Pimp Out Showcase with Deezy Does It!

If you are looking for the Butterflies Blog Hop, go here!

This week my blog is being showcased in the

Pimp-Out/Showcase Hop!!!
Brought to you by Deezy Does It!

Thanks, Wanda, for inviting me!

This "Weekly" Pimp-Out/Showcase Hop is to gain new followers, as well as bring more traffic to your blog and - at the same time - receive greater exposure.  It is also a great way to meet other bloggers, exchange ideas, get great tips and learn new techniques - all while showing your "art."

Before we begin, there are just a few simple rules to the hop.

1. Follow the Host (first link):
2. Follow the showcased blogger: Short on Ideas (second link)
3. Link up below using Linky Tools.
4. Visit at least 3 blogs from the linked up list below and leave a comment.  Let them know you came from the Weekly "Pimp-Out/Showcase" Hop and inform them you are a follower so they can return the favor.
~Please remember that if someone from the hop follows you, be sure to return the favor~

Welcome to my Showcase. My name is Camille Short (Short on Ideas) – and I admit to being a craftaholic, as well as a procraftinator! I have been papercrafting for about eight years now! I got my start when my new husband mistook a sarcastic remark about wanting to scrapbook seriously . . . and surprised me with about $300 of crafting goodies for my 50th birthday. The good news was that he was listening – the bad news was I wanted NOTHING to do with crafting! But being newlyweds, I humored him and signed up for some classes . . . OMG! It did not take me long to become addicted! In addition, he never complains about how much time or money I spend on my crafting – since it’s all his fault anyways!

I’m a retired educator who has always enjoyed showing people how to do things. After a move to Arizona from Michigan, I began teaching papercrafting classes at AZ Scrapbooking in Green Valley, Arizona. AZ has a great design team who brings inspiration to all their meetings – after a few years with them, I was inspired to share my talents with others through design teams. I first designed for Hobby Baby (sister company to Globecraft Memories and Piccolo Décor). I am currently designing for The Robin’s Nest – my favorite products being their Fleur Cardstock, Glittered Cardstocks, and Dew Drops!  I recently returned to work full time at Hobby Lobby as Office Manager . . . and when I won’t be bookkeeping, you will be able to find me in the Papercrafting section!
Since working full time has crimped my crafting time, I didn’t get anything new made for this showcase. But I do want to share a couple of my all-time favorite projects.
My wedding album is still sitting in the bottom of a full closet – perhaps ¼ finished. (Guessing that will never be completed!) However, I was inspired at a CHA Convention to get my favorite wedding photos on the wall. In this project, a 12 x 12 canvas is scrapbooked – embellished with three Globecraft frames at the bottom. (Step-by-step instructions can be found on the post Eyes of Love.)

I enjoy creating cards more than anything else. My cards can be purchased at Luke’s Italian Beef Restaurant and the Medicine Shoppe in Tucson, as well as Fort Wilkins Gift Shop in Copper Harbor, Michigan. These Christmas cards using Robin’s Nest Cardstock are some of my favorites.

When you have some free time on your hands, browse through my blog’s older posts and visit some of my other fun projects!

Thank you, Deezy Does It, for inviting me to share my passion in the Pimp Out Showcase!

To link up, please head on over to Deezy Does It! and join the party.

Butterflies and Roses - The Robin's Nest Sorbet Glitter Cardstock

Hi Everyone,

This month, we are pleased to be featuring the Sorbet Glitter Collection. This cardstock collection is another classic beauty that is a must-have for every cardmaker and scrapbooker.

The Sorbet Glitter collection features five great colors that coordinate with each other. They are currently on sale for 20% off! The Robin's Nest Blog will be featuring these papers in all kinds of projects all month - enjoy the fabulous creations with Sorbet Glitter Cardstock.

We are also partnering with gel-a-tins - gel-a-tins are clear stamps that are soft and sticky like a gelly candy - packaged in a handy metal tin perfect for storing!  You'll find a wide assortment of letter and image stamps on their website, as well as ideas featuring Robin's Nest products on their blog.

The first card I designed for this week's post was made before I had my hot little hands on gel-a-tins.  This card features four of the five Sorbet colors - Aquamarine, Shocking Pink, Kiwi, and Blue Raspberry. This is a simple card, as you can see...another timesaver for those on the go! I first layered Shocking Pink Sorbet on top of Aquamarine Sorbet. For the top layer, I used two colors - Kiwi and Blue Raspberry. I wrapped the layers with some dollar-store ribbon, with a festive bow. For the top of the card, I cut two Shocking Pink pieces using Cuttlebug's Honeycomb Poppies die set. I topped the card off with a Aquamarine rose (with Kiwi Sorbet leaves). The rose is from the Bella Rose stamp set by Heartfelt Creations.

Unfortunately, the camera doesn't pick up all the great glittered detail on Sorbet Glitter cardstock....but the classic sorbet colors and the fanciful glittered detail make Sorbet Glitter cardstock a must have!

