Card for Paper Ala Mode

This is a card I made for this week's Paper Ala Mode Challenge at The Outlawz.  Since I no longer use rubber/acrylic stamps, one thing I miss is embossing.  So I'm practicing more on how I might be able to get near the same effect with digital papers.  I'm loving some of the "gold foil" digital textures that help me get some of the same effect as I used on the gold matting here.

The matting comes from Gold Foil (Paper Farms).  The striped background is Oh, So Pretty (Digital Scrapbook Experts).  I did alter the stripes using Gold Glitter Textures (Creative Fabrica).  The image is The Gorgeous Bride from All Dressed Up.

My Favorite Challenge

A card for Hues to Use at Power Poppy. This week the colors were our choice from this photo of a paperweight.  The flowers are Black-Eyed Susans from Power Poppy.  The Sentiment comes form the Smiles collection from We Are 3.

Vintage Carnival from We Are 3

I love the colors in the Vintage Carnival collection.  This is a layout I made for my grandson's scrapbook.  I especially like this collection for this baseball-themed layout, as the papers remind me of an old baseball stadium - the woodgrain pattern brings back memories of a stadium in need of a new paint job.  The red-striped pattern is reminiscent of a baseball jersey.  If you are not using digital papers, you have to check them out!  They are amazing!!

From Digital Paper to a Layout

There are sooooo many reasons for all of us cardmakers, scrapbookers, and papercrafters to use digital papers - it can really make your head start to spin!  I like to change things up a bit by changing sizes of the digital patterns.  I think it can be fun to see how different projects can look using the same paper in different size patterns.  For this two-page layout, I started with two patterns from the Vintage Carnival collection - enlarging the stripes and condensing the mosaic.  Another favorite reason is I never run out of the pattern I want to use.  While some printed paper packs have beautiful papers, often there is only one or two sheets of each design.  When creating a double layout, that generally doesn't give you enough to work with if you want the same backgrounds across both pages.

A Gift for Lynn

I have been on vacation and just getting back into the crafting routine.  Here is something new I tried.  Still need to refine the file to better fit the glass I bought.  The paper for the box is from the Really Simple Collection from We Are 3.  The wine mug is for a friend who makes jewelry.

My Cousins' Graduations

This past month has been filled with graduations!  It is so nice to be able to send a one-of-a-kind card.  I began this project with a challenge at the Sizzix Eclips Users Group - to create an envelope using additional Eclips functions.  I used Print2Cut to add the Graduation Cap from We Are 3 that overlaps to the back of the envelope.  I then created a matching card with the same graduation cap.

                       

Square Christmas Card

This is a Christmas card I made for the current Paper Ala Mode Challenge at The Outlawz.  We lost our sponsor this week, so got to use digital images of my choice.  So my card is made using papers from We Are 3 - Really Simple and Black and White.  The image is from Carinas Freebies - Tomte med önskelista.

              

We Are 3 June Release

Really Simple

At We Are 3, there's a new black-and-white release - Really Simple.  Here is a Really Simple card using some of the paper - pun absolutely intended!  Just can't get much better than a clean black-and-white look, with just a touch of color.

Hues to Use Challenge

Tuesday brought another Hues to Use at Power Poppy.  This is one of my favorite challenges.  I have to admit, I get excited each week as I check out the colors.  Here is my card for this week.

Birthday Card

Here I'm using We Are 3's Tropical Delight to make a birthday card.  The bright colors of this collection are great for any birthday card.

Rounded Treat Box

Do you ever make something and you get so excited about the outcome - you know it is turning out even better than the vision you had in your head.  Even better, it is soooooo easy to make!!  Well, for me this is one of those projects!!  I am in love with this little treat bag!!  The bag itself is made using only one sheet of cardstock.  The file is available at SVG Cuts - Easter Egg Treat Bag.  It's rounded design is perfect for the current Power & Spark Challenge at Power Poppy - Let's Go Round & Round.

I started out with Ladybug Lace digital paper.  Then I created a little lattice design using some paper from the Tropical Delight collection.  (All cardstock from We Are 3)  For the ladybug, I colored up Malli's Ladybug from Melonheadz and added a sentiment - Babies Love from Elegant Word Art.

Card for Tuesday Color Challenge and Featured Stamper #591

Here is another card for today - this is one I made for the Color Challenge at The Outlawz - also inspired by the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers.  Another card using papers from Winter Serenity and Winter Splendor - can you tell I love these papers!!!!  They are just so soothing!  The image is a new freebie from Anne Fenton - available at The Outlawz.  It is an image that was fun to color - I just love lilacs and playing with the purples and blues was fun.  This was just a fun, easy card!

Card from June Release

This month's We Are 3 release includes Tropical Delight.  The embellishments are the precolored Pineapple Bouquet.  I love this release!  The colors and patterns are so fun, a simple card goes together very quickly.

                       

For a Krafty Christmas

Paper Ala Mode's challenge is to use Kraft paper this week.  For this card I used Holy Family from sponsor MDE Illustrations. The blue floral accents are cut from Christmas Magic (We Are 3).

Little Birdie in a Garden of Flowers

I had a lot of fun coloring up this image!  I think it turned out so cute!!
