Join in the fun every month at Craft-Dee BowZ for a challenge (CDB32) that includes a handmade bow. I wanted to do something quick and simple.
The paper - Puppy Dogs' Tails by Graphic 45 and Berry Watercolor by Simple Stories - are scraps from my grandson's scrapbook. The image is left over from a paper pack by DCWV. What do you think? My card was inspired by an ad in an old Papercrafts (2006) magazine.
My second card, also inspired by the Papercrafts ad, was made with scraps from DCWV.
I enjoy challenges - even simple ones such as "using a bow." Remember, the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge runs through December 31 - so make sure you visit Craft-Dee BowZ every day for fabulous inspiration!

Cherry Buttons
I'm not much of a button embellisher....but I was inspired by a simple card in Cardmaking & Papercrafts Magazine. Several years ago, I bought a big bag of red, white, and blue buttons for a class, and still have lots left. So when I saw this simple card, I dragged out those red buttons. And what perfect timing for Miriam's Crafting Monthly Challenge.
You can join in the fun, too - with a $10 prize for goodies from Miriam's Crafting! Visit their blog for more inspiration on using buttons on your cards.

Flaming Chili Peppers! at The Robin's Nest
Hi Everyone,
As you drive along roads in Arizona, within nearly every mile, you can pull to the side of the road and buy a beautiful string of hot red chili peppers. Chili Flame Cardstocks are a perfect way to celebrate this Southwest tradition. This month, The Robin's Nest is bringing you amazing projects that showcase the Hot Flame Line. Take a break from your busy schedule and enjoy all the creativity.
Today's project uses Chili Flame Cardstock, Chili Flame Border, and Rumple Ribbon from Lovebug Creations.

Supplies Used
The finished card is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2". The card front is Ochre Classic Glitter Cardstock, matted with the solid side of Chili Flame Border.
- Chili Flame - Thermal Icing Cardstock
- Chili Flame Border
- Ochre Classic Glitter Cardstock
- Labels Four Dies (Spellbinders)
- Rumple Ribbon - Sunflower (Lovebug Creations)
- Winter Retreat Dew Drops
- Glitter - Cayenne, Poppy Orange, and Regal Red (Glitter Ritz)

A 3-1/4" square was cut from Chili Flame Cardstock - matted with Ochre Classic Glitter and the solid side of Chili Flame Border. This was popped up in the center of the card.
I cut several small "chili pepper" shapes and covered them with different shades of glitter. These are arranged on a Spellbinders die cut out of Ochre Classic Glitter. The chili peppers were embellished with Sunflower Rumple Ribbon. The ribbon is tied in a bow, with the ends sliced to resemble straw.
A few Winter Retreat Dew Drops finish off the card. How ironic that "Winter Retreat" Dew Drops would make this card so hot!

Our Love is a Flame - The Robin's Nest
Hi Everyone,
This month, we are pleased to be featuring the Flame Collection - another incredible cardstock collection by The Robin's Nest. We are also partnering with Lovebug Creations and their beautiful Rumple Ribbon. The Robin's Nest Blog will be featuring these products in all kinds of projects all month - enjoy!
The card I designed this month went through quite the metamorphosis. With my hubby being a Harley rider, the first image that came to mind when seeing the Mango Flame Collection was motorcycles. Then there's adding the Rumple Ribbon. Hmmmm...next idea - a card with the Biker Babe in mind. Well - my card did NOT turn out as I envisioned. But I fell in love with my Rumple Ribbon flower - so my card quickly turned into an anniversary card for that Harley guy of mine.
For this card, I cut a card front using an envelope svg file resized to 5-1/2" x 4-1/4". I used Spellbinders' Label Four Nestabilities Dies for the black and white nested labels.

I wanted a vintage feel, so I made a flower out of Sunset Rumple Ribbon.
To make the flower, first I made slits in the ribbon about 1/2" apart. I cut a 1-1/2" circle and ran it through the Xyron.

Then wrap the ribbon around the circle - begin on the outside edge and continue a circle until you reach the middle. For a more vintage look, I inked the ribbon with black ink - and finished the flower with some Neon Mini Dew Drops in the center.

I added Leaf Green Rumple Ribbon for flower leaves. Here is a close up of the finished flower.
Neon Orange Mini Dew Drops and Black Tear Dew Drops made a fun flourish below the flower. To make a flourish, use Glossy Accents to make a thin flourish design - adding Dew Drops. Not good at making flourishes? Use a stamp first!
The Mango Flame Border added to the inside message to my hubby.
