A Little Grinch-mas
For most of my layouts, I am inspired by scrapbooking magazines - this layout is inspired by an old Paperkuts magazine. I'm not even sure if that magazine is still available...this magazine is from 2003 - I wasn't even scrapbooking in 2003! The layout is simple - plain cardstock other than frame matting using Just Autumn from We Are 3.
The "journaling" is all computer generated. I was really happy with the simple design, and how I was able to transform it into a simple Christmas layout.

Featured Stamper - Irresistible Peonies
This week at Splitcoast Stampers, the Featured Stamper is Rainy. I found so much inspiration on her site - lots of simple, but elegant cards. Power Poppy's Irresistible Peonies are digitally colored - the oval cut out with my Eclips. The papers are We Are 3 (Winter Plaid and Hearts in Love).
It's really fun to see how others CASE Featured Stampers, so be sure to pop over to Splitcoast to see the fabulous creations. Another fun challenge is Creative Confetti at Power Poppy. The current challenge is Free for All - Anything Goes with a Power Poppy image. AND, if you're not familiar with Power Poppy, they have some free images in their store for you to snag.

SALSA Stitch in Time
January at SALSA, the card-swap theme is Stitch in Time. For my image, I used the whimsical cat from Sewing Cat (2 Cute Ink).
I used paper from We Are 3's Enchanted for the card base.

Cutie Couples
I have to say, it's sometimes tough to keep up on my scrapbooking. I really enjoy it, but sometimes find it hard to make design decisions and my eyes often begin to cross. LOL! I did manage to sneak in this simply layout. The rolled corner is a technique I love to see - but often don't think of when designing.
The titles are computer generated. I finally got a chance to use a bow from my ever-growing jar from SAS.

Festive Friday Challenge - Christmas
My cards are very simple using the new Snowflakes set from We Are 3. I cut them in circle from with my Eclips. They are popped up on simple cards using papers from Honeycomb and Snowglobes - both We Are 3. Went together really quickly, but still beautiful Christmas cards - or winter note cards.

The Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge
Well, the holidays are here - and we're keeping a low profile this year. The hubs is all nestled in bed, and other than taking gifts from their hiding places, I have nothing to do. So here is a simple, generic card - a break from Christmas designs.
So I used this pretty image from Power Poppy (Big Ol Bow). I used paper from Sizzix. The sentiment is from SVG Cuts. I just realized the sentiment is an svg - and I inserted it into a Word document....I did not know Word could read svg files - that explains why formatting tools were totally different.
The card is a bit simple, but I'm pleased with the bow I colored. This is for the current Creative Confetti Challenge - Free for All. If you haven't already, be sure to stop by Power Poppy for inspiration for the other entrants. There is a fabulous prize of a $25 gift code from Power Poppy for one lucky participant. If you are celebrating these holidays, have a safe and fabulous Christmas.
Welcome to the Island!
I LOVE this paper collection...this gorgeous paper is Dragonflies in Flight by We Are 3. The journaling is computer generated, and the fun flowers came from my stash....they are so lovely.

A Christmas Tag
Merry Christmas, Everyone! My house is not decorated this year, so I decided to use my decorating time putting more effort in my gift wrapping. This sweet Mistletoe is from We Are 3. I added some dimension with Stickles on the berries. Then I added a Christmas Fun Tag, and added a bow for some additional dimension. The tag itself is cut from Winter Plaid.

I'm tickled Pink!
I know - amazing that I have completed my Christmas shoppiing and got everything shipped on time. I finally found a pink umbrella for our adorable neighbor. I used a rainbow from Miss Kate Cuttables to embellish the umbrella - along with fabulous glittered raindrops from Digital Scrapbooking Experts....you know me with glitter.

Power Poppy Poinsettia Digital Stamp
For this Christmas gift bag, I chose Power Poppy's Poinsettia for a focal point. Isn't this digital beautiful? It's colored with Gimp, and I Print 2 Cut both the flower and leaf - then scrunched them up to add more dimension.
Be sure to stop by Power Poppy to view the other fabulous creations in the challenge.

We Are 3 Christmas Papers and Creative Confetti Challenge
When I saw Power Poppy's Poinsettia, I rushed right to my cart to snag it up - and went to work coloring. I oversized it for my images. I used a pop-up element for the inside.
I love my color on this beautiful poinsettia. The Poinsettia is from Power Poppy. I'm really proud of my coloring on this image - here's a close up.
Here you can see the pop-up element. The sentiments are from We Are 3's 'Tis the Season and From All of Us collections...papers are We Are 3's Winter Plaid and Holiday Letters. This card was inspired by this week's Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy - Mad About Plaid.

