Bundle of Joy - The Robin's Nest

Hi Everyone,

This month we are delighted to bring you more projects filled with creative goodness. Wasn't last month's "flaming" projects fabulous? This month designers are bringing you projects that showcase different ways you can create projects to wow your friends using Timeless Twine and Diamond Dew Drops.

My first card is a baby card using the new Special Delivery Baby Girl products.

The card is simple - matting with a sticker sentiment included in the Special Girl - Baby Girl Sticker Sheet. The card is embellished with a baby from the Special Girls - Special Friends - Baby Girls pack. The star embellishment is made with a 2" scalloped circle. Timeless Twine is wrapped around to create a geometric design.

Here you can see the beginning of the design - tape the beginning of the thread on the back of the circle. Wrap the twine around the circle, moving one scallop over each time. When finished with the geometric circle, cut and tape the end of the twine on the back. I finished off the geometric design with a heart center inside an Epiphany Crafts Circle Charm - then added Diamond Dew Drops to the edge of the circle. The heart center is also from the Special Girl - Baby Girl Sticker Sheet.

Supplies Used
Be sure to return to the blog each day to see many more projects using Timeless Twine and Diamond Dew Drops.  For some of us, these will be our last Robin's Nest Designs as we "retire" to other projects.  Don't miss out - as we've saved our best for last!

Operation Write Home - Memorial Day Blog Hop

I am pleased to be participating in the Memorial Day Weekend Blog Hop sponsored by Operation Write Home. This hop features Thank You cards based on one of their sketches. You will love the hop! I'm sure you will see everything from classic to elegant.

I used Sketch #138. Here is a picture of the sketch - and my Thank You Card.

This was made using plain colored cardstock in coordinating colors, embellished with Posy Patch glittered flowers from Heartfelt Creations with Neon Mini Dew Drop centers from The Robin's Nest.

White on White - Blog Hop

This month Lorby's World of Hops has challenged these talented crafters by asking them to create something that is white on white with a touch of color. I know you will be as pleasantly surprised to see what they have come up with. There is so much talent here that I know they have risen to the occasion and have some wonderful projects to share.

So please begin at Lorby's World (http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com) since she is our hostess and has a give away going on with this hop. She has all the details on her blog.

Now let's begin this hop. I have three projects to share.  I complain all the time that I craft for everyone else, but never seem to find time to do for me!  These projects have been on the "list" since this little guy was born in early December.  Hmmm....now that I think about it, I'm impressed it's been less than six months - and way before he turned 18!  Anyways, I wanted to make frames for his grandparents, great-grandma, aunt, and, of course, his parents.

Finally found time - and white-on-white was the next blog hop on my schedule - so decided to kill two birds with one stone....and here are my white-on-white projects.  I actually made one for Scraps to Treasures monochromatic hop - then a second white-on-white for this hop.  I planned to make the other two in traditional baby colors....but just did not like the first one - so went back to white-on-white for the last two.

All have some degree of glitter and embossing.  The last uses Mulberry paper rather than just plain white cardstock.

Thank you for stopping by today and now your next blog to visit is
Miriam.  Here is the entire line up in case you've gotten lost. Oh, and Anita was accidentally left off the original list - so be sure to hit her at the end!  Thanks!

Scraps to Treasures - Monochromatic

Welcome to the Scraps To Treasure Team's Monochromatic Blog Hop. Our goal at STT is to use up all our scraps and leftover embellishments to create wonderful layouts, cards and other projects. This month we are doing that using different shades of only one color.

Up for grabs is this RAK from our hostess, Paula at http://preciouspagesbypaula.blogspot.com that will be going out to one lucky hopper that is a follower of all the blogs in the hop and has left a comment for each entry.
Included in the RAK are:

10 My Mind's Eye Laundry Line Diecuts
2 Basic Grey Bling It On Rubons and Rhinestones
2 Glitz Frosting Bling
1 Martha Stewart Glitter Alphas
1 EK Success Inspirables Embellishments
1 Special Moments Embellishments
1 Treasured Memories Metal Tags

I'm so glad to meet three goals with this project: 1) monochromatic blog hop, 2) finally finding a use for my cream mulberry paper left over from a project I did about seven years ago, and 3) FINALLY finishing one of the baby gifts I've been wanting to make since - what I think the kid is almost 18? Okay - he's still a baby, but I'm embarrassed to not have gotten this gift to his family in the first month.

But I'm excited to share! I think for a project made from scraps turned out just great!

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop and more great monochromatic creations. Your next stop is Robin.  Here is the entire line up in case you get lost.

Flaming Chili Peppers! at The Robin's Nest

Hi Everyone,

As you drive along roads in Arizona, within nearly every mile, you can pull to the side of the road and buy a beautiful string of hot red chili peppers. Chili Flame Cardstocks are a perfect way to celebrate this Southwest tradition. This month, The Robin's Nest is bringing you amazing projects that showcase the Hot Flame Line. Take a break from your busy schedule and enjoy all the creativity.

