It's the Festive Friday Challenge

Here's another layout for The Outlawz - this time Festive Friday where one of the themes is Flower.  I used papers and elements from Creative Memories.  This kit is Gem Stone.  All in all, I'm pleased with it.  Found the flowers in my stash. I'm really happy with how the colors of this digital paper printed.  I'm never quite sure what I'll get.

Sequins and Spatula

I had a magazine open on my desk with an interesting technique - so decided to put my twist on it today in a scrapbook layout.   The magazine sample used vellum printed with the original photo as frame.  I didn't have vellum that large....so instead duplicated the technique just by changing the transparency level of the back photo.  for the Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz, I added the "Same Old Stuff" - items that I bought years ago.  I'm not sure how long ago....but I know before I retired in 2018 (because I haven't bought much in embellishments since).  These are the sequins at the top and the spatula at the bottom of my layout. I love that I finally fond a use for the spatula!

The Outlawz Challenges - Paper Ala Mode

WooHoo!  I actually finished a product for Paper Ala Mode on time!

I created a scrapbook layout using papers and stickers from Krafted with Copper from Creative Memories.  I've been wanted to create layouts with photos that fill the width of a 12" page - no way of getting that printed at my favorite Walmart photo department.  So today I printed a photo with my new Canon printer.  Unfortunately I can't share photos of my grandson, but the 12" photo is fabulous!  Not sure how long it'll last....but I'm happy if it at least lasts long enough for him and his mother to see.

The title was computer generated.

Please check out the fabulous creations at Paper Ala Mode and come play along.  Here's how to join the fun.

Wednesday Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz

So many plans....and so hard to get motivated to accomplish them!  LOL!  Still have not recovered from having the house painted....can't find my wall art cutting files....or even the fonts I used to reproduce.  So Just managing to sneak in a little time for a challenge or two.  The sketch is from the Wednesday Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz - I used the sketch to create a scrapbook layout. It's a winter scene - but the papers are Cookie Monster (Cookie Monster eyes and Chocolate Chips) for my 2-year-old niece who loves Cookie Monster.

Yikes!  Just found out I missed the challenge!  LOL!  Oh, well....got a layout completed.

Guest Designer with LeighSBDesigns

It’s a good day – I have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer for LeighSBDesigns – Woo Hoo!  My card is all about heart – specifically Heart Blooms.

I digitally colored the image and used Print2Cut to cut five different hearts in varying sizes. I layered the hearts to create one fully bloomed textured heart.  I added a sentiment from the set printed on digital “foil” paper – cutting out a spot to place my heart.  I added a textured background, some gems, and a bow and called it done.

I really enjoyed coloring the heart digitally.  It's so beautiful and feminine.  I also added some gems to jazz it up a bit.  Thank you, Leigh SB Designs, for having me as a guest designer.

I also have to give a shout out to The Outlawz - Leigh SB Designs was the sponsor for a challenge I won through The Outlawz.

A Quick Layout for The Outlawz

With winter fast approaching, I am trying to finish last year's Christmas album for my niece.

So here's a layout from her Christmas holiday.  (Unfortunately, I cannot share the photo.)  She was in a hotel room with all white bedding...eating Cheetos.  Amazingly, the bedding does not yet show signs of orange.  Here I used the sketch from The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I enjoy turning these sketches into layouts because I get a clean and simple look compared to many layout sketches available.  Love it!  I did rotate the sketch 180 degrees.

For my papers, I used the Frozen collection from We Are 3.  The "journaling" is computer generated.  I purchased the Frozen elements on Etsy.

New Monday Greetings Challenge at The Outlawz

Here's one for The Outlawz Monday Greetings - Sweet Greetings - using the adorable Tea Cake with Strawberries by Power Poppy.  I made a card inspired by this week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast - with a frame from Monica's Creative Room Laced Frame collection...adorned with extra strawberries 'cause what better way to send Sweet Greetings?

The cake and strawberries are colored digitally.  Sweet Greetings to you!

Progressive Freebie for The Outlawz

I'm loving the new embossing folder I just received from my sister and couldn't resist making a card using The Outlawz Progressive Freebie with this folder because it's nearly a mirror image of the photo we're using - Autumn Fall Reading Girl from Star Stampz.  I was worried I made the stamp image too small....but - this doesn't happen - but the car is exactly as I envisioned.  This is a busy image, so coloring the details was more than a bit challenging, but it was fun.  Just don't look too closely!  I just love the image, though.

Here is a closeup of the detail.

New Freebie from The Outlawz

It's July, and you know what that means.  New Progressive Freebie Challenge at the Outlawz.  I'm thrilled  to be showcasing Funny Sunflower.  This cutie is precolored - I added some dimension by layering two copies of the top layer of flower petals.  I used my Eclips for the computer-generated title, and papers are from Digital Scrapbooking Experts.  Photo...title...flower - called it done!

You can check out inspiration for the freebie on The Outlawz Facebook Group, but also take a peek at The Paper Shelter to support our sponsor.  The Progressive Challenge runs through the end of July.  Lots of fun to be had....hope to see you there.

