screen.

A Sad Occasion in the Neighborhood

Again playing with We Are 3 new papers - this project is dressing up a gift bag.  I love it!  Decorated some gift bags for our wonderful neighbors who are moving - Boo Hoo!  I added a pattern paper to the bag from We Are 3 - Dotted Swiss Canvas.   Used one of my fave color schemes - red, black, and white.  I added a digital sentiment and a punched border...then finished up with lots of goodies for their trip to their new home.

It's Cream Textures

Here's a card using the adorable Cream Textures available from We Are 3 on Etsy.  This is one of my favorite collections as the tone on tone colors are so elegant.  You must look at the patterns in the collection, though - as my camera does not pick up the detail in these papers.

I really wanted to give this card some lacy elegance, but when I considered the intricate cuts of this file, I opted for printing the lacy design, rather than fight my machine with intricate cutting.  I was content to fussy cut the butterflies for some dimension.  The actual design comes from Miss Mandee.  It lost some style by using Print and Cut - but I did learn to cut a double-sided project so that the print is both on the front and back.  Finally I added a few flat-back gems and called it done.  I think my aunt will appreciate receiving this card.

Now I invite you to visit the We Are 3 Facebook Page to see the fabulous inspiration from the design team.