Supplies Used to Complete Rose card

Then I received my happy mail!  Since I think any card missing something can be made beautiful with a butterfly, I was delighted to receive gel-a-tins' Butterflies Are Free stamp set, along with Pink of Me gelly powder.  Already loving my rose card, I recreated it with a twist and replaced my rose with a couple butterflies in Pink of Me gelly.  Loving them!

Here is a close-up of the great butterflies - they are all fanciful - full of great detail!  Of course, they were just screaming to be embellished with Dew Drops!

You will love, love, love Sorbet Glitter Cardstock - be sure to check back to the Robin's Nest Blog every day for excellent ideas using this excellent product, as usual!  The posts are full of inspiration.  Be sure to also visit gel-a-tins for their grand inspiration using Robin's Nest products!  Enjoy!  Also enjoy 20% Off all colors of Sorbet Glitter Cardstock being featured this month!

Robin's Nest Sorbet Glitter Cardstock Collection

Hi Everyone,

It's the beginning of April already....wow, seems like the year just began! Today I am excited to bring you a card sample using Robin's Nest's Glitter Sorbet Cardstock - available in great "sorbet" colors. With this collection, you will achieve lovely cards for all occasions - but these colors are especially perfect for spring. The sky's the limit! Let this month's ideas take your creativity to brand new heights.

Supplies Used to Complete this card
For this card, I used four colors of Glitter Sorbet Cardstock - Kiwi, Aquamarine, Blue Raspberry, and Shocking Pink. I created a "frame" in Kiwi. I then matted Aquamarine on top of Blue Raspberry (border punched with Martha Stewart's Poinsettia Flourish), then on top of another piece of Aquamarine. I accented the punched matting with Tear Dew Drops.

I used the dress form die from Spellbinders French Frills - one layer in Shocking Pink; another layer in Kiwi. I used a Copic Marker (B34 - Manganese Blue) with a spray gun to stencil the dress form body.

The card is accented with Malibar Clematis in the corner and three layered butterflies - all cut from Sorbet cardstock. The butterflies are layered in Blue Raspberry, Shocking Pink, and Kiwi to make them stand out against the Aquamarine Sorbet Cardstock.

Be sure to visit The Robin's Nest all month for creative inspiration from our great design team using Sorbet Glitter Cardstock! Remember, all colors of Sorbet Glitter Cardstock are being featured this month and are 20% Off.

Next week, The Robin's Nest is sponsoring the Daisy Days Blog Hop - Friday, April 12. There will be lots of blog candy given away - EACH BLOG will give a prize package valued at $15 that will include Tear Dew Drops, Paper, and Embellishments. One Grand Prize Winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate toward purchases at The Robin's Nest online store. So be sure to come back and visit The Chattering Robins Blog on April 12 - and remember to tell all your friends.

Easter Blog Hop

Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail.....

Welcome to the Easter Blog Hop where we have come together to share some spectacular Easter inspiration with you.

If you arrived here from Rhonda's blog, you are in the right place.  If you just happened to "HOP" in, please start at the beginning with Robin at http://scrapandchat.blogspot.com/.

Easter says Spring to me....and Spring says Chirping Birds. And I needed something quick and easy these days. So with the help of Graphic 45's A Place in Time Cardstock, here are two Easter cards using bird images.

These bird cards were made specifically for this Easter Blog Hop . . . but I also want to share with new hoppers my more traditional Easter designs created for The Robin's Nest featuring their Neon Glitter Crackle Cardstock and Dew Drops, as well as Epiphany charms.

Tena is your next stop on the hop  . . . but here is the entire line up in case you got lost along the way:

Have a very Blessed Easter!

Neon Easter - at The Robin's Nest

Hi Everyone,

We are delighted this month to share ideas using Neon Crackle Cardstock, Mini Dew Drops, and goodies from Epiphany, this month's partner.  With Neon Crackle Cardstock, you will achieve lovely projects for all occasions.  Both my postings feature Easter, as it's that time of year, but this cardstock is perfect for creating sweetheart, friend, and all-occasion cards - especially with all the bright colors, the sky's the limit!  Of course, Neon Crackle Cardstock coordinates well with Neon Mini Dew Drops, adding even more value to your project.

I recently changed jobs and have been participating in store set-up for the past couple weeks ... then sent out of town for additional training.  My cushy life of having five-day weekends has ended.  So when I was thinking about a card design for this week, I could relate to all of you who have crazy lives with careers, family, and other countless responsibilities that take you away from making fancy cards.  So I thought I'd share an incredibly easy Easter card - taking advantage of Robin's Nest elegant supplies in Neon Crackle Cardstock and Mini Dew Drops.

Supplies Used to Complete this card
I first folded a piece of Pink Crackle Glitter Cardstock in half.  Using an egg template sized to fit a standard envelope, I traced the image on the back of the cardstock (leaving a bit of the folded edge at the left) and cut by hand. I used Word to create an Easter Sentiment and sized that to be 1" to fit in the Epiphany Round 25 charm.

