Happy Saturday! This weekend at We Are 3, we have a new paper collection in the Etsy shop - Enchanted. These papers are versatile because the marbled patterns can provide such a nice background pattern - even great for matting! I made a simple card using papers from the Enchanted collection. Bonnie shared with us that inkjet prints are reactive to water. I need more practice with that, I suppose. I think the reaction might be dependent on the type of paper you use as well. However, after looking at some samples using stencils, I loved the look and decided to attempt at digitally getting the same look.
For my stencil, I used Layered Doily 12 from Monica's Creative Room. I then used the "dodge" tool in Gimp to activate the watermark look - very similar to spraying with water (except that this design didn't disappear when it dried - lol).
The watermark technique was popular years ago - we used Versamark ink pads back then. So it was fun to go back and work on getting this same effect now I'm more digital in my work.

Mistletoe for Festive Friday
Lately when I craft, I just sit at my table and stare at my mess. Lately I've been joining challenges where I can get by making something simple and using up some stuff.
I decided to join the Festive Friday Challenge at The Outlawz, making a simple Christmas card. The Mistletoe (We Are 3) was colored digitally, then cut with my Eclips. The sentiment is a sticker I was gifted years ago...so long ago, the stick is actually gone! LOL! Don't even ask how long I've had the papers in my stash!

Well, it's Turkey Day - and the second week of Twisted Thursday's Challenge - Anything Goes. My papers are from my stash - and the Mistletoe is a new digital at We Are 3.

Wedding Card for Wednesday Sketch Challenge
So I don't want to shock you all, but I actually found time to join a challenge!!!!! I don't know what I am actually forgetting to do, but The Outlawz Wednesday sketch this week is a simple one, so took a little time to join. This happens to be a wedding card - top image in my stash.

Christmas Layout
Just look at those greens! That's just about my favorite Christmas tradition - my train tree. The lantern is from the Grand Canyon; the train in the top ornament is from our Alaska trip; we have a stopwatch; and, of course, the bell that rings for all that Believe.

The Outlawz Paper Ala Mode My Favorite Thing Challenge
Happy Saturday, Everyone! Weather is still beautiful here in Arizona, though our most beautiful flowers have faded away. I was inspired to bring back some flowers with this week's Paper Ala Mode theme - My Favorite Things. Since hedgehogs seem to be all the rage in cardmaking, I chose Hettie's Daisy from our sponsor, Createful Heart Design. Aren't you always looking for something cute? This is such a simple card - quick and easy. To finish, I matted the image and added a couple sentiment stickers from my stash.

We Are 3 New Release - Winter Plaid and 'Tis the Season
Don't you love having a stash of beautiful Christmas cards? I'll start sending mine out next week. Well, Bonnie at We Are 3 has created a perfect collection of digital paper. The Winter Plaid collection contains eight wonderful plaid patterns. You can see them here. For this card, I used the green and white plaid, and I love how cute it looks. The sentiment is from the 'Tis the Season set. The holly leaves are from Power Poppy. I used a template from Pinterest for the "Impossible Card" design. Then I added a couple borders to hold the card together. Be sure to stop by the We Are 3 Facebook page to see what the other design team members are doing with Winter Plaid and 'Tis the Season.

'Tis the Season and Camille's Cactus
Anybody else feel like they are already behind in their crafting for the holidays? Not even Thanksgiving yet....and I'm feeling the push. My family doesn't help with many of them having birthdays between now and Christmas. LOL! I found this ornament wooden sign at Target last year. I had a handful of succulent picks I've been wanting to use for something. So I was inspired by Power Poppy's Creative Confetti Challenge - to alter an everyday item with a stamp. I used We Are 3's new, basic Christmas sentiments in the 'Tis the Season set. The cactus is Camille's Cactus, adorned with Camille's Cactus Flowers - all from We Are 3. I colored the digital stamps with GIMP and used the waterslide-decal technique to add the cactus - the sentiment is cut in vinyl. I'm new to waterslide - not a fan right now. Perhaps next time I'll use an iron-on transfer. However, because the wood is rustic, I'll blame that for a couple of the cactus flowers looking wonky. LOL!

Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper Challenge
Wasn't sure a card for this challenge was going to happen. Kind of a rough week here. Tiny little card - but created it in sessions - not enough time to get it done in all one sitting. I was determined to get it made, though. I used new We Are 3 papers and sentiment - Winter Plaid and 'Tis the Season, and the holly are from We Are 3's Holly Leaf set.
Embellishments include ribbon and gems.

Little Star Layout for We Are 3
I really love the bright colors of the Little Star collection. This is a simple layout that went together quickly. No embellies other than the frame around the title...but you could easily add some on both sides.

