A Train Layout

Catalog images of the USPS Railroad stamps are a great compliment to Brick Fire Station digital papers to create a train-themed layout.  The title is computer generated.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Got all four sketches for Creative Memories Virtual Crop completed this past weekend.  I couldn't resist using a beautiful shamrock svg from SVG Cuttable Designs.  I originally planned to center the shamrock, so made a "matching" background to appear transparent.  However, the photos covered the shamrock, so I offset it...thus, the gingham background really doesn't match.  Oh, well....looks better than my original design plan.
Then it was just a matter of adding the journaling border and some stickers from my stash.

Pine Trees by Ink and Dot

I like the new Creative Memories Virtual Crop setup - getting all the sketches up front - I accomplished so much more and didn't feel the "urge" to complete each one immediately.  These pine trees are some of my favorites - from Ink and Dot.   To be honest, they are one of my go-to embellishments.  This is a layout of my grandson joining the Memorial Day gathering at his uncles.  Naturally, at nine years old, he wasn't thrilled to "socialize" with old family members....so he spent most of his time wandering the grounds - with a wonderful backdrop of pine trees.  Watching him explore is what made this Memorial Day special for me.

The title is from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

Winter Loving

Last weekend was the Creative Memories Virtual Crop and I was on a roll.  It got all six entries in.  For this layout, I wish I could show the photos....but just think The Christmas Story.  LOL!

It's the Creative Memories Virtual Crop

You know I love playing in the Creative Memories Virtual Crop - it often takes me a bit out of my comfort zone and the entries always show so many different styles.  Generally, I struggle to complete all six sketches - but not this weekend.  It's always fun.

The photos are from my student teaching experience.  I do always worry about posting photos of other people....but then I realized that these young girls are now all in their 60s!  My ephemera is from my young friend, Mikah.  As much as I love that vintage look, I often don't have a place to use it.  But since I taught typewriting - these were perfect for these pages.

The papers are from Little Garden (retired) by We Are 3.

The Creative Memories Virtual Crop

I was the Creative Memories Virtual Crop this past weekend.  This layout is with Cookie Monster.

Isn't he cute?

As you can see, the Cookie Monster embellishments are cut with my Eclips.  I had a lot of trouble deciding on a background.  While I like the colors of the scrapbooking kit, the patterns don't always lend themselves well for backgrounds.  And it's tough to get the scale just right - not to mention, the papers don't have continuous patterns!!!  These patterns make placement of items awkward.

The Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Here's another one using a sketch from the Creative Memories Virtual Crop a few weeks ago.

I stumbled upon Monica's Creative Room's borders earlier this month and am dying to use each and every one of them and thought these particular borders are perfect for this sketch.  I added embellishments from my stash.

I do like to print Monica's fancy files pretty small....so I generally print them instead.  Faster, too!

Zoo Visit Layout

I'm kind of late to the game - still posting layouts from the Creative Memories Virtual Crop weeks ago.

Hudson's Christmas Parade for Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Wow, I've had a whole week to post my Creative Memories Virtual Crop layouts...and I still have many to go.  Creative Memories offer fabulous inspiration on their blog and a number of tutorials.  Thank you so much, CM.

I really enjoyed this gorgeous layout - I did it all digitally except the photos and poinsettia.  I've gotta say, digital layering is more pleasing than cutting all those little scraps.  I really lucked out in finding the poinsettia in my stash and, miraculously, it fit perfectly with my layout.

Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Last week Creative Memories held their weekend-long Virtual Crop.  Our local Snippy Scrappers held a virtual crop coinciding with Creative Memories.  They are such a fun, supportive and inspirational group.  I love playing there.  I try to never miss the crops.

Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Today I made a fairly CAS layout using embellishments from my stash.

The bear is colored digitally.  Gotta say I'm pretty please with how it turned out.

Virtual Crop at Creative Memories

This past weekend I tried to join the gals at the Creative Memories Virtual Crop for the sketch challenges.  I suppose I could have made better plans for the weekend so I would have more time to crop - but life did get in the way.  LOL!  I did complete two layouts - for this layout I used Mosaic Backgrounds and Enchanted... from We Are 3.

Sketch Inspired for Creative Memories

Still sharing the fun I had last week at the Creative Memories Virtual Crop....finished all the layouts in time, but just now finding time to post.  The first is a layout of a visit to the Titan Missile Museum using papers from the Enchanted and Touch of Teal collections.  I added white embossed cacti and popped them up on the layout.  The title is computer generated.

The next is a quickie for a single-page layout.  I used some very old Martha Stewart border punches.  I added a title from Miss Kate Cuttables and called it done.  This was an extremely simple layout.
That's all for now!

Bumble Bee at We Are 3

The adorable papers are Bumble Bee.  I used a sentiment from Birthday Wishes for my title.

I've fallen totally in love with the Bumblebee papers at We Are 3.  They're such magical colors.  Please visit the We Are 3 Facebook Page to see more inspiration from the Design Team.

I created this layout for the Creative Memories Virtual Crop last weekend.
