Spring Fold with Trees

I love the new Trees collection, and decided to do something a little more challenging for today's card. I found some instructions for a Spring-Fold card....and after the third try, finally cut and scored it correctly. LOL! However, when I finished, I couldn't get the card to stay open for the fun fold effect. I ended up adhering the bottom down - will probably have to send instructions for opening if I send it somebody. LOL! The Trees papers are elegant! I just added a poinsettia and a sentiment sticker from my stash - and I have one beautiful Christmas card.

Think Embossing at Paper Ala Mode

This week at Paper Ala Mode we're embossed. This gave me a chance to break out my snowflake folder. I'm still practicing with my coloring - my hair certainly needs help here. More Howdy Autumn Fun

I have another card using Howdy Autumn - loving this paisley. I wanted to use some things in my stash, so found this digi - and some fun black cat stickers that have been hanging around for years....this is what I came up with. 

New Autumn Images

I love Halloween - so was looking forward to a Halloween gift bag for our local gift bag swap this weekend. I went more for an Autumn look, rather than Halloween for a little more usefulness. I have tons of Halloween goodies, but I was dying to use the new Harvest image from We Are 3. I found the bag at Hobby Lobby for like $1 - cheaper than paper bags! Printed Harvest on printable iron-on transfer and cut it with my cutter - and to give it more of a Halloween touch, I added a tag using the Boo Pumpkin. I'm so excited about sharing this at the swap - I'm guessing they'll think I took the easy way out and bought the bag already printed.

        

Howdy Autumn Digital Papers

Here's an Autumn card I made for the Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy...Feeling Fall It was inspired by a card from The Paper Craft Tutor. The paper is the new collection Howdy Autumn from We Are 3...the wreath is from Power Poppy - Bittersweet Wreath.

Let's Sail with the New Ferry Captain

These days one of Neebish's Ferry Captains has more on his mind than transporting Islanders - he's about to be a new dad! Woo Hoo! Here's a onesie for the new baby my sister asked me to make.

My machine sure didn't like the Ferry Captain - so small and detailed.  I didn't need all that red foil I wasted any ways, right?  LOL!

We Are 3's Howdy Autumn and Jungle Leaves

This week at our local SALA group, the card swap theme is "It's a Jungle Out There." I don't know much about the jungle, but relied on Creative Fabrica's Tropical Jungle clipart to guide me. I never associated pineapples with the jungle - but then I never realized beans were grown in Ubly until I moved there. I was particularly excited to go the pineapple route rather than having to color a zebra or elephant or tiger or lion. I chose to make a super simple card using Howdy Autumn papers from We Are 3. All I added was clipart and a ribbon and bow. EASY! Be sure to visit We Are 3 and view what other Design Team Members are making.

Featured Stamper Challenge #659

This week at Splitcoast Stampers, the Featured Stamper challenge is featuring JanTInk - I love her gallery! For this card, I used a paisley pattern from the new Howdy Autumn. I printed the paper in two sizes so I could use a large paisley for the background of my sentiment - and a small paisley for the background. For this paper, click HERE at We Are 3's Etsy shop. I wanted to also use the Get Well sentiment from the All-Occasion set. I actually goofed up some when cutting my sentiment - but I love the final outcome - so no worries. The borders are from Lace Border from SVG Cuts (I added the dots on top).

        

The Featured Stamper Challenge

This week at The Featured Stamper, I chose to CASE a Love Bug. Although I'm using Autumn colors (Howdy Autumn - We Are 3), I turned the card into a Christmas card for my sister who has an orange Jeep. I decided to use We Are 3's new Jeep digi for the CASE.

Aren't Jeeps fun?  I loved mine - I was driving a Jeep before Jeeps were cool!  LOL!  Thanks so much, Bonnie, for this Jeep image.  The Christmas touch comes in with some Holly Leaf.  I had fun with the challenge of coloring the Jeep.  The We Are 3 Design Team does an awesome job, so don't miss out on their fabulous designs HERE.