Christmas Golf Cart for Eclips Users Group
So if I'm not busy enough, my hubby decides he needs a special card for his golfing buddy. He is getting better, though - he actually gave me five days to make it. This isn't exactly what I planned originally. But SVG Cuts had this svg for a golf cart box card - and generally their products are easy to assemble, so thought this would be a time saver. However, this was very difficult to assemble....and it sure doesn't look like the one on their site. I'm sure our buddy will enjoy it nonetheless. Online, it looked like the scorecard could be opened for an inside note - nope. LOL! So had to hand write my note on top - I hate that! LOl!
I decided to add some holly from my Christmas stash to make my cart a little more festive. If you are wondering what the fuzzy white stuff is, it's supposed to be cobwebs - the guys haven't been able to golf since last Christmas due to my husband's hand problems - and now back problems. Gene's doc is encouraging him to golf again - and hopefully his pain management doc will soon give him relief so he can get back out on the course. So he's telling his buddy to "dust off" the clubs so they can get back out.
I used the new sentiment from We are 3 - Both of Us - for the front of the scorecard. All the papers come from my We Are 3 stash - we've got a little Houndstooth Neutral, Fairy Backgrounds, and Winter Plaid in there. Oh, and the Holly Leaf is also from We Are 3.

Sketch Challenge from Stick It Down!
Happy Sunday! I look forward to the Sketch Challenges at Stick It Down each month. Besides a card challenge, Stick It Down also has both a single-page layout and a double-page layout. I decided to use the double-page layout using papers from We Are 3's Look Up collection. Not only did I use patterns from Look Up for the background panels, I also digitally paper pieced the lighthouse with a brick pattern from the Brick Fire Station collection.
When I join Stick It Down's Sketch Challenges, I begin with the photos I want to scrap - THEN check out the sketch. So I'm often looking for different ways to get the same effect - but with a totally different topic. So for this layout, it took me some thinking to decide what I could substitute for the Christmas trees that were more appropriate for my nephew's wedding theme. They were married on the famous Mackinac Island (Where the movie "Somewhere in Time" was filmed). Mackinac's sites include the Mighty Mackinaw Bridge - and Round Island Lighthouse. I am so excited I found a way to replicate the same effect! Of course, since it was a summer-wedding theme, I substitute flowers for the snowflakes.

Creative Confetti Challenge - Power Poppy
I was so excited to see Power Poppy provide a freebie (Filligree Tree) over at Kit and Clowder because I can never get enough of Power Poppy - their images make such elegant sweet cards. This week's Creative Confetti is a color challenge - monochrome blues. I thought this new freebie would look wonderful in blue - reminds me of the old-fashioned blue/white ceramic - I think from the Dutch? Not sure - just that when I see it, I also see the Tulip Festival in Holland. :D I originally planned to have all blues and white in my card, but I think the silver background helps my blue tree stand out.
Celebrate Christmas Fun at We Are 3
We've been celebrating Christmas Fun at We Are 3. I enjoy making unique, detailed cards - but I always get excited when I can make a quick, simple, fun card just using my scraps. I used a leftover piece of Christmas Fun paper for the background. The sentiment is from my Christmas stash - and I always keep an envelope of Holly Leaf available for a little jolly accent. Add some Stickle berries - love my simple card.
The sentiment is popped - the holly leaves are crumpled for a little dimension. Easy peasy! We're excited to see what you've made with Christmas Fun and invited you to share a little inspiration on our Facebook page.

Monday Greetings - Red, White, Green
Rudolph, Woo Hoo! My Rudolph is actually one of the printable images in the Christmas Fun collection from We Are 3. I printed and cut two wreaths, so that I could pop up "Rudolph's" head for dimension. I popped it atop a simple embossed card front.

Featured Stamper #670 - Christmas Fun
This week the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast is the talented Pansey65. I put a Christmas twist of my CASE of Nancy's card - I used a reindeer wreath from We Are 3's Christmas Fun. The patterned paper is We Are 3's Christmas Fun. The extra Holly Leaf is also from We Are 3. I really love the simplicity of Nancy's card because it could be used for any occasion.

Freebie Progressive Challenge - Daisy
I was a little stumped with what do with this image after coloring her - although I knew I had to add a train! LOL! I had an AHA moment while talking with Bonnie about the new release - Christmas Fun. Who wouldn't love to live in a house with Gingerbread wallpaper?!?!?!?! Yummy! I decided to use Christmas Fun papers - including the festive wallpaper - and Vintage Carnival for the lovely red "carpeting." The Progressive Freebie is Daisy from LeAnn's World 101. Join the Progressive Challenge if you haven't already!
