Cactus Cooler

Dug deep into my stash for old American Crafts Cactus Cooler paper and used an old photo box svg from SVG Cuts.  Added some embossing and ribbon and called it done.

This photo box is the perfect size to hold one baby onesie for a gift.

Featured Stamper Challenge

This week at Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper, the featured stamper was also a scrapbooker. I had an opportunity to do some serious casing! My layout is made with Positive Vibes. I had a ball casing her layout using my papers and embellies.
The little deer are Baby Deer with Mom...the basic theme throughout the scrapbook.  Don't they make a cute embellishment for a baby album?

I completed the layout by using a variety of computer-generated journaling, stickers and brads from my stash, and P2C images from Positive Vibes.

Creative Memories Zoom Scrapbooking

This week I joined some Creative Memories ladies for some Zoom scrapbooking. These ladies shared some simple layouts with a twist. This is the first layout we made - specifically the geometric border on the left. Not as they taught - but I like the results nonetheless. I added the photo matting, titles, deer, and some pearls to finish off the layout.  I don't usually like to create a layout without a good schematic including photos, titles, and embellishments....but I did push myself out of my comfort zone and added those on my own....and am quite happy with the completed layout.  Yes, I've done it! Now to complete the two-page layout Diane shared. Secretly, I am proud of myself! The deer are from Star Jame Lines - Baby Deer with Mom.

Creative Confetti "All Boxed Up" Challenge

This week the theme at Creative Confetti is "All Boxed Up." Tell me that's not a fun challenge!
I found these deer images from Star Jam Lines - of course, I just HAD to use them for a new scrapbook for my new niece.  They are colored digitally.  Inspired by the Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy, I placed both images in boxes - somewhat "out of the box" - and cut the entire image including the background box.  The papers are from Digi Crea.  Here is a close up of the colored images.
Power Poppy has done a fabulous job with this challenge (as always), so be sure to check out the rest of the entries.

Paper Ala Mode Challenge - Rainbows

Don't you love beautiful pastel-colored papers - and simple quick cards to use for any occasion. Well, Bonnie at We Are 3 has designed a perfect collection with pastel rainbow in mind. Rainbow Skies has includes eight digital patterns - and you can win by joining us at the Paper Ala Mode Challenge. Bluebird of Happiness is designed to coordinate with Rainbow Skies. The doily is cut using a Layered Doilies 14 from Creative Monica. I added some extra popped flowers for dimension - and voila! Be sure to stop by The Outlawz this week to see what everyone is making for the Rainbows challenge.

We Are 3 Vintage Bear Baby Card

The new Vintage Bear is just too cute. I used paper from the Little Garden collection for the background, and the pattern behind the die cut is from the Fruity collection. How cute is that?
The Baby sentiment is made from stickers from my stash.

Kim Cameron - Let's Go Cowboy

I'm really excited about this gift bag because I found a use for some free papers that have been in my stash for quite some time....not to mention the cute digitals, also resting in my stash. LOL! Not creative or elaborate - but cute nonetheless.

Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge

In honor of the New Year, the Creative Confetti challenge last week was to create a card featuring either the New (baby) or Father Time (masculine).  I used Elephant (Sasayaki Glitter) because I thought it would made an adorable baby card.  Isn't it cute?  I finished it off with a tiny blue bow.
I'm loving Power Poppy challenges - really improving my coloring; and you don't have to use Power Poppy images to play along (though they are my favorites!!!)  I have a new image I purchased that's been burning a hole in my computer wanting to be colored - lol!  Just wasn't a good image for this challenge.  But I see this week's challenge will be perfect for the image.  Can't wait to get started!

Beary Baby Angel inspired by Featured Stamper

When I saw this card in this week's Featured Stamper gallery, I thought, "Nice and easy." But then finding a scene I liked, I had second thoughts. Instead of a fun scene, I used Beary Baby Angel from Di Gigi.

A "Magic" Card with Baby Birdie

I like that We Are 3 often offers digital images both in black line and pre-colored.  That works especially well for making "magic" cards.  Here is a magic card "before and after."
A quick video showing how the magic card works.
There are a variety of tutorials for making magic cards - I used Unity Quick Tip

Big Sister's Brag Book Using Neutral Baby Colors

We were invited to a "Baby-Reveal" party today.  I tried to think of a clever, inexpensive, last-minute gender-neutral gift - came up empty.  Instead I opted for a gift for the new baby's big sister - a Big Sister's Brag Book (accordion style).  Here is what I came up with.

And, of course, we need some nice packaging.

Sketch Challenge at Viva La Verve

Viva La Verve's Sketch Challenge provides a quick and easy template to use for a card.  It serves as a base for creating a simple card or those more elaborate.

I added to the fun by seeing if I can use this template using only ONE sheet of cardstock!  I was personally blown away by the results.  A while back I bought a Craft Smith paper pack (Gradients) on sale for next to nothing at Michael's.  The gradient colors provide somewhat of a tone-on-tone look - which I love!  This card was made using one sheet of cardstock (except for leaves). I think it would make a wonderful baby card or Mother's Day card...this paper pack is a winner in my book!

No More Limiting Yourself to One or Two Photos

Using the Fuse Tool is a great way to expand your layout and add some fun to your pages.  It works great to allow you to use more photos with the same theme.

Here I used the Fuse Tool to add flaps of layouts - essentially ending up with five layouts in one!  Here are the five completed layouts.  The main page is inspired by the challenge at More than Words - a sketch challenge with the theme of "Smile."

Here is a short video showing you how these pages appear in the scrapbook.
That's a layout sure to make my in-laws SMILE!

Scrappin' Background

Page 18 of Nathan's scrapbook - and I'm running out of mojo and running out of coordinated papers.  But still pleased with the simplicity of this page...can't wait to have pictures of Baby Nathan to insert.
