Snowflake Village from Tutti Designs

This card is for the Kerst Christmas Challenge.  I took the Snowflake Village from our sponsor, Tutti Dies, and cut it apart to adhere on the card.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.  The background papers and the sentiment are from We Are 3. 

Valentine Be Mine!

An earlier freebie at My Scrap Chick  was a Gnome Candy Bar Wrapper.  This fabulous file is addictive!  And a wonderful way to use up scraps.  For these first adorable gnomes I used scraps from the Spring Butterflies and Dreamy Creamy collections...both from We Are 3  They are definitely fun to make!  I added some miscellaneous word art perfect for the neighborhood kiddies for Valentine's Day.

Here's a few others I made - all for the neighbor kiddies.  All from scraps - notice I did get a bit carried away!

New Challenge at Paper Ala Mode

Today there's a new challenge at Paper Ala Mode.  The theme is "Christmas."  Indeed!  The Dreamy Creamy collection is particularly special for Christmas.  

Just look at this elegant paper!  Fabulous it is!  It's always so much fun to add just a bit of color to this paper collection.

The garden of flowers are fussy cut and popped atop a box card from Simply Crafty.  Been saving this file for just such a challenge.  The sentiment is from the new Christmas Banners set.  Hope you go visit the Paper Ala Mode Challenge to see the festive makes by the Design Team - please come play along.  See you there!  By the way, there's only one more challenge for the year!

Christmas Wishes with a Pointy Poinsettia

I had planned to make an exception this week and NOT post a Christmas project - but then I remembered I requested the Pointy Poinsettia for my Paper Ala Mode design.  For this card, I wanted to move away from the traditional red poinsettia.

Well, I started playing with We Are 3 scraps from my stash - although this card was so easy to make - and I pretty much used all scraps - I think it turned out to be an elegant card.  Of all the different ways I have used these papers, I think this is the most beautiful card I've made with them.

The background piece is Knit Coffee from the Toasty Warm Neutral Collection.  The left panel is from the Christmas Tree Collection.  The middle panel is a piece of Vintage Dots from the Mermaid Love Collection.  The third panel was cut from Garden Dance.  For the poinsettia, I changed the black line to a gold for an "embossed" look - then printed on Butterflies digital paper - the leaves and sentiment were colored using Gold Foil digital paper.  Remember, the advantage of using digital papers and images is that you can easily change the size of the designs to what you need.

After cutting the poinsettia, bend each petal in half to give the flower dimension.

Here today with a new card for We Are 3. I started by picking some of the yummy papers from the Exotic Seaside Collection - so many choices to pick from.  You can see the collection here.  Finished it up with a sentiment from the Mermaid Love Collection and a butterfly from the Dreamy Creamy Collection.
