Wedding

Shhhh.  It's a gift - the first page of a wedding album I'm making for friends getting married in a couple weeks.  I don't think she ever looks at my blog....so good to share here.

Wedding Card

I keep plugging away in my craft room, but I completely underestimate how much time my projects take.   Hope this card makes it to the wedding on time.

Cute Wedding Cake

Yesterday I was introduced to the work of Designs by Miss Mandee and decided to use the free Paper Cake svg to sincerely enter into the Eclips Users Group's Anything Goes challenge.  Today is our 18th Wedding Anniversary - so I added the original cake topper from our wedding cake.

A Wedding Blessing

I was inspired by a session at the Card Maker Success Summit to spend some time just using my stash.  I dip into my stash constantly, but have way too much in there that never seems to work for the card I'm thinking of.  So this time, I let my stash dictate what I'm thinking of.  I played for about an hour - made three cards - but only one I'm willing to share.  LOL!

I added a couple stickers from a wedding sticker sheet.  For a somewhat elegant wedding look, I used gold, black, and white papers from my stash.

All You Need is Love

Took a little break today from scrapbooking to make a wedding card for a friend.

I cut the design from Wedding Card with Flower from the SVG Shop - embossed the top layer and border and adhered them to the card base.  I added a leaf and brad that have been in my stash probably as long as this svg file - since 2012.  LOL!

Paper Ala Mode Forever Love

Today begins a new challenge at Paper Ala Mode - Forever Love.  I went with an anniversary card with products from We Are 3.

I made four layers using digital paper from the We Are 3 Something Blue collection.  The cake is also from We Are 3, as is the sentiment from the Wedded Bliss set.

The little flowers are from Heartfelt Creations.

Be sure to stop by the Paper Ala Mode challenge and join us!

Wedding Cake

I designed this layout using We Are 3's Burlap Beach digital paper.
This is a 12 x 12 layout.  I wanted a ripped look between the solid and patterned papers - but I also wanted to print across the two papers.  So I used GIMP placing the solid over the patterned paper from Beach Burlap.  I then used the erase tool to "erase" the solid paper until I received the torn effect I was looking for.  The titles were then computer generated.

A Beautiful Moment

Arggh!  I think I have hit the wall with scrapbook layouts!  Losing mojo - way behind.  Anyways, here is another layout for my wedding album - I will continue because this is the third time I've started my album and I refuse the quit this time!  This photo my photographer caught of the train conductor bowing his head in prayer is one of my favorites.  I ran into the conductor a few years later who told me he has it hanging in his office.

June is for Weddings

Today I have a scrapbook layout to share...I know! Right?  Does this not shock you?  These photos aren't some of my best from our wedding - but I love the look on my face and I don't have many photos with my beautiful train.

Day of Joy

Hello!  I'm here today with a wedding layout.
I started my layout by adding a small title on my background - I used Big Ornament digital paper from Nothing But Freebies.  I added scrap elements from We Are 3 - Burlap Beach and Butterfly Sky.

It's a Burlap Wedding

Today I made a wedding card for my cousin's wedding next week.  I used digital papers from Doodle Pantry (Holy Land Flowers) and Free Digital Scrapbooking (Go Green).  I decided to add a burlap flower, as her wedding invitations were made from burlap.

Honor Guard for Me

My layout today appears clean and simple - but it was not simple.  LOL!  I was inspired by a layout that seems to pop up each time I visit Pinterest for ideas.  Since I had time today, I decided to finally CASE it.
Entering the layout in Challenge #165 (Anything Goes) at Crafting from the Heart.

Story behind the layout:  This layout is for my wedding album.  After deciding to get married on a 19th century train, I told only one person whom I wouldn't be able to invite.  She asked a question I really hadn't thought of - were we going to follow a 19th-century theme?  Hmmm....there's an idea.  So my dress was custom designed to resemble 19th-century fashion.  My husband is a Civil War buff - so we actually tried to pick our date to coincide with annual Civil War re-enactments at the park.  They had no date scheduled - so in order not to lose the hall, we scheduled our wedding.  We were pleasantly surprised six months later to learn the re-enactment would take place the same weekend we picked!  So we were able to arrange to have a Civil War Honor Guard - and as we walked to the reception area, all the lounging re-enactors stood and cheered.  We also had a chance to participate in their annual ball.  It was so much fun to have the re-enactors help make our day extra special.

A Simple Layout

I got to play with my wedding album today.  I created this simple layout of our Best Man and Maid of Honor (my stepkids).  This page was obviously very easy to create - sometimes we forget that less is more.

Wedding Layout with Discover Family Digital Papers

Now that I've finally begun our wedding album, I'm enjoying creating layouts.  My dress was custom designed and this layout shows it in various stages.

Inspiration from Featured Stamper

The work of this week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers is gorgeous!  For some reason, her gallery inspired me to start working on my bridal album - after 12 years of marriage!  My layout today focuses on fittings for my wedding gown. Colored wedding gowns are common today - but it was back in the 70s when I saw a blue wedding gown and decided mine would be green.  Little did I know that it would be 30+ years later that I would be in search of my green wedding gown...and how difficult it would be to find.  I love it when fate steps in and I found my wedding gown designer as my hubby-to-be was channel surfing one day.  My gown is one of a kind with 300+ piano pleats in the exact color I dreamed of for 30+ years (Is her gown green or white?)

Happy Birthday, Mom

Tomorrow would be my mother-in-law's birthday.  We lost her about ten years ago - To keep her memory, I am in the process of making four scrapbooks - one for each of my in-laws.  Today's layout is inspired by the amazing sketch challenge from Stuck?! Sketches.  Check out their entries - they will bring some joy to your day.

Fabulous Wedding and Striking Couple

Yesterday was a most excellent day!  I had the chance to celebrate with cousins Judy and Frank - aka the wedding couple.

Here is my wedding card.  Since this is a second marriage for both, I took a small step away from tradition of elegance and made a funky cell phone with a text screen for their wedding card.  You see, this marriage almost didn't happen because Frank was texting more than calling in the beginning - their first date almost didn't happen!  So I decided to have some fun and remind Judy in her wedding card a little of how their relationship progressed - through texts.

Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge

In today's post, Viva la Verve shares their weekly sketch challenge.  This sketch is easy - whip up an entry in about ten minutes!  I'm proud once again to get rid of some scraps....even the bow was already made - a leftover from another project.