Today's project uses Chili Flame Cardstock, Chili Flame Border, and Rumple Ribbon from Lovebug Creations.

Supplies Used

The finished card is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".  The card front is Ochre Classic Glitter Cardstock, matted with the solid side of Chili Flame Border.

I fussy cut the flame border and angled flames from each corner toward the center of the card.

A 3-1/4" square was cut from Chili Flame Cardstock - matted with Ochre Classic Glitter and the solid side of Chili Flame Border.  This was popped up in the center of the card.
I cut several small "chili pepper" shapes and covered them with different shades of glitter.  These are arranged on a Spellbinders die cut out of Ochre Classic Glitter.  The chili peppers were embellished with Sunflower Rumple Ribbon.  The ribbon is tied in a bow, with the ends sliced to resemble straw.

A few Winter Retreat Dew Drops finish off the card.  How ironic that "Winter Retreat" Dew Drops would make this card so hot!

Our Love is a Flame - The Robin's Nest

Hi Everyone,

This month, we are pleased to be featuring the Flame Collection - another incredible cardstock collection by The Robin's Nest.  We are also partnering with Lovebug Creations and their beautiful Rumple Ribbon.  The Robin's Nest Blog will be featuring these products in all kinds of projects all month - enjoy!

The card I designed this month went through quite the metamorphosis.  With my hubby being a Harley rider, the first image that came to mind when seeing the Mango Flame Collection was motorcycles.  Then there's adding the Rumple Ribbon.  Hmmmm...next idea - a card with the Biker Babe in mind.  Well - my card did NOT turn out as I envisioned.  But I fell in love with my Rumple Ribbon flower - so my card quickly turned into an anniversary card for that Harley guy of mine.

For this card, I cut a card front using an envelope svg file resized to 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".  I used Spellbinders' Label Four Nestabilities Dies for the black and white nested labels.

I wanted a vintage feel, so I made a flower out of Sunset Rumple Ribbon.

To make the flower, first I made slits in the ribbon about 1/2" apart.  I cut a 1-1/2" circle and ran it through the Xyron.

Then wrap the ribbon around the circle - begin on the outside edge and continue a circle until you reach the middle.  For a more vintage look, I inked the ribbon with black ink - and finished the flower with some Neon Mini Dew Drops in the center.

I added Leaf Green Rumple Ribbon for flower leaves.  Here is a close up of the finished flower.

Neon Orange Mini Dew Drops and Black Tear Dew Drops made a fun flourish below the flower.  To make a flourish, use Glossy Accents to make a thin flourish design - adding Dew Drops.  Not good at making flourishes?  Use a stamp first!

The Mango Flame Border added to the inside message to my hubby.

Pimp Out Showcase with Deezy Does It!

If you are looking for the Butterflies Blog Hop, go here!

This week my blog is being showcased in the

Pimp-Out/Showcase Hop!!!
Brought to you by Deezy Does It!

Thanks, Wanda, for inviting me!

This "Weekly" Pimp-Out/Showcase Hop is to gain new followers, as well as bring more traffic to your blog and - at the same time - receive greater exposure.  It is also a great way to meet other bloggers, exchange ideas, get great tips and learn new techniques - all while showing your "art."

Before we begin, there are just a few simple rules to the hop.

1. Follow the Host (first link):
2. Follow the showcased blogger: Short on Ideas (second link)
3. Link up below using Linky Tools.
4. Visit at least 3 blogs from the linked up list below and leave a comment.  Let them know you came from the Weekly "Pimp-Out/Showcase" Hop and inform them you are a follower so they can return the favor.
~Please remember that if someone from the hop follows you, be sure to return the favor~

Welcome to my Showcase. My name is Camille Short (Short on Ideas) – and I admit to being a craftaholic, as well as a procraftinator! I have been papercrafting for about eight years now! I got my start when my new husband mistook a sarcastic remark about wanting to scrapbook seriously . . . and surprised me with about $300 of crafting goodies for my 50th birthday. The good news was that he was listening – the bad news was I wanted NOTHING to do with crafting! But being newlyweds, I humored him and signed up for some classes . . . OMG! It did not take me long to become addicted! In addition, he never complains about how much time or money I spend on my crafting – since it’s all his fault anyways!

