Take Time to Smell the Flowers

I knew today would not be filled with crafting for fun because I'm out of beautiful sympathy cards - yet my phone keeps ringing.  To save time, I decided to go white on white - I think there's nothing more elegant than white on white.  So here are a couple sympathy cards.

Here is the second card.  I switched out the flower type and embossed design.

With Deepest Sympathy

Today I was practicing coloring white roses when my hubby came in asking for a sympathy card for the family of a golf buddy who had died yesterday. I continued with my coloring - and altered the image a bit. The original image from Power Poppy (Graceful Still Life) includes books and a hat. I used Gimp to erase those elements, and I added a golf club and golf ball. Quite the turn my card took - but I love how it turned out.
Here's a close-up of the image.

With Sympathy - Paper Ala Mode

I'm pleased to share with you a card I made with Birds Playing in Birdbath (Angie's Digital Stamps).  I chose this for a sympathy card because the image of bird bath sent by coworkers when my mother died is always with me.  It was such a unique and thoughtful gift - and have since given bird baths to others.  Be sure to join us at the Paper Ala Mode challenge and share your sympathy card with us.

A Sympathy Card with Stars and Stripes

Creativity is contagious - and I generally get my inspiration from others.  Usually when I CASE a card, it's difficult to even be able to tell - however, this time I will admit I absolutely was so inspired by another that I pretty much copied it down to the centimeter!  I was in desperate need for a patriotic sympathy card.  A Google search displayed one card that stopped me dead in my tracks....it's link led me to Pinterest....Pinterest led me to Splitcoast Stampers.  I searched galleries of Splitcoast Stampers desperately looking for the original artist - to both compliment her and ask permission to CASE - no luck.  So if you happen to know the person who so inspired me, I sure would like to know as although this is a simple card - I just would not have come up with this design myself.  Thanks to that wonderful cardmaker for sharing perfect inspiration and a gorgeous card with me.

Sympathy Cards

How about this sketch challenge (#424) from Mojo Monday.  I love this simple layout.  It is perfect for mass producing - yet allowing each card to have its own look.

This next card is the same layout - turned sideways.

And one more take on the sketch.

Heartfelt Sympathy

Today I am bringing you a card I made for last month's SALSA swap - it was to be a sympathy card.  I chose a soft pink style - in the same format of my Baby Girl Wishes design for the Robin's Nest about a month ago.
