Christmas Story

A few years ago, I kicked off the holidays with a Special Needs event here in Rancho with a ride on the Rancho Polar Express and a wonderful Santa Claus that needed to be scrapped.

I used a background from Traci Reed's Beautiful Dreamer kit to make this page, but I wanted the photo to be large and blend into the background.  So I erased some of the photo to blend in with the patterned background paper.  I chose the pale blue heart-patterned paper to give a cool, wintery feel.

All in all, I'm really pleased with how it cam out even though the photo is poor quality - I kind of like the hazy feel of the photo.

Creative Memories Virtual Crop

Happy Tuesday!  Hope you are having a fabulous week.  Today's layout was created using a sketch from last week's Creative Memories Virtual Crop using Spring Medley from Creative Memories.  I also showcasing some embellishments from a Polar Express it I bought years ago.  This was such a wonderful day!

Power Poppy Creative Confetti - Birthday Card

One of my favorite challenges is Creative Confetti at Power Poppy - though it's a busy week, thought I could manage a simple birthday card. The image (Toot Toot - Elisabeth Bell) is close to my heart as a train enthusiast - had to color him up in the same colors I wore for my second-best train trip - engineer on the real Polar Express. The patterned paper came from DCWV - thought it's perfect for a young boy's birthday when he should be the "star." The white blocks I embossed with a square pattern. The border is Argyle Border (SVG Cuts). Check out what others have made for Power Poppy's Creative Confetti challenges and maybe try playing along! Power Poppy's inspiration is awesome!
Here's a pic of my train trip as engineer on the real Polar Express - see any similarities?
I mentioned that was the second-best train ride I've taken - the best ride, of course, being on my wedding day.

Trainaholic

Lasting Memories' current challenge captivated me...Famous Movie or Actor Quote. Anybody who follows me blog knows I love The Polar Express. Therefore my two-page layout is inspired by the movie - and one of my favorite quotes, "Whoa! We got it!" from the Hot-Chocolate scene. The layout is me opening the Lionel Polar Express train set my hubby gave me for Christmas the first year we were married.
Wait!  There's more!  Lift Santa to discover the Polar Express train engine beneath the Christmas tree.

Loving the Rails

Hello!

It's been 15 years since I had the opportunity of a lifetime - to engineer the 1225 out of Owosso, Michigan.  Today I am finally beginning to scrap all my railroad adventures over the past 15 years.  My adventures include the 1225 (the REAL Polar Express), my wedding, a Red-Carpet movie premiere, annual anniversaries, a trip to Alaska, and miscellaneous railroad adventures.

Onesie Manie

Morning, All!

Oh my word! My intentions of posting every day just is not happening. I’m determined to post catch up soon! Wish me luck! :)

For today’s project, I stepped out of my comfort zone.  For my daughter's baby shower, she sent out onesies with invites - and guests are asked to decorate the onesie.  So here is what my new grandson (who will be living in Michigan) will be wearing - thinking this may be an annual birthday gift....a new shirt every year.  :D
