Christmas Cards with Lattice Background

Couldn't sleep last night, and browsing Facebook a group member from the Sizzix eClips User Group was trying to create a file combining a rectangle and lattice-work background.  I sat down, gave it a try, and voila!  I was so inspired by the sample she showed, I had to use her idea...making Christmas cards to join Hiding in my Craft Room's Christmas in July theme.  I just love the clean, simple look of the background - I think this will be most of this year's Christmas card - as you can see, good use of scraps in my stash!

Simple Birthday Card - using up the Stash

I rarely make simple cards. That doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate a clean-and-simple look. However, ever since I lost the top of my craft table, I've wanted to just go through my stash and use it up.  So here is a very quick and simple birthday card for Fresh-Brewed Design's current challenge.

Big Sister's Brag Book Using Neutral Baby Colors

We were invited to a "Baby-Reveal" party today.  I tried to think of a clever, inexpensive, last-minute gender-neutral gift - came up empty.  Instead I opted for a gift for the new baby's big sister - a Big Sister's Brag Book (accordion style).  Here is what I came up with.

And, of course, we need some nice packaging.

Challenge Layout with a Scrabbled Message

For the "Scrabble" theme of Challenge #303 at Lasting Memories, I created a layout to feature my youngest grandson. I found a free Scrabble font and used it to share just some of the great characteristics of my grandson.
Here's a close up of some of the Scrabble board.  (Note to self - next time, use tan paper to print Scrabble words.)

Birthday Card with Background and Embellies from Stash

Thanks for joining me today.  If you've been following my blog, you know I'm on a mission to create from my stash.  Today's card was perfect for that....the background paper I purchased when I first began scrappin' 12 years ago - the cat left over from an order for pet-adoption cards - the candles left over from an embossing class I taught last year - and the sentiment one among many in my stash.

Halloween Fun

Using leftover stickers for  your cards can be so convenient, especially when you are running out of room on your desk and need to clean out your stash.  It's always fun if you play with leftovers from different projects to achieve new results.  Today I am sharing a quick card using leftover Halloween stickers, along with borders left from other projects to make a FUN card - FUN being the theme for More Than Words Mini Challenge.

10,000 Members

Kit and Clowder is one of my favorite Facebook groups - I can't help but be awed by the work on that page - from critters to vintage designs.  I look forward every day to see the coloring styles.  One of these days, I will have the time and money (at the same time) to join in on a Kit and Clowder class.  I think I hold back a little because I just might be that one student they get who doesn't get it!  LOL!

Kit and Clowder is celebrating 10,000 Facebook members - this card in celebration of that momentous occasion.

Recycle It - Vacation

0716_sbcrecycleit
Hello!  Welcome!  Today I'm excited to share a layout FOR ME!  I'm so often making layouts for others.  My inspiration was Scrapbook Challenge's "Recyle It" challenge - themed Vacation - and using a mood board (July 2016).

Summer

Welcome back to my blog.  Next up is a look at my entry for the challenges at Cards in Envy and Polkadoodles - Summer Cards...in fact, I enjoyed this theme so much, I made two coordinating cards in fun summertime colors.

Unplugged - Card Swap Sneak Peek

Hi, Scrappers!  I'm five days away from a local card swap - and I've already completed my card (I generally do it the night before at about 10 p.m.).  This one was total fun - the theme being Unplugged.

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

I'm happy to see you here for my entry to Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge - theme is butterflies.  Today I'm sharing a clean and simple layout - I want the focus on my grandson...
The Butterfly Garden Frames (SVG Cuts) is sure to highlight a nice large photo of my grandson.

Wild West Outlaws

Good Morning, Everyone!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

These cowboy boots by Kim Cameron is one of my favorite embellies...fun image.

I Love Using My Stash

I'm on a mission to use my stash - it's great to find portions of my desktop - puts a smile on my face. Old card kits are perfect for just that - quick cards.

The papers are from Paper Studio called Deck the Halls with Chalk.  The flower embellishment is Recollections Printed Flowers - probably no longer available as I received these as a gift years ago.  Just amazing how quickly a card can go together when you put your mind to it.

Sketch Challenge at Viva La Verve

Viva La Verve's Sketch Challenge provides a quick and easy template to use for a card.  It serves as a base for creating a simple card or those more elaborate.

I added to the fun by seeing if I can use this template using only ONE sheet of cardstock!  I was personally blown away by the results.  A while back I bought a Craft Smith paper pack (Gradients) on sale for next to nothing at Michael's.  The gradient colors provide somewhat of a tone-on-tone look - which I love!  This card was made using one sheet of cardstock (except for leaves). I think it would make a wonderful baby card or Mother's Day card...this paper pack is a winner in my book!

Sweet Daisy Card

This little card was inspired by Stick It Down July Sketch Challenge.  Supplies used include Polka Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Daisy Patch and Delicate Asters dies (Heartfelt Creations, and Scandinavian Lace Chain border punch (EK Success).

Sizzix eClips Users July Challenge

I'm celebrating summer with a beachy treat box.
I've been thinking of a small project to make for a cousin for a Craft-it-Forward thingy for a month now - I was thinking some kind of treat box. Yet I couldn't get motivated by any of my ideas. Then I finally remembered she is all about the beach - so I used Miss Kate Cuttables Flip Flop Set, added sides to the flip flop, and created a small treat box I will fill with M & Ms.

Nerdtastic Stash

A nerdy card using stash on top of my craft table.

I used Nerdtastic from Amy Doodle Stamps.

Trick or Treat

After completing four layouts using my Fuse Tool - the equivalent of 20 layouts (just like Charmin' Toilet Paper - 4=20!), my desk cannot be found - lost under tons of embellishments and stickers and ribbon and twine and yada and yada!  So today's project is USE THESE THINGS!  The first thing I touch - must go on a project - and the project must require that I only use what's on my desk (no additional printing or die cutting)!  Inspired by the challenge at Polkadoodles - Ribbon/Twine (Week 26), I made a couple clean and simple Halloween cards.  I especially like these because they have a feminine touch - for those little female ghouls in our lives.

Simple Western Get Well

Today just mowing my way through stash on my craft table - resulting in this simple get well card.

Did I say, "Last of Neebish?"

Last week I finished an order for 45 cards for the women on Neebish Island, Michigan - and was glad to put them in the mail and get them off my desk!  They received them yesterday and the response was so great, my motivation was revived...and in an attempt to clean off my desk, ran across some leftover "islands."  Thought I'd make a quickie and get started on the new orders already coming in.

No More Limiting Yourself to One or Two Photos

Using the Fuse Tool is a great way to expand your layout and add some fun to your pages.  It works great to allow you to use more photos with the same theme.

Here I used the Fuse Tool to add flaps of layouts - essentially ending up with five layouts in one!  Here are the five completed layouts.  The main page is inspired by the challenge at More than Words - a sketch challenge with the theme of "Smile."

Here is a short video showing you how these pages appear in the scrapbook.
That's a layout sure to make my in-laws SMILE!

Spring Days

Today I have a quick and easy layout to post.
I am so having a hard time getting good shots of my layouts!  The sentiment in the circle reads "So nice out, Damien felt he needed two hats."  I wish I could share the photo of my grandson - who insisted on wearing two hats on a walk with his mom.