Power Poppy Creative Confetti

Time for another Creative Confetti Challenge! This week, Power Poppy is going over the edge. This time I decided to take my own cactus and cactus flower  over the edge. I added a plastic sentiment embellishment from my stash.

       

Mystery-Item Challenge

I so enjoy the challenge of Mystery-Item Swaps for our local SALSA group. This month's include three pieces of assorted colored foam scraps. I used a Heartfelt Creations die to make flowers out of the foam scraps. I used paper from Little Scraps of Heaven's Octopus with Daisy - I recolored two of the papers to match the foam flowers. I found the Aloha from Miss Kate Cuttables' Aloha Word Set...I also recolored that image.

Paper Ala Mode Challenge

Woo Hoo! Time for another Paper Ala Mode challenge! The sweet and wonderfully talented Anne from Anne's Digital Art provided us with images to use this month. I've been in sort of a rut lately and wanted to do something a little different. The inspiration for the card came from The Paper Craft Tutor. I made a stepfold card - for my frame around the image, I used Layered Doily 10 from Monica's Creative Room. The theme is All About Trees - my background paper from Winter Serenity (We Are 3) has beautiful trees in its pattern. I added glittered snowflakes.

Of course, I popped the layers.  I'm especially fond of my inner tube - coloring black with some shine is rough.  Be sure to stop at The Outlawz for the Paper Ala Mode Challenge - there's a prize to be had.  Enjoy!

Paper Ala Mode Ayla Tubing

We interrupt this hot weather to bring you some winter inspiration. Here's a fun Christmas card using Winter Serenity and an image from this week's Paper Ala Mode sponsor, Anne's Digital Art. I used Anne's wonderful Ayla Tubing.

I so loved how Ayla looked like she was sliding down the frozen pond beneath her, that I had to put her in action.  I added a Wobble - perfect to add some action to the card.

I had so much fun making this simple card.

Another Garden Railroad Layout

I wanted to go way back for this layout and chose a layout of our trip to Phipps Conservatory we took to kill time waiting to visit our new grandson - Nice of Phipps to schedule their Garden Railroad display at that same time!

Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy

I just love Power Poppy's Creative Confetti Challenges because the the possibilities are endless. Click HERE for the current challenge...Say It With Sepia.  I've been wanting to try coloring in Sepia for quite some time, so took full advantage of this challenge.  I just had to add a touch of spotlight color in my butterfly, though.  For my image, I used Pure Prairie Bouquet from Power Poppy.

Autumn at We Are 3

It's Autumn back in the Midwest - and Bonnie has made some fun Autumn papers - Autumn Flannel. You can't have fun "flannel" paper without making a flannel "shirt." I printed the flannel paper on both sides of my cardstock and made an overlapping gatefold card. I trimmed the top to form a collar, folded back the shirt collar, added a "cuff" and buttons. I finished the card off by adding a nice bright white "t-shirt" inside for adding the sentiment.

Double-Page Layout with Stick It Down

I'm loving the Just Autumn collection! Today I added a some blue with bubbles for my layout - and I'm loving the blue with the reds and purples and golds and greens. The sweet photos are of Bonnie's grandchildren.  The layout is inspired by the double-page layout at Stick It Down.

We Are 3 New Release - Autumn Flannel

Our local SALSA group has a swap this month for Z-Fold cards. It's been a while since I've taken time to make a special-fold card - I don't know why. It really is easy! I used paper from the new Autumn Flannel collection. Once again I have my seasons confused, but I love how these spring flowers looked with the flannel paper. I added a sentiment from the Positive Thoughts collection, and there you go! True beauty!

The We Are 3 Autumn Flannel Release

I was so excited to see some buffalo plaid in the new Autumn Release this weekend because plaid flannel brings out the Michigan in me! I have no idea why, but when I see this plaid, I see Christmas. So I had to chuckle at the name of this collection - Autumn Flannel. This collection is chock full of fabulous plaids - including my favorite, black and white. I used this pattern to make two country-style Christmas cards - what's more country than Mason Jars? Then, to add some Christmas flavor, I added some computer-generated sentiments, and fussy cut some poinsettias. I added a little paper tape as a ribbon.