We Are 3's Just Autumn Layout
I wish I could spend more time with our grandkids. They are my faves to scrapbook. This layout was inspired by a layout in an ad I found in an old PaperKuts magazine. I used papers from Just Autumn for the top border and some of the photo mats. The plumber is some free clipart - the water drops come from May Flowers by DSE.

It's a Triple Play at Power Poppy
This week at Creative Confetti, we were challenged to use an image three times on a card (or project?) Iused the Pansies image in a couple different sizes, turning the image to create a sort of frame for the sentiment (from the Gladioli set). A Splitcoast Stampers tutorial was out on my desk, so I made that project - a 2-5-7-10 box they call it. I just so happened to have a bow the same colors as my pansies, so I used it to accent the flowers. Looking at it now, I need to use floral images as "frames" more often - I like the results.
Wish You Were Here - Sabino Canyon
My patterned papaer is from the Look Up collection, and I used Decorative Borders (Love SVG) for the ornamental borders.

The Outlawz Crash Your Stash
I finally found time to join some challenges.
I dug into my punches for a change to use the photo corner punch on the lower right corner. The Holly Leaf is from We Are 3.

The Outlawz Challenges - Sketch
I love this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz. Maybe because it was such a basic sketch. For this card, I used everything from my stash. I love how it came out. I forget where I got the image, but isn't it gorgeous? The Peach on Earth is a dimensional sticker.

The Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper Challenge
This week at The Featured Stamper, Alora is being featured. I decided to case this simple card.
The boots are from Army Clipart Bundle. I used paper from my stash. I got brave and handwrote my sentiment - reminds me that's never a good idea. LOL! There are lots of fabulous cards in this challenge.

The Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge
This week at Paper Ala Mode, our theme is Rustic. I am totally loving this image - Worn-Out Truck - from our sponsor - Createful Hearth Design. I used paper from We Are 3's Trees collection for the background. I found some fun buttons that that were a nice contrast to the paper, yet kind of coordinated with the truck.
The sentiment is computer generated. In case you haven't noticed, I love to use Word Art. I added some burlap trim to finish it off. Be sure to stop by The Outlawz to join us in this Rustic challenge.

Power Poppy's Creative Confetti Challenge
The days just seem to be flying by - here it is the end of the week and I remembered the Creative Confetti Challenge. This week, Power Poppy is featuring a sketch challenge. I only colored the butterfly - the background circle comes from Watercolor Textures (Design Bundle) Guess I could have colored my own circle - just didn't think of it when I saw the watercolor circles already in my files.
The butterfly and sentiment come together from Retirement Sentiments by Whimsy Stamps.

Now for the good part - you, too, can join the challenge at Power Poppy. The entries so far are fabulous. You have until the end of the month.
SALSA Gift Bag Swap
This month the local SALSA gift-bag challenge is to make a Christmas gift bag. In the interest of time, I created this simple bag design. I found the sentiment and holly leaves in my stash. The sweet, cool patterned paper is from We Are 3's new Frozen collection. So simple, I feel like I was cheating. LOL!

I so enjoyed coloring the Moving House (Hettie Clair Art) for the Progressive Freebie Challenge at The Outlawz. The papers are We Are 3's Frozen.
The sentiment is from my stash. I added a bow as an embellishment. Remember, you have until the end of the month to enter this challenge. Click here to enter.

Stick It Down and We Are 3
I am trying to get "caught up" on my scrapbooking - persistence is prevailing! As you can see, I've created several layouts over the past week. Here is what I came up with for Stick It Down's single-page sketch layout challenge. What I really like about this layout is that it is quick and easy.
The paper is from the We Are 3 Look Up collection - though the pattern is difficult to see in this pic. For the "banner," I added a Decorative Border from Love SVG. After scrounging through my stash, I found some awesome rub-ons my sister gave me years ago that were just perfect - used over the Decorative Border. With a little imagination, you can see I used Stickles on the red and purple berries - lol! This turned out to be one of my favorite layouts.
You still have time this month to join the Stick It Down challenges. They start the beginning of each month and run through the end of the month. I love these challenges to inspire my layouts - and I'm pretty darn proud that I have both sketch layouts completed for this month already.

Stick It Down Sketch
We Are 3's Dragonflies in Flight collection is one of my faves. For some reason my background paper didn't print in the deep turquoise it should - will have to do some computer troubleshooting. I didn't want to waste the paper, though - so decided to use it for the background - and I don't think it's very noticeable once I finished the layout. It worked out pretty well after all. I followed the sketch at Stick It Down for the layout - substituting all the lovely flowers and hearts with tooth-fairy related embellishments. I also turned the layout pages on their sides - and swapped the order of the pages. Finally, I finished off the layout with sequence (big surprise, right?) Be sure to stop by Stick It Down to see all the November sketches - why not play along?
