Paper Ala Mode Challenge

Today Paper Ala Mode's challenge is Christmas. I can't believe it's that time of year already (especially since it's actually July as I write this). But as I get older, these days just do go by too quickly!

Yes, it's a shaped card cut on my eClips using a Layered Doily from Monica's Creative Room, papers from our sponsor We Are 3, and a We Are 3 printable.  The sentiment is from the Hope set.

Lots of layers, and the top poinsettia petals are Stickled.  The shape is enhanced with gems.  All the patterned papers are cut from Fairy Holiday.  The printable is from the Roses set.  The other Design Team members have done an amazing job on this challenge, so be sure to stop by Paper Ala Mode and have a look.  We'd love to see your Christmas cards as well.  Remember, the challenge runs for two weeks.

                         

The Paper Ala Mode Challenge

I chose the adorable Victorian Holiday for today's card. She's a printable from We Are 3. I cut two copies, fussy cut around the Victorian lady, and popped her up to look like she's coming out of the frame.

Look at her!  Is that printable precious or what?  There are three others included in the collection - all precious.  You can see them in the We Are 3 Etsy shop.  Go shop!

Love this Victorian style.  The Victorian Holiday printables are coordinated with the Victorian Christmas paper collection.  The Merry Christmas sentiments come in a variety of colors and have a bit of a glitter look to them.

The Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge

Eek!  This week's Paper Ala Mode Challenge at The Outlawz is Spider Webs.  Create a web of inspiration - fun, huh?  As always, our challenges are sponsored by one of my absolute favorite digital companies - We Are 3.  the cute spiders are from the Itsy Bitsy Spider with Balloon set - making it's home on a web from the Web Works collection.  I used a sentiment from the Spider Thoughts set.

Paper Ala Mode Thinking of You

This week at The Outlawz and Paper Ala Mode Challenge, the challenge is Thinking of Others. I chose two papers from our sponsor We Are 3 - papers from Floral Watercolors and Watercolor Strokes. I combined digitally, and couldn't resist using a digital stencil technique on the Watercolor Strokes. I added a doily from the Floral Doily set. The sentiment is from the Hope set.

Paper Ala Mode Angels Challenge

The designers at Paper Ala Mode brought fab inspiration to this week's challenge - themed Angels. All papers, angel, and sentiments are from our sponsor We Are 3.

The die cut behind the angel is an svg from Monica's Creative Room, welded to a rectangle for the solid bottom.

The angel's wings and halo are glittered, but the photo doesn't really show.  They are actually pretty awesome!  I added some pearls and hearts, and that's about it.

Here is this month's two-page layout sketch at Stick It Down.  Oooh, fun!  I grabbed one of my favorite paper collections and went to work. 

Couldn't resist flipping the sketch - both vertically and horizontally.  The paper is from the We Are 3's Little Star collection - including all the cut-out stars.  The title is popped up for some dimension.

Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper Challenge

I love the whole idea of quick and easy Christmas cards, don't you?  I was happy to find a simple card to case in this week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast. The patterned borders is from the Homeland collection at We Are 3. 

Fruit for Paper Ala Mode

Here I'm using the precolored Strawberry Cone - a simple card made interesting by just twisting the top layer a bit. The cone is backed by paper from the Fruity collection. 

                   

August Stick It Down Single-Page Layout Sketch

This layout is inspired by the single-page layout sketch at Stick It Down!  I used Best of Autumn papers.  The sentiment is from my stash of alphabet pages I bought when I first started scrapbooking.

Use Fall Colors - Paper Ala Mode

A pretty simple card - no dimension. But a lot of people actually have trouble with single-layered designs. I digitally filled a swatch with the striped design from Thankful, and placed that on top of the dotted paper. I added the sentiment from the Autumn set - and the Hearts and Home Birdie.  We have great inspiration at Paper Ala Mode.

                

Power Poppy Creative Confetti

This card is for the Creative Confetti Challenge at Power Poppy using Black-Eyed Susan and a sentiment from Irresistible Peonies - all from Power Poppy.  For some reason, I love to color my Black-Eyed Susans blue - I think they are just the cutest.  They're colored digitally.  The background paper is from Tea Time by We Are 3.  I also made a strip of paper with Black-Eyed Susans to show through the vellum.  This week's theme is "Make It Your Way" - with elements provided based on birth month and initials.  As usual, I skimmed instructions and found after the card was made that I was to use both initials - I only used C for pink - and my birth month August called for vellum.

We Are 3 Fairy Dreams Release

This week We Are 3 released a new collection - Fairy Dreams. Of course, I just had to play! 

I just used a strip of the gorgeous paper - love the colors in this paper.  The entire collection is a fabulous assortment, so be sure to have a look.

Anything Lavinia - Fairy Dreams

I recently have begun creating fairy-themed cards here and there. They can be ADDICTING! Of course, one of the reasons I like them is they lend themselves well to single-layer cards. This new release from We Are 3 is Fairy Dreams - so I decided to use the Dragonfly Keeper and surround her with Wild Mushrooms and Fairy Fir Trees. And there you go! I'm entering this in the Anything Lavinia challenge.

A Mini-Me Card

Oh, what fun the current Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge is this week. They are celebrating "Mini Me!" I just love little versions of things - if you ever visit Tucson, be sure to visit the Miniature Museum! The papers for my standard A2 card and it's Mini-Me version gift card are from We Are 3 - I combined paper from Just Autumn and Romantic Hearts. The cupcake is Watermelon Cupcake.

For the lacy shaped matting behind the cupcake, I used a doily from Monica's Creative Room.  I printed the layers because the details are much too small for my machine to cut.

Creative Memories Layout - We Are 3 Papers

Yikes! I've been avoiding Walmart and sending photos to be processed only 1-2 times a month. Hard to keep all these empty layouts straight! This layout is featuring artwork from neighborhood kids - drawings they made for us for birthdays and hospital stays and just because. I love their thoughtful artwork and especially their excited faces when they give us their handmade cards - I have such a hard time tossing them!  So decided instead they belong in my scrapbooks.  So here's just a tasted of my neighborhood art talent.