I’m a retired educator who has always enjoyed showing people how to do things. After a move to Arizona from Michigan, I began teaching papercrafting classes at AZ Scrapbooking in Green Valley, Arizona. AZ has a great design team who brings inspiration to all their meetings – after a few years with them, I was inspired to share my talents with others through design teams. I first designed for Hobby Baby (sister company to Globecraft Memories and Piccolo Décor). I am currently designing for The Robin’s Nest – my favorite products being their Fleur Cardstock, Glittered Cardstocks, and Dew Drops!  I recently returned to work full time at Hobby Lobby as Office Manager . . . and when I won’t be bookkeeping, you will be able to find me in the Papercrafting section!
Since working full time has crimped my crafting time, I didn’t get anything new made for this showcase. But I do want to share a couple of my all-time favorite projects.
My wedding album is still sitting in the bottom of a full closet – perhaps ¼ finished. (Guessing that will never be completed!) However, I was inspired at a CHA Convention to get my favorite wedding photos on the wall. In this project, a 12 x 12 canvas is scrapbooked – embellished with three Globecraft frames at the bottom. (Step-by-step instructions can be found on the post Eyes of Love.)

I enjoy creating cards more than anything else. My cards can be purchased at Luke’s Italian Beef Restaurant and the Medicine Shoppe in Tucson, as well as Fort Wilkins Gift Shop in Copper Harbor, Michigan. These Christmas cards using Robin’s Nest Cardstock are some of my favorites.

When you have some free time on your hands, browse through my blog’s older posts and visit some of my other fun projects!

Thank you, Deezy Does It, for inviting me to share my passion in the Pimp Out Showcase!

To link up, please head on over to Deezy Does It! and join the party.

To qualify for this week's "give-a-way" be sure to sign up by using Rafflecopter at Deezy Does It!

Butterflies and Roses - The Robin's Nest Sorbet Glitter Cardstock

Hi Everyone,

This month, we are pleased to be featuring the Sorbet Glitter Collection. This cardstock collection is another classic beauty that is a must-have for every cardmaker and scrapbooker.

The Sorbet Glitter collection features five great colors that coordinate with each other. They are currently on sale for 20% off! The Robin's Nest Blog will be featuring these papers in all kinds of projects all month - enjoy the fabulous creations with Sorbet Glitter Cardstock.

We are also partnering with gel-a-tins - gel-a-tins are clear stamps that are soft and sticky like a gelly candy - packaged in a handy metal tin perfect for storing!  You'll find a wide assortment of letter and image stamps on their website, as well as ideas featuring Robin's Nest products on their blog.

The first card I designed for this week's post was made before I had my hot little hands on gel-a-tins.  This card features four of the five Sorbet colors - Aquamarine, Shocking Pink, Kiwi, and Blue Raspberry. This is a simple card, as you can see...another timesaver for those on the go! I first layered Shocking Pink Sorbet on top of Aquamarine Sorbet. For the top layer, I used two colors - Kiwi and Blue Raspberry. I wrapped the layers with some dollar-store ribbon, with a festive bow. For the top of the card, I cut two Shocking Pink pieces using Cuttlebug's Honeycomb Poppies die set. I topped the card off with a Aquamarine rose (with Kiwi Sorbet leaves). The rose is from the Bella Rose stamp set by Heartfelt Creations.

Unfortunately, the camera doesn't pick up all the great glittered detail on Sorbet Glitter cardstock....but the classic sorbet colors and the fanciful glittered detail make Sorbet Glitter cardstock a must have!

Supplies Used to Complete Rose card

Then I received my happy mail!  Since I think any card missing something can be made beautiful with a butterfly, I was delighted to receive gel-a-tins' Butterflies Are Free stamp set, along with Pink of Me gelly powder.  Already loving my rose card, I recreated it with a twist and replaced my rose with a couple butterflies in Pink of Me gelly.  Loving them!

Here is a close-up of the great butterflies - they are all fanciful - full of great detail!  Of course, they were just screaming to be embellished with Dew Drops!

You will love, love, love Sorbet Glitter Cardstock - be sure to check back to the Robin's Nest Blog every day for excellent ideas using this excellent product, as usual!  The posts are full of inspiration.  Be sure to also visit gel-a-tins for their grand inspiration using Robin's Nest products!  Enjoy!  Also enjoy 20% Off all colors of Sorbet Glitter Cardstock being featured this month!

Today I'm sharing a card using Cardstock and Dew Drops from the Robin's Nest.

Supplies Used to Complete this card

Mat cardstock for frame effect - Gold Classic Glitter on top of Brown Classic Glitter on top of Moss Green Classic Glitter. I added a vertical matted strip on the left - Orange Glitter Crackle, matted with Brown Classic Glitter. The horizontal strip is Getaway Glitter Swirl, also matted with Brown Classic Glitter. The corner die cut is in Brown Classic Glitter.

Daisies are die cut from Orange Crackle Glitter and randomly arranged on the card - with Dew Drop centers, of course. The leaf stamped on Getaway Glitter Swirl add the finishing touch to my daisy patch. Top it off with a sentiment of choice! Finished card size is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".