Going to be a lean month for crafting, as we are painting the entire inside of our house (lots of packing and moving boxes!), and I hope to get in a trip to see my sister after my last trip in June being canceled by the airlines.

Purple and White for Paper Ala Mode

It's a new challenge at Paper Ala Mode as we're using Purple and White.  Our design team members have created with an amazing assortment of images from Fred She Said.  What better way to get this month started!

I'm happy to be showcasing I Love You This Much available at Fred She Said.  This cute image was fun to color...and looked wonderful when I saved it and closed it....only to print looking like she just got out of the mud pile!  But as a grandma, I thought if a muddy little granddaughter came running up with her arms open like this...I wouldn't see the dirt at all.

I colored her entirely digitally, including the mud that captures her fun spirit (what was originally a bit of shadow).

Bryan's Baby from Sheepski Designs

The gorgeous Bryan's Baby image from Sheepski Designs is available this month on The Outlawz Freebie Progressive challenge.  You can also obtain the image at Sheepski Designs. I've seen many gorgeous colors using this image, but I've gone with a basic tan (colored digitally).  The green/blue background is digital paper from We Are 3 (Alcohol Splashes), and I added a sentiment from We Are 3's Graduation set.

Happy Zoo Day!

I love taking card sketches and turning them into scrapbook layouts, and this week's sketch at The Outlawz was perfect for that.  I couldn't resist using the adorable Zoo-Day Title by Cuddly Cute Designs.  I kept the page pretty clean and simple - I haven't had much luck finding zoo animal embellishments that I really like....but just realized I haven't gone to Creative Fabrica yet.  Still a cute layout, if I do say so myself (though my colors in the photo are way off!)

Make it Royal Challenge

It's Day 1 of the Paper Ala Mode Challenge.  The inspiration is mind boggling!  I made this fun little card with papers and gems from my stash.   I knew Make It Royal was coming up, but had a difficult time coming up with an idea using the images we were provided.  I was inspired with some suggestions from my Wednesday's craft group....thank you, Ladies!

To provide that royal look, I added the gems and gold ribbon.  Isn't it cute?  Be sure to visit Paper Ala Mode and see all the fab inspiration.

Grace Selfie for Freebie Progressive Challenge

It's the beginning of May, and you know what that means.  New Progressive Freebie Challenge at the Outlawz.  Spring is here, and I'm thrilled to be showcasing Charming Asters.  The flowers are pre-colored, but I colored the cute freebie digitally.  I used We Are 3's Really Simple for the background, which really made the Asters pop.  The matting is Alcohol Splashes for the matting.  I added the freebie to the frame and called it done.

You can check out inspiration for the new freebie on The Outlawz Challenge page, but also take a peek at We Are 3's Etsy shop.  The Progressive Freebie Challenge runs through May 31.  Lots of fun!  Hope to see you there.

All Dressed Up Springtime and New Challenge at Paper Ala Mode

It's Saturday, and that means it's new-challenge day for Paper Ala Mode - and Mom's the focus.  Lovely Springtime is a princess and loves to pick Spring flowers.  I made a simple card with papers from Creative Fabrica (I already forgot the name!) and We Are 3 (GranMargaret's Flowers).   The theme is Mother's Day....and I probably should have added a Mother's Day sentiment.....but I really just love the image by itself!

She's colored digitally.

A Little Quickie for The Outlawz

This month the Outlawz Freebie Progressive Challenge is being sponsored by MMedel Illustrations.  This adorable little angel is from MMedel Illustrations called Christmas Angel.  She's colored digitally.  The flowers are from my stash.  Her halo of holly is from We Are 3, as are the background papers.

I'm finally getting a little more comfortable with coloring digitally, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome.  What do you think?

Lovely Easter Bunny

I'm loving all the cute Easter images by All Dressed Up and decided to use Easter Bunny for my design for the Paper Ala Mode Challenge at The Outlawz.  The patterned oval was created with Monica's Creative Room's Lattice 46.  Easter Bunny was colored digitally.

One for Paper Ala Mode at The Outlawz

I've got gobs of cards I've been itching to make with the new Alcohol Splashes, so when The Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge chose spring colors, I pulled out one of the favorite patterns and went to town.  All of the elements are using the same sheet of Alcohol Splashes paper.  Even the flowers are paper pieced with the same patterned paper - I used another sheet with more greens to paper piece the flower centers and stems.

3D at Paper Ala Mode

I'm so excited to show you the adorable image #41 "Emmy's Hat."

Emmy was easy and fun to color digitally.  Check out other fun 3D projects with Sheepski Designs stamps on the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge page.

Lust

It's a new Progressive Freebie at The Outlawz, and the image is Lust.  You know I love me some digital coloring - but here's the first hair coloring I can say I'm proud of.  I watched a video that recommended a separate layer and using Gaussian Blur for shadows rather than Dodge/Burn.  Seems to be working out well for me.

I colored digitally and added a balloon background from We Are 3.
