New Release at We Are 3

There's a new paper collection at We Are 3, and it's beautiful.  It's called Canvas Scenes, and it has a lovely textured watercolor feel.  I chose an adorable sentiment from the Magical Sparkle set and glittered up some wonderful fashion accessories.

The design team is making some fab creations, so be sure to check the Facebook page for inspiration.  Better yet, let's see YOUR creations!

New Sentiments at We Are 3

There's new sentiments in the We Are 3 Etsy shop - today I'm using My Thoughts.  I am using the gorgeous Bokeh Blends for the background.

The flowers are a sticker outline from Elizabeth Craft Designs - with the flowers glittered.

The Outlawz Color Challenge - Reflection

What a fun challenge this week at The Outlawz Color Challenge! But once again I failed to "remember" the details - and my card does not include a reflection! Of course, I couldn't resist still sharing the card with you.
Be sure to stop by the Color Challenge, though, to see all the fabulous reflective creations...please go play along.

Have Fun with Sparkle at Paper Ala Mode

Woo, Hoo!  It's Saturday and time for a new theme at Paper Ala Mode - Sparkle!  For my card, I embossed white cardstock, then fussy cut around the embossed frame.  I used glitter on my circle to give my card some sparkle.  I used Fall Maple Leaf from our sponsor, Fred She Said for an autumn touch.

Pastel Angels by We Are 3

Today I am happy to introduce you to the new We Are 3 Pastel Angels digital paper collection.
I love trying new folds with my card and was thrilled at how well this bridge card came together.  I added the svg files from Snowy Scene by SVGCuts covered with Glitter Ritz.
No automatic alt text available.

Snowflake Kisses

I used We Are 3's new Snowflake Kisses sentiment and Nautical digital papers to create this STUNNING ornament.  Just looking at it speaks for itself!  No go run, don't walk, over to We Are 3's Facebook page and start following if you want to be inspired with digital papers.

Funky Cakes

I really love Glitter Ritz - but so seldom take the time to design with it recently.  Outline stickers and fine glitter can be used to create fun themed cards with sparking images.  To create this set of cards, I used Funky Cakes outline stickers and Watercolor Batik digital papers (We Are 3).

Glitter and Lace

Using tulle and glitter to make your background can be so fun - especially if, like me, you are addicted to glitter! It's always fun if you play with glitter colors and different tulle designs to achieve different results. Today I am sharing how I created an easy, lace background using glitter - along with a great owl from the Whimsical Owl Trio from today's sponsor at Get Creative Challenges - SLS Lines.
Here is a step-by-step for you:
  • Run a piece of cardstock through a Xyron machine or cover with two-sided adhesive.
  • Carefully cover with a piece of tulle. Using a brayer, be sure there are no wrinkles in the material to assure best coverage.
  • Cover generously with glitter. Burnish the glitter by rubbing it into the cardstock with your finger. Remove the lace (it can be used for other projects).
  • Cover generously with the second color of glitter. Burnish the glitter by rubbing it into the cardstock with your finger.
Maybe next time you play with glitter, you can try this technique with some fun lace.  Play - you will get many different results.

The owl was colored with Photoshop. The spider web is Spiderweb Doily by My Scrap Chick. The sentiment is left over from a Halloween paper stack purchased years ago.

Thanks for joining me today. Be sure to join us at Get Creative Challenges - theme is Black and Orange.

Splitcoast Stampers Sketch + SALSA Mystery Item

Thanks for stopping by. Today I'm sharing my "mystery item" card for SALSA (a local stamp group).  The mystery item was a piece of yellow cellophane.  I used an Elizabeth Crafts bird sticker on top of the cellophane - then used Copic Markers to add additional color from behind...one of the markers I used actually lifted the yellow from the cellophane - resulting in the white you see.

The design is inspired by Sketch Challenge #606 at Splitcoast Stampers.

SIZZLIN’ SUMMER ’16 Sketches are here

ss1607
The fuse tool works great to allow you to include more pictures than would normally fit on a 12 x 12 page - as you see in the video below.  The base layout is inspired by Sketch #07 at Scrapbook Challenges...while this layout allows for two photos - my layout includes six photos by adding four extra photos in accordion-fold pockets using the Fuse Tool.
Check out the completed layout in the album using the Fuse Tool:

Tulle Cards

My hubby brought me flowers for Easter - how sweet.  But even better - these flowers were wrapped in a huge piece of fabulous glittery tulle!  Today I'm sharing several cards I made using the tulle.  I love the textures!

For the first card, I used the glitter technique - using the tulle as a stencil.
For the second card, I glued the tulle on top of the card base for a textured background.
I did the same for the next card - but glued the green tulle on pink cardstock.
And just a fun bowtie for this little fellow!
For the last card, I glued the tulle onto a cactus die cut - then embossed the cactus.
I have loads of tulle left - that was quite the haul.  Think I'll be saving the rest for some Christmas cards!

Star Bright

Linda Moore posted a pretty "Cut-Apart" card in Cardmaking and More the other day. Here is my version for their challenge, as well as a SALSA swap themed "Star Bright Star Light."
Here is a pic of the card opened - as you can see, the inside sentiment is actually showing on the front when closed.  These pictures don't show it, but this style really gives the card some fun dimension.

Chirper

Welcome to my first Christmas card for this year.  Just found the ABC Christmas Challenge and had lots of fun browsing their designers' samples.  So many beautiful and inspirational cards.  This week's theme is "F - Frills or No Frills."  Here's my entry with both Frills (foil and glitter) and No Frills (clean and simple design).

Memory Keeping

Isn't Feeling Sketchy's Challenge #139 amazing?  For some reason, it kept screaming layout at me - rather than card.  So today's page is of my grandson crawling beneath a chair - hiding from Mommy.  Unfortunately, parents don't allow me to share my wonderful memories - so no baby picture.
Be Happy - this is a stickie rub-on sentiment covered with glitter.  These rub-ons were so very popular when I first began scrappin' 11 years ago - I still remember the ah-hah moment I found these in a Ben Franklin . . . that day was full of them - wandering into the craft aisle not knowing there were so many cool scrappin' toys!  Still brings chills to me. LOL!  Same chills as I used this sentiment today to find out it's still sticky - still such an awesome embellishment that leaves such a clean, classy image.

The Great Christmas Card Marathon

Okay - how many of you are still working on your holiday cards?  I am!  I am!  I love this time of year - even though I'm working feverishly to remember all my friends and relatives with handcrafted cards.  You, too?  So here is one my makes from yesterday.

Glittered Snowflakes

There's just something about snowflakes on Christmas cards!  Just the beauty of the season.  So this card made from scraps celebrates Christmas in a traditional way.

Welcome, Dreaming Tree

Today I am using a free file - Spooky Coffin - from the Dreaming Tree.  The Dreaming Tree is a new company - their work so far has a nice masculine touch we don't often see - they have some lantern files that just leaves me in awe.  I cannot wait to see what Leo will do with new files over the coming months!  This coffin was easy to put together and is just the right size for Halloween treats for that special Spook!

Playing with Glitter and Copics

I've done some coloring on transparent glitter with outline stickers - today I tried coloring on digital stamp images.  I was pleased that when I covered the image with glitter, there was still a nice dark image coming through - this generally hasn't happened for me with regular stamps.  For a first attempt, I'm pretty pleased...certainly need to choose better colors...guess my Copic collection will have to continue to grow.

The image used here is Flower Accent by QKR Stampede.  The sentiment is a freebie from Lazy Daisy Designs.  For the matting behind the sentiment, I used 6 Background Shapes by Miss Kate Cuttables.
