Scrap the Day Away
So are you all enjoying the outrageous weather. I know my friends in Texas aren't - our thoughts are with you all. Here we are experiencing temps below normal this year. Personally, while I am in love with this weather - I still like to stay inside and play - and what better thing to do that some cards using all my scraps!
The Sunflower is cut from Sunflower Girl from 2 Cute Ink. The sentiment is from Brittish Designs.

Something Old - Something New
Hi, Everyone!
Welcome to my Old & New post! I am showcasing four cards using paper from Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters Collection and my favorite new set of stamps from Heartfelt Creations - Journey of Love Keys. These are entries in Happy Ladybugs March Challenge of using something you own that is old (the paper is well over two years old) and something new (I received the stamps as a retirement gift from fellow employees).

Monochromatic Paper Blossoms
For the past couple years, I haven't had any time to really play - so this weekend I'm pulling out some old techniques. This first card is totally different than my vision. For this one, I used one of the first stamp sets I ever purchased and stamped black images of a pine cone - embossed with Mystic Fire. I was pleased with the border. I then wanted to emboss some simple flowers - I was not as pleased with those, so decided to ink them. Not really happy with the results - but the card began to grow on me. I printed a sentiment on vellum to add to the top.
Today's cards (a coordinated gift pack) are being entered in a couple challenges - Suzy Bee's Blooming' Challenge (ATG with a twist - the twist being embossing) and Happy LadyBug's Cards and Swaps (monochromatic). I plan to make a coordinated gift pack - so more to come.

Valentine
It's just a habit of mine to save time by mass producing cards - with a twist. This time my Valentine card is made with scraps from a variety of paper collections - Christmas, Graphic 45 Place in Time, and Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters.
Because I used the heart shape on my Christmas cards, I was on a roll in changing the message and getting these cut quickly. Now I'm finally able to take advantage of eClips' Print-2-Cut function - thanks to Santa Hubby. So I'm saving lots of time by keeping the cards basically the same - just changing up the paper and design.
So... here's another card.

Scrap Valentine Card
Good Morning, All!
For my Valentine cards, I want to use SCRAPS! I have a TON of scraps, and this is just one card I made for Valentine's Day.
I love creating cards using my scraps (in this case, elements from Heartfelt Creations paper packs), because it's an easy way to clean my craft area. And when you have lots of sheets of patterned paper from various collections, it's fun to combine all those papers in a creative way.

I also played with my eClips Print-2-Cut feature finally - for the heart. Not exactly how I wanted it to print....and still need a bit of practice aligning the laser to the registration marks - but will definitely save time when I have some mass production to do....not to mention a much nicer fussy cut. :D
More than likely, posts for the next month will be Valentine's Day cards made from my scrap piles . . . Enjoy!

Celebrate National Scrapbooking Day
National Scrapbooking Day was May 2?!?!??!? Ooops...missed it. LOL! But I thought for sure it was always on a Saturday! So here we are, with National Scrapbooking Day upon us (okay behind us) - I feel this special day should be spent in celebration of paper! Whether you're making a scrapbook, card, or other papercraft project, I welcome you to my blog for another day with a little inspiration. I do swear I have a limitless pile of paper that I am always attempting to dwindle - but little of my paper will find its way to a landfill before being embellished with flowers, butterflies, and glitter that transforms paper into beautiful and functional works of art and a small gift for someone special.

With Best Wishes
I wanted to create retirement cards using bright colors. Leftover Christmas paper scraps did the job!
