It's a Girl and Stick It Down Challenge

How about this sweet baby layout?

It's inspired by this month's single-page sketch at Stick It Down!  I turned the sketch on it's side.  The journaling was computer generated.

Unfortunately, I can't post pics of the new arrival...but I can guarantee she is CUTE!  The photos will be one of Dad holding new baby, and one of Mom holding new baby.

I keep being drawn to the beautiful turquoise papers in this collection (Positive Vibes - Digi Crea) - have to remind myself to add a little pink here and there.

Also not sure if it's my cameras, computer screen, or my eyes....but I sure have a hell of a time posting these photos with true colors.  This layout is a beautiful soft turquoise, yet my photos always seem to come out baby blue...if anybody has any helpful hints, I'd appreciate them!  I've tried all different rooms and lighting and outside with natural light...two different cameras...and they all come out the same.  :(

Fun in the Sun Grandson's Layout

I love clean, brightly colored scrapbook layouts and decided to use a simple layout for this page. To add dimension, I added some burlap ribbon and burlap scraps in corners of a photo, as well as buttons. I think it looks pretty. I also added some fiber to the burlap and top of one photo.

Eclips Users Group Challenge - Masculine

I've had to miss a lot of challenges lately due to life issues, but I had a chance to participate in the Masculine Challenge at the Eclips Users Group....well, this time I made three projects! Woo Hoo! I'm also working on another project - a Gift Bag of Gift Bags - so each of the entries was a gift bag.

Making Paper with Digital Stamps

I had so much fun today making my own paper design using digital stamps, inspired by Elizabeth's Inspire Me Monday technique over at Power Poppy - Making Japanese Paper-Inspired Designs with Digital Stamps. For my paper, I began with a patterned paper from We Are 3's Textures collection. I then downloaded a Lattice 40 from Monica's Creative Room and used it as a digital stencil. Using the stencil in Gimp, I "spraypainted" a gradient design over the textures paper. I topped this off with digital flowers - Black-Eyed Susan from Power Poppy. Is that paper not gorgeous?!?!?!? Here is a purse giftbag I made using the paper. A pic of the paper alone is shown below - I just love it!!!!

The purse file is an exclusive file made for Sizzix Eclips Users Group by Trina Struckman.  There is a "wallet" to go along that carries gift cards - hope to make that tomorrow.

My final entry for the Power Poppy Power & Spark Challenge - Go Ahead, Inspire Me. I had so much fun with this challenge this month!!!! Thanks, Power Poppy Brigade, for pushing me to spend time on those posts you all work so hard to post for us.

Beautiful Wishes

Hello, Everyone!  Welcome to a new month at We Are 3 and, as always, new papers, images, and sentiments!  Today I would like to share a simple card perfect to let your favorite coffee lover know you are thinking of her.  The base is white cardstock, with a grey matting.  To top two layers both come from the new Framed Neutrals.  The sentiment is from the new Tea Tags.
I paper pieced the cup sleeve from We Are 3's Woodland Delight.  The cute little coffee cup is from A Creative Need.  I finished the card off with a simple button and gorgeous ribbon.

Owl Gift

Sharing a card made with Table Scraps from We Are 3 - I had fun using Watercolor Leaves to paperpiece Patriotic Party Owl from Kadoodle Bug.  I also used Ladybug Lace for matting the card and label.  Inspiration for the card came from this weeks Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers.

Please check out We Are 3 to see a great selection of fun digital papers and images.

Spring Days

Today I have a quick and easy layout to post.
I am so having a hard time getting good shots of my layouts!  The sentiment in the circle reads "So nice out, Damien felt he needed two hats."  I wish I could share the photo of my grandson - who insisted on wearing two hats on a walk with his mom.

Terra Nova Papers and Stuck?! Sketches Inspiration

I am taking a breather - finally back at my computer from an unexpected "siesta" after I came home Saturday to find my room ripped apart so my hubby could refinish our computer desk.  I'm enjoying a cup of tea and taking some time to share my layout inspired by Stuck?! Sketches.  This is the main page using their sketch.

