For today's layout, I used Little Star papers (We Are 3).  (I just love how everything coordinates in We Are 3 paper collections!)

Hues Fun

I really had fun with this card...it's the first time I've been successful at shading - as you can see on the vase.

The card was inspired by Power Poppy's Hues to Use.  Ooops....I see my yellow background is a bit deeper than that in the sample....though my bouquet's colors are right on cue.

Tips and Techniques 2 Inspiration

Here's another Christmas layout - one of my grandson wear a red nose and deer antlers Baba sent him.  The design is inspired by a layout by Denise Medeiros (Tips and Techniques 2).  The papers used are from the Vintage Carnival Collection (We Are 3).

Operation with a Twist

My challenge for myself today was a birthday card with a twist - Cavity Sam from the game Operation.  The card is for our neighbor to go along with the classic game we are giving her for her birthday.  Thanks to inspiration from Blinkin', Thinkin', and Inkin', this challenge is a piece of cake!  Here is my finished card!

I used pretty much all basic shapes from my Sizzix Eclips library.  The only parts not in the library are the wishbone and wrench.  The sentiment inside says, "It doesn't take brain surgery to know you deserve a Happy Birthday!"

Splitcoast Featured Stamper

Splitcoast Stampers Features a member each Sunday.  Their Sunday Challenge is to make a card inspired by the Featured Stamper.  FS #572 made a watercolored card, topped a lattice die and a simple sentiment.  It was fun to experiment with her design and very easy to CASE.  Using handmade paper for my background was lovely.

One of my favorite paper collections - Little Star (We Are 3). Those colors and stars are just so darn cute! Using this collection for a scrapbook focusing on another favorite of mine - my youngest grandson.

A Beautiful Moment

Arggh!  I think I have hit the wall with scrapbook layouts!  Losing mojo - way behind.  Anyways, here is another layout for my wedding album - I will continue because this is the third time I've started my album and I refuse the quit this time!  This photo my photographer caught of the train conductor bowing his head in prayer is one of my favorites.  I ran into the conductor a few years later who told me he has it hanging in his office.

Getting an early start on my Christmas cards?  For some reason when I saw the great color combination of pink, grey, and white in the Sweetheart digital paper collection by We Are 3, I thought Christmas.  The image is a freebie by Dearie Dolls - The Cat and the Christmas Tree.

Wish You Luck Shamrock Cards

Today I am featured as Guest Designer at Power Poppy.  My card uses Power Poppy's Wish You Luck stamp set.  Inspiration comes in many ways - today's comes from the Hues to Use challenge.  To give my card dimension, I used two copies of the bouquet, crumpling the top layer.  I hesitated about using two layers.  It looked quite nice with just one layer, but I do love dimension.

The card is 5" x 5".  The lattice background, bouquet, and sentiment are mounted on the card with dimensionals.  The bouquet and sentiment were colored using GIMP.

It's Winter and Time to Warm Up!

The best part about We Are 3 is that there's something new and fun each month.  Today's card comes with warmth and love showcasing We Are 3's beautiful digital papers, images, and sentiments.

Here I used Toasty Warm Neutral Colors and this month's new Winter Sentiments - all of which can be purchased at We Are 3's Etsy Shop.  This paper collection with the knitted design just screams WARM!  I fussy cut a snowflake from the paper for a bit of an accent.  I really love how warm and comforting the papers are.

     

Sending Kindness

Hello!  The sun is shining here while much of the country is under snow, and that means some flower cards!  Yay!  Here is a card I made using the freebie digital set at Kit and Clowder from Graciellie Design - Sending Kindness.

For today's card, I chose to use Seaside Bobbers with new release, Nautical Love, with a touch of Sweetheart.

                  

Christmas Wishes with a Pointy Poinsettia

I had planned to make an exception this week and NOT post a Christmas project - but then I remembered I requested the Pointy Poinsettia for my Paper Ala Mode design.  For this card, I wanted to move away from the traditional red poinsettia.

Well, I started playing with We Are 3 scraps from my stash - although this card was so easy to make - and I pretty much used all scraps - I think it turned out to be an elegant card.  Of all the different ways I have used these papers, I think this is the most beautiful card I've made with them.

The background piece is Knit Coffee from the Toasty Warm Neutral Collection.  The left panel is from the Christmas Tree Collection.  The middle panel is a piece of Vintage Dots from the Mermaid Love Collection.  The third panel was cut from Garden Dance.  For the poinsettia, I changed the black line to a gold for an "embossed" look - then printed on Butterflies digital paper - the leaves and sentiment were colored using Gold Foil digital paper.  Remember, the advantage of using digital papers and images is that you can easily change the size of the designs to what you need.

After cutting the poinsettia, bend each petal in half to give the flower dimension.

    

June is for Weddings

Today I have a scrapbook layout to share...I know! Right?  Does this not shock you?  These photos aren't some of my best from our wedding - but I love the look on my face and I don't have many photos with my beautiful train.

I simply love this snowman so much - so cute!

This simple card really makes my heart happy.

So Sweet

Today I am excited to show you a set of Valentine's Day cards.  I wanted this set of cards to convey love and tradition.  With that in mind, I used a heart frame .svg.  I actually designed it trying to case a card from Power Poppy - yet, when I finished, I realized I used a square of hearts rather than a heart.  Think I will share anyways, as I think these cards are just too pretty not to share.

I love the hearts border - More Heart Doilies (Bird's SVGs)  It is the first time I have used it, and I absolutely love how it turned out!  I definitely play on using it more in the future.  The flowers come from the image Thoughts and Prayers Block (Bugaboo) - I've used this sweet image often, especially wonderful for sympathy cards.  But while I wanted to use these fun flowers, I erased the sentiment for more versatility.
