Graphic 45 Card Class

Susan from Susan's Scrap Club and Bluemoon Scrapbooking put together an online class for all us shut-ins! Papers are from Graphic 45. Susan also used various dies and punches from her stash. It's been a while since I've been able to take a class - so this was fun and inspirational. Thank you, Susan!

The inside of the card actually contains a pocket for a gift card or note....so I added  a We Are 3 sentiment from the Itty Bitty - Sweet set.

Sizzix Eclips Users Group Challenge: Use an SVG Freebie by Birds Cards, Simply Crafty, or Dreaming Tree

For the current challenge at Sizzx Eclips Users Group, we are using Freebies! As it is close to Halloween, I thought a cut and quick card would be fun!
I really wanted to just use stash, so I made the card using Paper Studio papers and an embellie from Graphic 45 - both I'm sure purchased before I retired!!!!  I added a little shadow to Halloween to make it stand out a bit better against the paper pattern.  Thanks for the challenge, Jan - it was fun!

Layout Inspiration with Scrap Our Stash

Hi, Everyone!

Today I am sharing with you a layout inspired by the current challenge at Scrap Our Stash.  Today I am sharing a page that shows one of my grandson's favorite activities - sleeping! (You have to use your imagination as I'm not allowed to share photos of my grandkids.)  Scrap Our Stash has a great Bingo Challenge going on.  The diagonal line I chose is The Color Red (the die-cut background), Hearts, and Mixed Alpha Title (which worked out great since I didn't have enough letters of one kind to make the title).

Beneath Grandpa's Leg

Today I am sharing a very simple design for a layout that highlights photos (and video) of my grandson crawling beneath my husband's leg "bridge."

Playing with Scraps

It's easy to use us scraps to achieve a customized look.  This zig-zag design was completed in just a few steps - cutting the scraps into parallelograms.  To save time in lining up the scraps, I took an old sheet of 12 x 12 - and cut the image in the middle.  Placing that template on top of my page, lining up the scrap pieces took no time...creating a fun and unique background.

Using my Stash

When I'm in a hurry, I choose to simplify my design processing using Googled photos of layouts.  Paperclipping shares a layout that inspired me to incorporate a variety of patterns and embellishments for, hopefully, an eye-catching layout (Nathan's Baby Shower Scrapbook - Page 13).

Adding Interest with Circles

Set your scrapbook layouts apart with some simple cuts - such as circles.  The circles (inspired by Michigan Scrapbooker, Winter 2011-2012) add fun and texture to the background.  These circles also make this the perfect entry for the current challenge at Moving Along, With Time - Spots and Dots.

Anything Goes Challenge with Craft-Dee Bowz

Join in the fun every month at Craft-Dee BowZ for a challenge (CDB32) that includes a handmade bow.  I wanted to do something quick and simple.

The paper - Puppy Dogs' Tails by Graphic 45 and Berry Watercolor by Simple Stories - are scraps from my grandson's scrapbook.  The image is left over from a paper pack by DCWV.  What do you think?  My card was inspired by an ad in an old Papercrafts (2006) magazine.

My second card, also inspired by the Papercrafts ad, was made with scraps from DCWV.

I enjoy challenges - even simple ones such as "using a bow."  Remember, the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge runs through December 31 - so make sure you visit Craft-Dee BowZ every day for fabulous inspiration!

Butterflies and the Wedding Couple

Hi, All!

Today's card is very easy to do.

I used a wedding couple die cut I made years ago - can't even remember where I got the file - or where the file is.  I covered a piece of Graphic 45 with some glittered vellum.  I glittered three butterflies and gemmed them.

Diamonds and Butterflies

In the true spirit of love, I thought I would make a card with the well-known symbol of love - a diamond ring.  This ring is available for download at Little Scraps of Heaven for free.

Valentine

It's just a habit of mine to save time by mass producing cards - with a twist.  This time my Valentine card is made with scraps from a variety of paper collections - Christmas, Graphic 45 Place in Time, and Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters.

Because I used the heart shape on my Christmas cards, I was on a roll in changing the message and getting these cut quickly.  Now I'm finally able to take advantage of eClips' Print-2-Cut function - thanks to Santa Hubby.  So I'm saving lots of time by keeping the cards basically the same - just changing up the paper and design.

So... here's another card.

Paper Scraps Cards

Hi, All!

I have more Thanksgiving cards today.

I wanted to test myself to see if I possibly would be able to use up some non-traditional scraps that I had.  Generally speaking, I'm happy with the results.

Sometimes it's fun to experiment by only using a limited amount of supplies.  It's a great way to expand those artistic skills.

Scraps & Cards

Hello, Everyone!

This weekend it was my plan to get closer to finishing my grandson's scrapbook....and to finish an order for retirement cards.  I ran out of cardstock for the scrapbook - won't be able to get more until Thursday.  So - silver lining - I'll be able to finish the retirement cards.  I was on a roll....finished (so I thought) and when I went to pack them up - realized I was only HALF finished!   Argggh!  I love to use sketches when I'm in a hurry - so I pulled out all the sketches from Operation Write Home - and started in on my scraps.  These are simple - but surprisingly got many done in a very short time.  If I can continue at this rate for the next couple days, I will be finished!  For sure!