I punched Doily Lace Borders out of Blue Crackle Glitter Cardstock.  The double border is created by gluing two borders edge to edge on the Easter egg.  I covered the "seam" with thin craft tape and covered that with Mini Dew Drops (pink at top and bottom, blue in the middle).

I finished the card off by inserting the Easter sentiment in the Epiphany charm...and adding a white tulle bow.  Quick and Easy!!!

Be sure to visit The Robin's Nest all month for creative inspiration from our great design team using Neon Crackle Cardstock, Mini Dew Drops, and goodies from our partner, Epiphany!  Remember, all colors of Neon Crackle Cardstock are being featured this month and are 20% Off.

Scraps to Treasure Blog Hop - Anything Spring

Welcome to the Scraps to Treasure Blog Hop. This month's theme - Anything Spring.

Nothing says Spring like flowers! Yesterday I received a great Close to My Heart Stamp Set - prize from Janet's Creative World in the Altered Frames Blog Hop last week. The stamp set, Happy Valentine, has gorgeous roses and sentiments to die for (in particular, a great "Smitten"). When I looked at my calendar and saw I needed to get ready for the Spring hop, it was close at hand and perfect! Thanks again, Janet!

My scrap pieces of paper today came from a dollar-store pack purchased seven years ago! ( I remember this, because neither my husband nor I had jobs and no money for the good stuff!) As you know, I seldom throw anything away. And this is why! Today, I just saw this paper in a different way! Here is a pic of the actual paper. I cut the "stripes" and created two borders - one from the flowers and one from the ornate green patterned striped.

I used scraps of Buttercup Dot (Bo Bunny) for the roses - and I have a folder full of green scraps that I keep mostly for leaves. I stamped and cut two images on green....and two images on Buttercup. I accented the Buttercup roses with Copic Markers - then popped them up on top of the green leaves, adding a couple extra leaves in between.

Kathryn is the next stop on the hop.  But if you came here first, be sure to "spring" through the rest of the hop. The line-up is below in case you need it. My line up may be just a tad off, as I just started working at Hobby Lobby, and am posting my card early as I know I won't have time this weekend while working. We are setting up the first Hobby Lobby in Tucson....and if any of you have experienced a store set up, you know I'm beat when I get home! Yet, even though, have to admit I am enjoying the experience! However, there is no spring in my step these days - so I will be stumbling through the hop! Anyways, hope you are enjoying the hop!

Classic Easter - with the help of Neon Crackle, Mini Dew Drops, and Epiphany - Robin's Nest

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for joining Robin's Nest this month for inspiring projects highlighting Neon Crackle Cardstock and Mini Dew Drops - as well as welcoming this month's partner, Epiphany.

I am spotlighting an Easter card with a Purple Neon Crackle cross - embellished with Epiphany charms and Purple Mini Dew Drops.

Supplies Used to Complete this card

I began with a White Cardstock base measuring 5-1/2" x 11", folded in half.  I covered the base front with Purple Glitter Crackle Cardstock.  Pink Classic Glitter background was embossed with the Scales Texture Plate - then punched on one side with Poinsettia Flourish.

The cross is a Freebie Pattern from My Scrap Chick.  Since my Cricut hasn't been playing nice, I chose to fussy cut the cross pieces. I printed two layers of this pattern on the back of Purple Glitter Cardstock (top layer) and Moss Green Classic Glitter Cardstock (bottom layer).

The pattern includes a decorative lacy top layer, but I like the look of the Purple Glitter Cardstock for this particular card. I cut and layered the cross pieces, then set them aside to work on my charms.

The Easter Cross file from My Scrap Chick includes three Easter sentiments - all used in my Epiphany charms. I resized the file for the words to fit in the 1" round charms.  I printed each sentiment on a different coordinating color (Pink Classic Glitter, Moss Green Classic Glitter, and Distressed Plum).

Shape Studio allows you to punch the perfect-sized circle.  Epiphany's Epoxy Shapes fit perfectly and are crystal clear. Since I have never really had luck with liquid products meant for the same purpose, these bubble caps were perfect for me.

I created three charms; using thin pink ribbon, I arranged these on my card before I attached the cross so the ribbon base would be hidden.  I then popped the cross on top of the card front.

I stamped several small-medium flowers from Malabar Clematis on Distressed Plum Cardstock.  Scrap pieces of Getaway Glitter Swirl cardstock made great leaves stamped from Delicate Asters.  I fussy cut all stamped images and crushed them in my hand for texture.
Close Up of
Embellished Cross

These were set just right of the cross center.  Both the Cross and Clematis were embellished with Neon Purple Mini Dew Drops, as was the right border of the card and left corners.

Make sure you continue to visit The Robin's Nest all month for creative inspiration from our great design team!  Be sure to also visit the Robin's Nest now, as all colors of the Neon Crackle Cardstock are being featured this month and are 20% Off.