In addition, I finally took out my Fuse Tool and put it to work.  I added four additional 6 x 12 layouts, two additional 12 x 8 layouts, and two additional 12 x 4 layouts - fused together to make the layout a bit more interactive - check out this video.

Sketch Challenge: Wedding Layout

470
Happy Monday, Everyone!

Popping in with an entry for Sketch #470 at Scrapbook Challenges.  It was a paper kind of day - but I'll be quiet for a while as I get my St. Patrick's Day cards ready.

For this challenge, I made a layout of my in-laws for one of my hubby's siblings.  I am using the fabulous papers from DCWV - The Rustic Stack.  It's a little bit country - and little bit elegance...but always puts out an adorable project sure to delight my in-laws.
The sentiment is from Baer Design Studios - the digital image is I Love You by Kajsan.  Wishing you a great week!

Throwback Thursday for my In-Laws

Thanks for joining me today for the first page of the family album for my husband's siblings - where it all began with their parents' wedding.  The layout is inspired by the February sketch challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.

DCWV Dimensional Scrapbook Layout

Two of my favorite things are papercrafting and papercrafting challenges.  Today, I'm sharing a layout that I made for a challenge I found a few days ago - problem?  I can't remember what challenge!  Oh, well.  The challenge was Scrapbook Bingo.  The line I chose called for using a punch, buttons, flowers, and two alphas (I assumed this meant at least two letters).
To create the flower centers, I started by wrapping buttons in two-sided adhesive, then covered with gold glitter.  The color combinations from this Rustic paper pack from DCWV are so much fun!

I decided to add extra dimension to the page by adding a strip of ruffled crepe paper.  The title comes from Cloud Nine.  For the punch element, I used a border from EK Success.

Choo Choo Grandson

Today I am sharing a layout using papers that I think complement each other perfectly:  American Crafts, Doodlebug, Scrapbook Customs, and Tim Holtz.
My inspiration for today's layout is from an old Hero Arts catalog (2005).

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend - and find some time to make your holiday crafts!

I Believe It's Raining

For these cards, I started with a Rainy Day Bear from Bugaboo.  I was also playing with patterns in Photoshop -used the bird design for the bear's umbrella and raincoat.  While it didn't turn out how I envisioned, I thought the muted image ended up being perfect!

The paper I used is DCWV's Garden Tea Party.

Enjoy!

Bingo Challenge: Happy Ladybug Cards and Swaps

I've been participating in a lot of swaps with Happy Ladybug Cards and Swaps...Oh, and don't forget new Challenges this year!  That's where I came across this Bingo Challenge.  I was intrigued - so joined.  I was not so enthused when I received my personal challenge based on the numbers I picked - Distressed, Pop-Up, No Words, Stitching, and Buttons.  I don't generally do Distress, Stitching, and Buttons!  But I finally ended up with a card I'm pretty pleased with.

Today I have a really simple card for you. I love cards like this that have a splash of decorative paper and the sentiment is the main focus.

Baby Decor

Today's project celebrates babies. This is room decor I made for a coworker when his first baby was born.  It offers a little of everything inspired by babies - sweet flowers, pearls, a globe frame full of memories, and Winnie the Pooh, of course!  This papercraft project makes a great addition to any baby's room.

Cherry Buttons

I'm not much of a button embellisher....but I was inspired by a simple card in Cardmaking & Papercrafts Magazine.  Several years ago, I bought a big bag of red, white, and blue buttons for a class, and still have lots left.  So when I saw this simple card, I dragged out those red buttons.  And what perfect timing for Miriam's Crafting Monthly Challenge.

You can join in the fun, too - with a $10 prize for goodies from Miriam's Crafting!  Visit their blog for more inspiration on using buttons on your cards.
